It was the funny, if rather long title that drew my attention to the book. I have to admit I don’t really like the book covers I have seen for this book very much. I don’t think they represent the book very well at all. Sadly, none of the covers I have seen for the book either kindle or paperback would inspire me or interest me enough to pick the book up from a bookstore shelf. In my opinion, a book like this should have a much more “fun” looking cover, perhaps with new parents or a baby on it.

This is a really short funny book that contains alternative words to use instead of those naughty sweary words we shouldn’t be saying. As the book title suggests this book is primarily aimed at new parents. I think it would make a great “gift book” for new parents as a little funny present. Everyone buys for the new baby, why not celebrate the pregnancy and give this small book as a congratulatory “tongue in cheek” gift? This book really would be ideal. Some of the alternatives are funny and creative others have you kind of thinking what?
It was rather simplistic and extremely short, though sweet in its intention. I would like to see what the actual physical book would look like, as well as how much it would cost, as it is a short book.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were as I have said above that it would make a great gift book in its physical version.

Summing up the book was so much shorter than I thought it would be! I would have loved it to be a longer book, perhaps with some possible scenarios with new parents using the alternative words around their children.

This is a short but amusing guide to minced oaths that contains lots of spirited, funny options! It includes both an alphabetical list and a guide by occasion as well as a fill-in-the-blank section to make your own unique concoction. This would be a cute, lighthearted gift for a baby shower or new parent.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a fun book. Essentially the issue is this: you are a new parent and frustration finds its way into your life too frequently. Have you thought about swearing? How do you spell relief? C'mon, everyone swears. This compendium gives you alternatives, such as using flowerbed, instead of the f word. Language matters, so why not be creative? There is even a chapter with a Mad Libs format. I read an advance of the book, so I don't any illustrations or design features, just the text. I can imagine this would be a fun purchase for a new parent. Oh, what the heck, go ahead and plunge in, build your vocabulary and keep it clean.
