Lisa can tell a story like very few authors can.

Josie Quinn series is a fantastic series that you won’t want to put down.
Each book in this series tells of a case regarding murder and Josie and her team will stop at nothing to bring the case to a close with a killer or killers put in jail forever.

A must read author if you like thrillers/murder mysteries.

In the thin glow of moonlight, a mess of auburn curls gleams against the rocks. A girl’s pale hand reaches from a cleft in the boulders, waving weakly. But it’s too late. A wall of raging white water crashes down, swallowing her whole…

A knock on the door late in the evening can only mean trouble for Detective Josie Quinn, but fear chokes her at the news that one of her own team is missing. No one has seen Denton PD’s Press Liaison Amber for days and, as she follows the message scrawled on the frosted windscreen of Amber’s car to a nearby dam, Josie hears a piercing scream that tells her she’s too late. But the body they pull from the freezing water is not Amber…

Josie won’t sleep until she finds a name for the beautiful girl left to drown, and the meaning of the numbers scribbled in a tattered pink diary found on Amber’s desk. She must stay strong and focused for her close-knit team. But as rumours of an argument the night Amber disappeared surface, can she even trust her own colleagues?

Cracking the cryptic numbers reveals a twisted truth about Amber’s family – did anyone really know Amber at all? Finding her alive is Josie’s only chance of knowing the truth. But as a blizzard closes in, how many more precious lives will be snatched before she can?

Ooh, I saw a different side to the normally sweet, placid Mett in this book and I was praying it didn’t turn out the way I thought it might!

This must be the unluckiest police department though - there always seems to be some crime involved with one of the team! It gives an unlikely kind of feeling if reading the whole series (and if these things matter to you - they don’t to me as I’m just invested in the characters, not the long-game plot). It could definitely work as a standalone though.

You’ll see action, drama, twists & turns, non-stop deception, the lot!

I am beyond thrilled that Detective Josie Quinn is still going strong at Book no#13, they just get better and better with each installment!

Book #13 opens with Josie's partner, Detectiven Mettner in a bad state, his girlfriend Amber who is also part of the team, is missing. Mettner is now under suspicion as he stupidly broke into Amber's house whilst in a state of panic, trying to find clues as to where she may be,

Mettner doesn't find much, but a small clue leads the investigation to the Russel Haven dam where it appears that Amber is drowning. Josie being Josie, against better judgment jumps in to save her only to realise it isnt Amber, it's her sister Eden. Where is Amber and how did Eden and up in the dam?

The more the team investigate the more secrets and lies unfold. Mettner, who has been dating Amber for a year now dreamt know if he ever knew Amber at all.

Josie finds Amber's diary. Inside is a lost of numbers. What do they mean, what are they referencing and can Josie figure it out in time?

As of every single book in this series it is more twisty than any rollercoaster BUT also as with every book, no twist is unworthy of being in the story. Lisa regan is an absolute legend when it comes to keeping the reader on their toes from start to the very finish. Each twist makes you second guess what you thought you knew and nosedives you into a complete freefall with no idea of where you are heading next.

One of the main reasons I keep and will keep on devouring this series is the characters. They are so well written with such deep emotional depth, with each new book Lisa Regan slowly drip feeds us more and more little snippets about the characters, their lives both personal and work related and their back stories... and I'm all for it. I absolutely LOVE Josie Quinn and her team, especially Gretchen!

A fast paced, entirely captivating and thrilling read with an unexpected and explosive ending that made me gasp out loud.

The biggest thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Lisa Regan has done it again! She grabs my attention from the first word and has me holding on with both hands until the very end. The characters are well developed and I love observing the way their relationships are developing. The mystery will have you guessing until the end. Lots of twists and turns and moments that have you gasping in shock. This is a roller coaster ride of emotions and you won’t be able to stop reading until you have absorbed the last word, closed the book, and exhaled a sign of satisfaction. I strongly recommend going back to the first book in the series because there are so many aspects of the lives of the characters that build on each other and it helps to have the background. But even if you don’t have time to go back and read the first 12 books, this one is still worth reading as a standalone. Be prepared to be exhausted from a thrilling ride!

I am a huge fan of Lisa Regan’s detective Josie Quinn series and The Drowning Girls is probably my favourite. It’s fast paced and jaw dropping, full of twists and turns, lies and deception. The perfect read for any thriller aficionado.

Detective Josie Quinn is awakened by a knock on her door in the middle of the night. Detective Quinn knows it can only mean one thing, trouble. Sure enough, Amber, Denton Police Departments Press Liaison, has been missing for a few days. A clue leads Detective Quinn to a blood curdling scream at a nearby dam where a woman’s body is found in the water. Assuming it is Amber, the body is pulled from the water. But to the shock and horror of everyone it is not Amber. Who is this woman that was left to die and where is Amber? As those of us who have read the Detective Josie Quinn series, we know that she will go to the ends of the earth to find the answers to these questions.

Thank you so much Bookouture, Lisa Regan and NetGalley for my copy of The Drowning Girls in exchange for my honest review.

This was a great read and I couldn't put it down! This story involves one of the members of the police force disappearing, and Josie and her team racing against time to track her down and figure out who is behind it all. Thrilling, suspenseful and heart-pounding at times, another great book from Lisa Regan. I love this series and I hope it continues for a long time!

This is one of my favourite crime thriller series. Even though this is book 13 in the series it is still just as gripping as the first. Josie has a great team to help her fight crime but when the crime strikes close to home she starts to question everything. They realise that they don’t actually know very much about their press Liason, Amber. Will this lack of knowledge be the thing that prevents them from rescuing her in time? Josie also questions whether Mettner can be trusted as he seems to be withholding information. It did seem funny that Josie was judging him for breaking the rules when her whole career is spent breaking the rules. There was so much suspense in this book. Would they find Amber before it’s too late? Who even is Amber and who the hell can be trusted? We also get to see a more human side to Josie as she’s still learning to cope with her grief and accept the support of her family. Definitely recommend and look forward to more from this team.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This is the thirteenth book in the series featuring Detective Josie Quinn, Josie is still mourning the murder of her grandmother when her colleague Mettner knocks on her door asking for help as his girlfriend
has gone missing. Amber, a press liaison officer, is also a member of the department. Josie and Mettner find a message on the windscreen of Amber’s car sending them to the local dam. They end up pulling a body from the water thinking it was Amber but it wasn’t. They now have two cases to investigate, a murder and a missing person. As the investigation continues the body is identified as Amber’s sister, Eden. As Josie digs into Amber’s past she learns that they also had a brother Gabriel and that Amber has had a very abusive childhood. Will Josie and her team be able to put all the pieces together and find Amber before it’s too late. Another enjoyable read in this series of books, I look forward to the next one in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I am amazed at how Lisa Regan manages to raise the stakes every time and the story still feel so grounded and real. I never pause and think would this really all be happening in one town. The writing is too good for that, the characters your friends and the plots still blow my mind every time,

Another wonderful Josie Quinn book. I recommend any of this authors books. This one is about the death of a champion college swimmer who drowns in a pool all alone, that’s just the beginning, it just keeps getting better from there.

In the Drowning Girls, Amber Watts, the press liason in the police department where Det Josie Quinn and her team work is missing. It becomes apparent that they don't know as much about Amber and her past as they thought. She never spoke about her family only to say they were toxic and best left behind. Finn Mettner her colleague and boyfriend is distraught but is also acting cagey. Josie doesn't want to suspect him but he is hiding something. When a woman matching Amber's discription is found barely alive at Russell Haven Dam, the team assume it must be her but is it? This is a gripping whodunit and more importantly whydunit. I really enjoyed it. Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy.

Always a huge fan of Josie Quinn and whenever I have a chance to read one of this books I do not hesitate. This one hits close to home - one of their own is missing and there is a cryptic message to find her before time runs out. Mysterious twists and turns that had me guessing until the end and quite frankly very surprised. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Josie, Noah and the rest of team are faced with one of their tensest cases in this book. Their press liaison and friend Amber is missing and the body of a young woman who could be her double has been washed up nearby. They will have to delve deep into Amber's past to find her alive. This is a real race against time story which kept me awake into the early hours. Another 5 star book from a consistently great author.
