Daisy and Ruby have a beautiful friendship that any kid would envy before Daisy's world is turned upside down after Ruby's unexpectedly passes away. This is a lovely book that I'd recommend to a kid who is sentimental at heart, but it falls a little on the saccharine side.

Stories exploring grief for this age group can be tricky but I'm not sure this one fully works. It's not especially engaging and may be difficult for the average reader to relate.
