The author peppers his text with dark, cynical humour and writes with a relentless energy which immediately ensnared the unsuspecting reader into a vice tight grip.
The realism here is profound and comes through the carefully crafted characters.
Genre? Haven't got a clue. It defies all known specifics and tropes and benefits for doing so. There's a real creative honesty and charm in this novel which lifts it above the competition on the book shop shelves.
