This heartwarming and moving story tells about an elderly couple and how they were affected by both disability and the pandemic. After many years together, the roles of husband and wife are entrenched in Sarah and Frank's way of life, but when Sarah experiences illness and waning strength, it is Frank who needs to take on the caregiver role he has always witnessed in their marriage but never played. This story is about relationships and how overtime they grow, change, and continue to develop no matter what life throws at them. Some relationships fail, but others are meant to be. It is about difficult decisions and caring for loved ones. Definitely a touching and emotional read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book.

The story of Frank and Sarah is both heart warming and heartbreaking. They are devoted to each other and reminded me very much of my Great Aunt and Uncle.

This is a beautifully written and poignant book, but easy and enjoyable to read. There are moments of humour and a lot of love. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately this book didn’t grab me. I had to DNR it shortly after starting it. I do hope that others love it as the author did try to tell a story of love and strength.

In her eighty-third year of life, Sarah Saer was hospitalized after a heart attack. The timing couldn't have been worse. In the midst of her recovery, a global pandemic strikes, threatening Sarah’s recovery in ways no one could have anticipated.
In all his eighty-eight years, there was only one woman for Frank. Sarah was his devoted best friend, the selfless mother of his children, and the supportive love of his life. She dedicated herself to caring for her family, but now the tables had turned. As her strength fades, Frank must be her rock through the tumultuous health struggles ahead. Can he find the courage to hold her hand as his own heart breaks?
Journey into this story of love, hope, and heartache as one inspiring couple endures the struggles of a world in chaos. Based on a true story in the time of COVID-19. An inspirational read which I enjoyed.

I went into this story blind and my, what a moving and heartwarming story! This is a story of how a family pulled together through their dark days and how much they mattered to each other.

This story follows Frank and Sarah Saer who are in their 80s just trying to make the most of their remaining lives together until one day, Sarah had to be hospitalised due to a heart attack. That was the moment Frank realised how much he still loves Sarah to this day and how much he doesn’t want to lose her. Thankfully, Sarah survived but her strength is waning. Frank made it a point to take care of her and support her through her recovery just like how Sarah had supported him by being a selfless mother to their children and being his best friend and number one supporter throughout his life. Can Frank find the strength and courage to walk with Sarah one last time?

I really love how Frank and Sarah’s relationship is portrayed here. Their love and support for each other is very heartwarming even after they are old and grey. There were times where Sarah had wanted to give up her fight but Frank kept pushing her on but there were also times where Frank felt discouraged and lost, on the verge of giving up himself. During those times, he would find strength through his memories with Sarah and all that they have been through together. It made me wonder if I could find that same strength one day if ever I was in Sarah or Frank’s position.

This is definitely a story filled with love and strength, tough decisions one has to make for their loved ones and most of all, learning to find hope when hope is frail. Thank you Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the arc.

Keep the tissues handy as this book will rip your heart out and smash it to a thousand pieces unless you are the grinch and don’t have a heart. It’s beautiful and sad but also filled with a lot of love and hope from a family who even in the darkest days pulled together to remember family and each other is all that matters.

I don't know how I feel about this book. Don't get me wrong it is moving and I really felt for the family, however, something just doesn't sit right with me. There are many books about the pandemic currently being published and this seemed to just jump on the bandwagon – albeit from a slightly different perspective. I didn't hate it but it won't be one that I see myself going back to you regularly. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
