This book was everything I could hope for - twisty, turns, dark, but with enough heart to make you root for some of the characters.
I loved the way it alternates between the Vanity Fair article and the characters.
It kept me guessing right until the end, which I loved! Perfect if you’re looking for a fast paced and fun read.

One of the most entertaining books I've read in a while! Kept my attention (and also kept me from housework cuz I couldn't put it down) I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves thrillers and ones that keep you guessing. You also KNOW it's gonna be good if Reese Witherspoon picked it for her book club. Happy Reading! Thank you to Harper and Netgalley for the ARC!

“There is no place like Home…”
Quick Summary: THE CLUB is about Home. What is Home? It’s a group of exclusive celebrity clubs around the globe. The aim of Home is to provide A-listers a ‘home’ where they can feel comfortable and away from prying eyes. The latest addition ‘Island Home’ is the location of a 3-day grand opening party that everyone wants to be on the invite list.
Hey Siri, play “Bad Habits” by Ed Sheeran. This book is chock full of not-likable celebs and staff with bad habits & secrets.
Written from multiple POVs, THE CLUB takes a bit to really get going. This makes sense considering these are fictional celebs and we need to have a picture painted of how famous they are, etc. Additionally, there are a lot of characters so I needed more description just to remember who is who.
I ended up liking this book more than I expected! I’ve seen mostly average reviews for it but was pleasantly surprised. This is a ‘whodunnit’ mystery but you’re not really sure who died until later.
One of my favorite parts of THE CLUB is a fictional Vanity Fair article that is revealed in chunks throughout the story. It basically reveals what happened during the 3-day party written from the future. This was clever and I liked how it helped keep the pace of the story going.
THE CLUB is the March 2022 @reesesbookclub selection. This book is perfect for fans of THE GUEST LIST by Lucy Foley and for fans of Agatha Christie.

SYNOPSIS
Home is one of the most sought after memberships in the world. When you belong to Home, you know that you have reached the peak of your celebrity. So when Home announces the opening of Island Home with a launch party, everyone is clamoring for one of the 150 invites.
However, there comes a point when something becomes too big and too much. On the opening weekend of Island Home, someone goes missing, a body is discovered, and secrets that have been buried for years are finally coming out.
WHAT I LIKED
💗 the exclusivity of the setting and the notoriety of the characters
💗 the story is told from multiple point of views
💗 how everything that had been brewing for years culminated at this one weekend
WHAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
✖️ the interruptions between chapter with a news article about the weekend
✖️ the big reveals weren't that surprising because you are able to work them out before then

The Home is an exclusive group of celebrity members’ clubs around the world. At the opening of their latest and greatest club - Island Home, things go very wrong. With so many selfish people on the island, there are many people who could be behind it all.
This book starts with the reader knowing someone is missing and/or dead and it grabs your attention from the start. I spent the book trying to piece together connections and solve the mystery of what happened. There were so many layers that kept coming out making this such a complex story. There were 4 POVs and so many side characters so to see how all of the stories were woven together was fascinating. I really enjoyed this one!
Thank you to Harper for the advanced copy!

I love that slow burn of this locked room mystery. I’ve always been a fan of multiple points in a book and this didn’t let me down. A peek inside of the exclusive club lifestyle swept me away.

Well, I have to say, the description really had me interested. However, it honestly did not live up to my expectations at all. I get the idea, I really do, it just left so much to be desired with this one.

I loved this one!!!! It had a great plot and excellent character insight at it is written from alternating point of views. Imagine working at one of the most exclusive clubs for the most rich, famous, and powerful individuals in the media. Their exorbitant fees for membership are meant to provide them with not just over the top accommodations but also complete privacy to do as they like.
At another over the top club location grand opening, people die, people lie, and mayhem ensures
This book is perfect if you love a juicy story with a plot line that keeps you guessing.

I really enjoyed the prior book from this author duo so I was excited to read The Club. Unfortunately, it was not as good. The first part of the book was slow, about 50% through, it finally started to pick up and the pieces came together. The ending was okay, not particularly satisfying. Overall, it was an okay book! 3/5 stars. Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was an interesting concept for a thriller but unfortunately just did not fully land for me. I felt that the book started too slowly with it hard to follow the many points of view. When it came to the ending, I almost felt like it wrapped up a bit too quickly. I will say the setting was great and there were interesting character dynamics that made me keep reading.
Thank you to the publisher via Net Galley for an ARC of this title.

Welcome to 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 where a glamorous collection of celebrity member clubs are dotted across the globe. Where the rich and famous can party hard and then crash out in its five-star suites, far from the prying eyes of fans and the media.
Things are about to get sinister and the body count is piling up, some of Island Home’s members will begin to wish they’d never made the guest list.

I've read that under this author name Ellery Lloyd it's actually a husband & wife duo team writing together. Kudos to them. Although I own "𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎" (their debut novel) I haven’t picked it up just yet.
However with "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃" I wasn't that impressed. The book rotates POV between Jess, Adam, Nikki, and Annie. Additionally, there are a lot more characters on top of that—too many characters to the point that they were difficult to keep track. My biggest pet peeve in books. The story moved too slowly with too many stories to follow.
There were many times I'd lose interest and have a hard time engaging into a story when the half page is wasted by describing an object or a surrounding. Overall, it missed the mark for me.

The Club by Ellery Lloyd took some time to get into the plot, but once it did, you couldn't put it down. Great plot twists and a satisfying conclusion. If you haven't already I highly suggest that you go out now and purchase yourself a copy. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper for this copy.

What goes on at this private, elite and very exclusive "club" might surprise you as you follow these privileged and devious characters. The Club is a quick read with some surprising twists that will keep you entertained and guessing.

I really liked the premise of this book. There were some execution issues though. It felt like too many characters to keep track of and there were so many individual stories and sub plots it got a bit muddied. Overall a good concept and fairly good read.

Home is an ultra exclusive club with locations around the world and reserved for only the wealthiest celebrities. The opening of the newest location, Island Home, is sure to be the event of a lifetime. When people start disappearing, there are many people who could be responsible. What secret is Home really hiding?
I liked the plot, but I didn't love any of the characters. I was intrigued by the premise and enjoyed how the storylines unfolded. I wish there had been a few more likeable qualities to some of the characters so that I could root for them to find happiness. I didn't dislike them, but there wasn't enough compelling character development to get me to love them. Fans of The Guest List by Lucy Foley will enjoy the twists and turns in this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper for the free digital copy to review.

So I'm sitting here trying to write the review for this one which I read last week and honestly....I can't remember anyone's name. I know there was an exclusive club called Home on an island. There was a couple of murders. And someone did it.
Yeah, that's about it. And it's not my fault I can't remember the characters because I remember other books. It was just that forgettable. And there were far too many characters as well. There were a couple of good twists and it was a fast read, but those moments didn't push it past a three star read for me. Oh, and I liked the setting. That was well done.
This thriller? There are better ones out there.
Thanks @netgalley for my copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Club ~ Ellery Lloyd 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This barnburner starts with a black Land Rover speeding down a causeway before the tide comes in. Something terrible has just happened…
Welcome to Home, a collection of glamorous celebrity members only clubs spattered across the globe. A place where the rich and famous party and retreat to 5 star suites. Island Home is the newest addition for illustrious owner Ned Groom and his team. Behind schedule and over budget Island Home’s opening weekend is to die for. Everyone has secrets the question is what are they willing to pay to keep those secrets from spilling out.
This book was beyond fantastic. Short yet sinister chapters. Told from the pov of multiple characters. And storylines so twisted.
This is a must read of the season.

I really enjoyed this book! Told from the perspective of four different characters, this mystery is set in an exclusive celebrity club on an island, where weekend launch party goes horribly wrong. This is a fun rich people book, with a lot of parallels to celebrity culture.
While nothing mind blowing, this book really held my interest and unraveled in an interesting way. I would definitely read more from these authors!

I can honestly say I’ve never wanted to be a celebrity, and, after reading The Club, it sounds like that’s been wise! This story is filled with so many interesting characters - the owners of the exclusive clubs (brothers), their staff (Nikki the PA, Annie the membership manager), and the celebrities themselves. I enjoyed this roller coaster ride!

I enjoyed this suspenseful story. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed and look forward to reading more in the future. This is a well written story about joining a club but the only thing about this club is that you cannot leave it. You don't want to miss what happens in this club. A story that is full of action and twists and turns that you won't see coming. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. They kept the story engaging and supportive of each other. They bring the story to life on each page and made the story entertaining to read. I also enjoyed how the author's use of details made the story realistic. It has great growth throughout as well. This is a great story that I truly enjoyed and how the characters just made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.
