This is my first Katherine Center book, but it certainly won't be my last.
To be honest, at the beginning of the book, I wasn't sure I was going to continue because it has one of my least favorite tropes: people who run away from their troubles. Yet, I kept going, and actually, I found the story of Jack and Hannah very sweet. There is conflict, misunderstanding, and a touch of danger, of course; otherwise, there wouldn't be a story. However, I liked the main characters and their families, real and found. They struggle with real issues that we can all relate to in some way or another, and yet they find their way out through relying on each other.
I know a lot of people who are Katherine Center completists, or close to it, and I can see the appeal to her books.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.

This is so WHOLESOME, it made me feel all warm and buttery inside. I really liked the take on celebrity-bodyguard, and appreciated the gender swap between traditionally Mmc and fmc roles in this trope. If you don’t take the plot too seriously this is a great beach read and cheesy romcom that would make an extremely entertaining flick.

WOW! I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected to! This was one of the swooniest rom-coms I've ever read. And the depth of this book!? This book had me so emotional! I don't know how Katherine Center did it, but she really had me feeling such a deep connection to the characters from cover to cover.
Side note, I LOVED the fact that the FMC was the bodyguard! Such a fun trope to play with!

I loved the book. The banter was so quick and funny and sexy. It was a quick and easy read which I couldn't put down.

Katherine Center's "The Bodyguard" is a heartwarming romance that balances wit with emotional depth. Center crafts a compelling story of unexpected connections and personal growth amidst danger and intrigue. With engaging characters and a refreshing narrative, it's a captivating read that explores love's ability to heal and transform.

I heard a friend refer to this book as a warm hug of a book, and I knew I wanted to read it immediately. And I agree, there's something so warm, nice and just downright comforting about Katherine Center's books and characters. Especially the characters - so relateable!

Katherine Center has become one of my favorite authors in this genre, and The Bodyguard does not disappoint. I love how instead of the typical "damsel in distress" characters found in many rom com books, Katherine Center's female characters are independent women, who have yet to meet their other half. This was another great book by Katherine Center, and I look forward to reading her next one.

Hannah Brooks is a petite, ordinary girl working as an Executive Protection Agent-aka a hardcore bodyguard. She loves her job, her life, yet her mother's death and a broken relationship have put her in a slump. All she wants is to get away to another country, maybe London or Hong Kong.
When Hannah returns to her job, she is hired to protect the ever illustrious Jack Stapleton (think Ryan Gosselin meets Brad Pitt in his younger years). This is NOT what she signed up for--does she have a choice?
When Jack's mom gets sick, he returns to the family ranch, but he doesn't want them to know he needs protection from a corgi-loving stalker. Hannah comes with him to stay at the ranch as his protecter, but how will Jack introduce her?
The mystery of Jack's broken relationship with his family, the struggles of his past, and the layers behind Hannah and Jack's world slowly unfold.
The Bodyguard, an often predictable, but completely adorable book is worth the read. The stereotypical bodyguard character is broken, and the tables are turned.
Katherine Center, does a wonderful job with witty banter, and amusing internal dialogue by Hannah. Center creates drama, mystery, with just the right amount of G-rated romance.
A great rom-com, comfort read.

Finished this book and enjoyed it. Not my first by this author and it didn’t disappoint. The pace of the story was amazing for me and will read more in the future.

Cute little rom com. I enjoyed this one
The book was well written and entertaining. I would give 4 out 5 stars.

Thank you so much to Net Galley and the Publisher for sending me a copy of this book! I really enjoyed this book and the romance was so perfect! The characters really made you feel for them!

This is probably my favorite Katherine Center book. Hannah and Jack are an amazing couple, with relatable real world problems. It's also so nice to see such a badass female heroine.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Katherine Center has always been an auto-read author for me, and The Bodyguard was no different. It was a fun change up on the concept, since the FMC, Hannah, is the bodyguard. She's protecting Jack Stapleton, a famous actor, and her favorite actor. Well as you can guess sparks fly, chemistry is off the charts, and a nice little slow burn keeps you sucked in.
I highly recommend this book, (and all of KC"s books!)

I feel that Katherine Center has a way of pulling on my heart strings which puts her a class above many authors for me. I believe in her characters and plots because she makes them feel real to me. The Bodyguard added some silly rom com elements that had me laughing while along for the ride. Regardless of the laugh out loud moments I appreciated the elements of grief, family, and feminism.
I loved that the main character was a bodyguard and could majorly kick butt. I think that sometimes authors will take a strong female character and make them almost machine like. Center was able to fully flesh out Hannah's character and make her vulnerable yet capable. She is told by other characters in the story that she has no emotions but she feels so much and is able to compartmentalize in order to function.
I thought that grief was handled very well in the book. Readers are able to witness and journey with characters as they attempt to cope with their different losses. It was interesting to me to see how unique each was and how the family functioned in the aftermath.
I have only one criticism regarding the story. I'm not sure how I felt about the "villain". The twist regarding that aspect of the book seemed a bit out of left field. It took me out of the story and then I felt that the ending was a bit rushed after the fact.
If you are interested in reading a light hearted yet emotionally grounded story then you should definitely pick up The Bodyguard.

Hannah Brooks has a unique job that most people would never suspect. She is an executive protection agent aka elite bodyguard. So, she wasn't surprised when she was assigned to protect a famous actor, Jack Stapleton from a stalker while he is in Texas visiting his family. She soon finds herself pretending to be his girlfriend to avoid worrying his mother who is receiving treatment for cancer. What could possibly go wrong when you are pretending to date someone? This is an enjoyable, fun read for those who enjoy romantic comedies.
Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for sending this book for review
consideration. All opinions are my own.

OMG! All the emotions and i mean that in the best way possible. I loved this story and it continued to pull at my heartstrings long after reading. I love Katherine Center's writing. She knows exactly how to pull you in and not let ago..

Katherine Center does it again! I enjoyed this book so much!
The characters are unique and I enjoyed the plot a lot. The drama was believable and very realistic. Overall a great quick read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!

Katherine Center does it again! Her closed door romances are so sweet and this was no exception. I highly recommend any of her books but especially this one! The plot is so unique and her characters feel so real.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I love Katherine Center, and have been a habitual reader for years. She never disappoints and this book is no different. An enjoyable read, and if you read Center, you won't be disappointed.

Hannah, is an executive protection agent- aka bodyguard. Her current assignment: to help protect Jack Stapleton. a famous and in-demand actor. They both have their fair share of personal drama going on behind the scenes. Hannah’s boyfriend dumped her on the day of her mother’s funeral. Jack is in town to support his mother during cancer treatments but doesn't want a ton of attention. Given their proximity to one another, their cover story is that Hannah will pose as Jack's girlfriend so as not to worry his family.
I love that this was set in Texas as it's where I was born and raised. Hannah is a bada$$ and I could feel the chemistry between her and Jack......speaking of Jack, swoon!
This is my favorite Katherine Center book so far, it's one I could see myself re-reading. I look forward to reading her backlist and upcoming novels as well. 4+ stars. Loved reading and discussing this one with my #readspinrepeatbookclub
