I loved this book and have enjoyed sharing it with friends. It gave me the warm fuzzies with a full emotional experience- laughter, connection, hope, tears, resilience, strength, perseverance, healing, all circling back around to hope and a feel good ending.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was perfect. She captured the characters and kept me listening.

This is more about Nora's own journey then it is about the romance, and, the romance was fun. Nora wrote a book that's being adapted into a movie. They use part of her property to film the movie and the leading man makes himself at home at Nora's house and makes a deal to stay a little longer. And there were real life relatable complications. No spoilers here.

Read this for:
-Celebrity Romance
-Small town setting with great side characters
-Single parenting
-A sweet romance with a main character learning her own strength and resilience

Again, I loved it -and will continue to share it out! If you haven't read it, consider picking it up!

Thanks to the publisher for a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book! It reminded me a lot of A Summer to Remember, for some reason. I really liked the element of a famous person/actor falling for someone in their town and getting along in a “regular” setting.

This book was sweet, it was a quick read, and it was very charming!

An incredible story of finding love after life has seemingly already begun for a screenwriter and a famous actor. Nora and Leo are incredibly compelling characters with deep and painful history they have to heal from before they can grow together. Their chemistry is amazing and the abundance of small and tender moments between them made the story touching and adorable. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the author's next work. The main character was sympathetic and funny and the setting was lovely. I do not typically enjoy relationships or breakups that hinge on a misunderstanding, so that part felt a little bit disappointing as I wished the characters would just speak to one another and resolve things. However, it was well written and fun and a perfect vacation read.

This book was an adorable famous person/normal person romance with a likable main character and a cute surrounding family. While the major miscommunication between the main characters seemed frustrating, as they typically do, it was still believable and easy to overall overcome. I wished the famous person character would have been fleshed out more so that the reader understood his motives and actions better, but he remained likable throughout the book. Overall, I found the main character very enjoyable and a great mother, which made me root for her throughout the book!

This was a simple and refreshing release from the heavy day-to-day real life. Even though it dealt with some heavy topics, the end left me smiling and wanting to hug the book! It's the perfect rom-com and fans of Emily Henry will love this one as well!

The plot of this book sounded so interesting to me -- a romance TV writer (aka Hallmark Movies) falls for the star of her first Hollywood film, who just so happens to play her disgusting ex-husband. It was too cute and too good for me to not be obsessed with.

This was a beautiful, confusing, slightly chaotic romance that was fast-paced; we jumped right into the story with Nora and her family and it felt like you were missing something, that's how good the writing was. I love a book like that, where there is not a lot of prep and story setup and you just dive into the main plot points.

The writing and story flowed from the very beginning and you immediately had a wonderful understanding of who Nora was; she was a great narrator and you felt her personality come off the page-- strong but soft, passionate, and level-headed... it was really nice to be inside her mind.

Of course, Nora and Leo fall for each other and then you are hit with a huge plot twist that knocked me off my feet. I was so lost, confused, sad, and angry but toward the end everything made sense. This was an in-the-clouds romance, it almost read like fanfiction which I'm fine with.

Nothing about this book was realistic, or maybe it is in some world, but it made me feel all soft and warm inside. It was romantic and out there but somehow also deep - Nora was going through a lot, as were her children, and she fought for them to have a good, normal life while also trying to go after her dreams and follow her heart in Leo.

It was a really wonderful, quick read that made me incredibly happy as well as made me cry! If you need something light, fast, and adorable I cannot recommend Nora Goes Off Script enough!

I've read this book before the release and I've found it really interesting and sweet. It was like I read a Hallmark movie with famous actor, second chance and small town romance tropes. The MC is Nora who is a screenwriter, she writes for TLC and her main genre is romance. One of her scripts become a movie and a famous actor stays with her and her kids after filming. But this book is not just about a contemporary fiction. It's about true love.

I loved reading Nora Goes Off Script, and not only because it was short and easy to move with, but also because the author’s voice was strong and she wasn’t afraid to show true feelings, doubts and promises. The characters, the plot and the whole story are very lovable. Not only will Nora’s kids rob your heart, but also Leo, who despites being famous, hasn't think highly of himself.

I rarely read about small town romances, but at the same time I really fell in love with Nora Goes Off Script. It was fast-paced, but it did not despise the past or the consequences of the decisions, it fully displayed them. Nora questioned herself not just once, she was distrustful but she had a reason. She had a marriage behind her back, their kids and the life she had to manage after Ben's leaving.

Leo, who wants to experience real life, has a huge role to change something in Nora, our narrative. Laurel Ridge became not only Leo’s refuge, but mine as well. Nora Goes Off Script is a story where you do have a second chance and no matter who you are, you can be famous, you can be a simple screenwriter, love is waiting for you. It made me feel loved and I can't thanks enough for the author to write Nora's story.

SO good! Definitely a good read and I love how the flow of the story but I felt like the story is missing something about her ex-husband, it wasn't elaborated what happened after her husband found out about her awards and success in life.

Annabel Monaghan's "Nora Goes Off Script" was delightful. I went into this book not quite knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by how Monaghan made the normal person-movie star romance original.

Nora is a single mother in her late 30s who falls in love with Leo, a 40-year-old Hollywood superstar, when he plays the male lead in a screenplay she wrote based on the breakdown of her marriage.

It's refreshing to read romances about adults in their mid-life (or approaching mid-life) and this is a damn good one. I loved Nora's voice and the psychological subtlety injected into her thoughts. Her relationships--with Leo, her two young children, sister, and close friends--are written with an economical, deft hand and felt true to life.

A truly lovely, enjoyable read.

Nora Goes Off Script is a perfect book to read any time of year but especially if you want to hold on to summer a little longer. This book has gotten so much well-deserved praise, and it was my favorite book of summer. It's a perfect light-hearted, escapist read, and it's a fun peek into what it would be like to date a movie star/celebrity.

I received a reviewer copy of Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan from the publisher Putnam Books from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What It’s About: Nora's deadbeat husband has left her and she has written a script based off it. You see Nora is the queen of romance she writes books for a similar channel to the Hallmark movies and she is a pro. But this movie is different and could really be her masterpiece and stars big celebrities. So when the sexiest man alive stays behind at her house after filming, she's skeptical but then it seems like maybe Nora could find her big love.

What I Loved: This book perfects the issue that tears apart the couple. I was angry and pissed and didn't understand but then I did and it was so creative. This really showed a perfect devastation and makes your anger and confusion and annoyance pay off. That is to say the character is in the dark with you and I loved the pay off. Creative and believable and fun as heck!

What I didn’t like so much: I didn't buy the chemistry between Nora and the sexy actor. I didn't fully get what was so special. I also felt like I didn't fully get a sense of who Nora was which was a bit disappointing.

Who Should Read It: People who love love stories especially Hollywood centered.

Summary: A romance screenwriter knows the formula for love but has had struggles applying it herself.

This book will for sure be one of my favorite romances of this year! I loved everything about it 🤩

I didn’t realize, until reading this, how much I like reading about main characters who are moms. Being a mama myself, while reading definitely helps me escape, I also feel like books about moms are really relatable for me too.

I really loved the relationship between Nora and Leo in this! Leo was for freaking sure new book BF material! He was probably one of my favorite male leads in a book that I’ve read in a long time. I think a lot of what I loved about him was how amazing he was with Nora’s kids. He loved them like his own and that just tugged at my heart 🥹

Nora’s kids cracked me up so much throughout this book, and I just loved reading about them. This had me feeling all of the emotions, from laughing to almost crying, and being mad! Then that last part of the book?! Omg I didn’t see it coming at all and my jaw dropped!

This book was amazing in my opinion. Well done @annabelmonaghan !! I cannot wait to see what else you come out with! 💗💗

Nora is a screenwriter who usually writes cheesy hallmark movies but her latest script based on her real-life messy divorce gets picked up for the big screen. The man playing Nora’s husband, Leo, is a major heartthrob known for his irresistible smolder and Nora is most definitely not immune. Surprisingly, Leo’s life is not as wonderful as it may seem and he falls in love with Nora’s small town and cozy home. He offers to pay Nora rent to temporarily stay after the movie has wrapped so he can escape the spotlight and watch the sun rise from her porch in peace.

This was refreshingly different from most of the other rom-coms I’ve read. Nora was a mature protagonist and I think that’s why I loved it so much. She’s a down-to-earth single mom who works hard to make ends meet and provide a happy life for her children. Nora, her children, Leo and all of the side characters were charming and lovable. Despite the outrageous plot, everything felt very realistic. I also want to add that I normally loathe the miscommunication trope but this book gets a free pass from me and if you read it you’ll know why. Overall, a really enjoyable romance full of humor and heart.

This screenwriter romance made me think of the best Meg Cabot from the mid-2000's. Really enjoyed the humor and heart.

"Evvie Drake Starts Over" meets "Beach Read" in a charming tale of a single mom whose Hallmark movie-writing life is crashed by a playboy actor who refuses to leave the set (her garden house) when the shooting is over. From the loser ex who inspired her break out movie script to the kids who steal every scene to the PTA power dynamics in her small town to the "how the other half lives" glimpses of realness — this is a fast, fun read with rom-com vibes and unexpected depth.

I enjoyed the single mom, writer's life perspective and the self-referential meta-Hallmark-movie-ness of it all but I was hoping for a little more depth to that aspect. Something a little more subversive. Still — plenty of amusing and relatable lines and scenes.

Synopsis: When script writer Nora decides to write a story based on some of her own traumatic love story events rather than the perfect Hallmark meet cute she ends up learning much about herself and more to her own romance story than she ever thought possible. Just because the perfect meet cute does or doesn't happen, doesn't mean that the romance isn't meant to last forever.

Thoughts: This was a cute story and I loved how it talked not only about Hallmark romances but also real life and how things don't always happen like in a Hallmark romance in fact most of the time they don't but that doest mean your romance story isn't true. This book was a great read and I enjoyed the characters and the family aspect of it.

I loved this story. I love stories about writers and this was really a nice tender one. Well it was also sad at a point. But I loved how Nora deal with everything. She lived in a perfect house that has a spot for sun rising watching. Perdecf right?? I thing I would do the same mistakes as her. Well I have not fall in love with an actor but anyway I liked everypage of this book. A perfect combinations of feelings. Simple but deep if I can say.
The money makes you happy if you are already happy.

Thank you PHR and Netgalley for this arc and thank you Jennifer for the lovely buddy reading🤗
