The story has lots of characters to keep track of and a storyline that was somewhat hard to follow at times. It was fun once you got going into the story.

This was a messy, gossipy, wildly fun thriller with serious eat-the-rich energy—and I mean that in the best way.

The Club takes place in an exclusive, celebrity-studded resort for the ultra-wealthy, where the walls have eyes, and absolutely everyone has something to hide. The setup was addictive and cinematic—I flew through the first half, delighting in the drama, secrets, and shifting POVs. Think Big Little Lies meets The White Lotus, but with more dead bodies and less subtlety.

That said, this loses points for pacing and clarity. There were a lot of characters, and I occasionally had to flip back to remind myself who was narrating what. Some reveals felt a little telegraphed, and the final chapters started to feel more chaotic than clever.

Still, it was fun. Really fun. A sharp, darkly entertaining look at fame, power, and the people who clean up the mess behind the scenes.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper, and Ellery Lloyd for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Club is a razor-sharp, addictive mystery set in the glittering world of celebrity and exclusivity. Ellery Lloyd’s insider take on elite culture is both cutting and entertaining, offering a delicious blend of satire and suspense. With multiple perspectives and a locked-room mystery vibe, the tension builds steadily toward a bombshell climax. The writing is crisp and cinematic, and the commentary on fame, privilege, and secrecy is timely and thought-provoking. This is a page-turner that’s as smart as it is stylish—a juicy, well-crafted thriller perfect for fans of Big Little Lies and The Guest List.

This one was a struggle. I had to restart it several times. I finally got through it and it was fine.

I unfortunately did not connect with this story so after about 25% i decided to put it down. There was a slight disconnect between the writing, the characters and the plot and for that it just did not work for me.

The Home Group isn’t just a chain of elite members-only clubs; it’s a world within a world, a gated paradise for the untouchable elite. From New York penthouses to Parisian hideaways, the Group offers sanctuary, secrecy, and whatever indulgence money can buy.

But nothing compares to Island Home—an ultraluxurious, highly guarded retreat just off the English coast. The exclusive three-day launch party is the event of the decade, where power, wealth, and fame collide behind locked doors. No cameras. No paparazzi. No rules.

For CEO Ned Groom, Island Home is his crowning achievement—a palace for the world’s most powerful, built on whispers, favors, and a bottomless budget. But behind the gold-plated façade, cracks are forming. The staff are exhausted, the costs are spiraling, and even Ned’s most trusted team is keeping secrets of their own.

And that’s before the guests arrive.

A-list actors, media moguls, billionaires, influencers—all of them carry sins they can’t afford to be exposed. But the thing about secrets is that they don’t stay buried forever. As the party spirals into chaos, betrayal, and bloodshed, guests start to realize:

At this club, membership is for life.

And no one leaves.

THE CLUB starts building steam from page 1 as the privileged members of a very exclusive club prepare for the ultimate party. When a body is found, the party goers will start looking at their friends a little differently. Exciting premise played with a surprise in every chapter.

I loved the plot, as it contained certain elements that I always enjoy: rich people drama, luxury lifestyles, and multi-layered mysteries to be unraveled. Great premise and solid character development, but the story didn’t flow as well as what I’d hoped.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper for providing me with an ARC of this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Torn on this because I usually really, REALLY like books by Ellery Lloyd.... but this one just didn't do it for me. I couldn't connect to it well. Maybe it's a me-problem and not a book-problem, and because of that, I won't review this anywhere outside of NetGalley. I'd hate my issues with it t9 unfairly put off another reader. I also 0lab to actively search for books by Lloyd in the future, as I know there is talent there. This book just wasn't it for me, sadly.

The Clubs can be found around the world and the wealthy are dying to join. Good thing I'm not wealthy, or dying to join. The Club just didn't hit it for me. Most of the time while reading, it felt like I was just reading the words to finish the book. This was painful for me to finish and was almost my first DNF.

This was a difficult read to finish. Wanted to love it but the plot fell apart for me. The idea itself was strong and there was great character development, but the story didn’t flow as well as what I’d hoped.

I loved this book! It's well-written, enjoyable, and a great read. Ellery Lloyd did a great job of writing in a way that captures the readers attention, and makes you not want to put it down until you're finished! I would highly recommend it!

Thank you for a free E-Arc of this book! This book was a wild ride. I loved the premise of the story. The characters were interesting and each had a purpose in the story. The idea of an exclusive club was not a new concept, but the way the author spun the plot as well as the layers of mystery surrounding the club was unique! I finished this book in less than a day. Well done!

DNF at 36%. It’s boring and it’s jumpy and I’m having trouble following it. Setting it down for now. Tried it on both kindle and audio. Not for me.

Thank you for the review edition of this book.

I like a book that has the mystery of an exclusive club. This book did not fall short of my expectations. It was a wild ride and I enjoyed the whole thing.

This book started out with twisted storylines, with murder and secrets and you would think this will be great it had a very soap opera feel but something was missing and I felt as if It took more energy keeping the characters sorted out trying to figure now who was that character and what did they do again? I felt like the author has it out for celebrities lol.. It was kind of outlandish but a little predictable at the same time.
I give it a 3.5 because this could be a great visual experience if ever turned into a mini series of some sort If some changes were made.

This one was not a hit for me. A little slow, so many characters, and then it all wrapped up so quickly.

The Club was a mystery about a highly exclusive clubs across the world but as they're opening the newest location, tempers are flaring and the newest island getaway leads to mysterious death.

This book was very lackluster to me: very little character development and overall, too much time focusing on the exclusivity of the clubs that I didn't care to find out about the actual deaths or any mystery surrounding it.
