This one was pretty underwhelming. So there are some people dead on an exclusive island for celebrities. We spend the whole book learning what led up to these deaths and why they occurred. In the end I determined that I absolutely didn't even care, even a tiny bit, about any of them. So unfortunately, this one was a miss for me.

This was a quick read for me!
Everyone's Dying to Join . . .are you??
Welcome to the The Home Group this is a glamorous collection of celebrity members' clubs that are dotted across the globe, where only the rich and famous can party hard and then crash out in its five-star suites, far from the prying eyes of fans and the media.
The most spectacular of all is Island Homes is a a closely-guarded, ultraluxurious resort, this location is just off the English coast and there will be a three-day launch party this is easily the most coveted A-list invite of the decade.
Behind the scenes tempers are flaring, the owners of The Club are Ned and Adam the budget is stretched and there has been countless delays. How will Ned be able to keep his Club running? Everyone is at their breaking point secrets people are hiding secrets, we soon witness within a a day, bodies begin piling up, and all the dirty secrets come to light, despite all the measures taken to keep them hidden.

This is a suburban drama rich people behaving badly thriller. It was good and fast paced.
It takes place on an island where only members can get in. However the group going have secrets and unknown grudges about others so things will go wrong and turn into a murder mystery. Great fun read!

"The Club" by Elderly Lloyd offers an intriguing premise that had me curious from the start. While the mystery aspect kept me engaged, I found the pacing to be a bit uneven, with moments of excitement interspersed with slower segments. The characters were intriguing but felt somewhat underdeveloped, leaving me wanting more depth in their personalities. While the book kept me entertained, I couldn't help but wish for a more consistent flow and deeper exploration of the story's potential.

Unfortunately, this one missed the mark for me. I was only able to make about half way through, before I ended up calling this a DNF.

I really enjoyed this book- it contained all the best parts of suspense, multiple narration, and the twists. I did not figure out the ending until the twists were revealed. I would say - the ending (last 10% or so) seemed long.

This book had great characterization, excellent story telling, and made me want to keep reading. I will continue to read from this author and look out for their new releases.

This one was... not great.
Honestly I almost stopped at about the 30% mark, but one review said it gets better if you can make it past the 50% mark, so I trudged on. It did get better toward the end and I liked how everything wrapped up... but getting there was tough.
There was just too many characters and it was hard to follow their backstory (was she the one who lost her parents? was she the one who was the personal assistant? what was her job again?). Then there are other storylines with other characters introduced and it was just too much. There are WAY too many people that are mentioned. This book would have been better if it had focused on two or three people and told their stories, rather than entangle others (the woman with the daughter? what was the point of all of those pages about her?).
Anyway, this is rich people behaving badly. It's about blackmail and revenge and people die. But it could have been better.

The premise of an exclusive club for the rich where murders occur sounded right up my alley. It was hard for me to keep track of each POV which made it a little clunky for me. The atmosphere was great and the end picked up the pace! I want to give Lloydโs People Like Her a try after reading this one

Something about reading about celebs and the ultra wealthy feels like such a guilty pleasure indulgence. Reading this book felt like i had a backstage pass to witness all of the drama, secrets and murders and it was such a fun getaway. Only, I got to leave the Club when finished!

I really struggled with this book. I picked it up numerous times only to get frustrated and give up. There were too many characters and it was very hard to keep them straight. The storyline was also a little convoluted for my taste. In the end the stories all came together but it was rough getting there.

I love a good mystery, especially a dark and broody mystery about an exclusive hotel full of over-privileged people. I had high hopes but this book fell a little flat due to the plot holes and one dimensional characterization. If there were 25 more pages, this book could have been perfect.

Major DNF from me. I made it barely 20% and had to give up. I really wanted to enjoy this one, but it just didn't grab me or give me anything to keep reading on.
*Thank you Harper for the copy in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF."

I didn't love it, and I didn't hate it. I just didn't vibe with this book. I think I had higher expectations for it.

My rating: 2 stars
*sigh*... Where to even begin with this one? So you know that Dua Lipa "go girl, give us nothing" meme? That's this book.
The idea of a thriller set at an exclusive club for society's wealthiest elite sounds incredibly intriguing, right? Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Instead, we get 320 pages of nothing. Literally nothing happens until maybe 85% into the book. In addition to zero plot, there were way too many characters to keep track of and too many useless backstories. Why did we need to know about all these people? Who cares?? And then the big reveal at the end was so anticlimactic, it didn't even matter at that point. Ugh, this was such a slog to get through, I won't remember anything about it past today and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.
I read Ellery Lloyd's debut novel "People Like Here" a while back. While it wasn't a favorite, I thought it had some interesting ideas and plot points, and I was looking forward to reading the author duo's sophomore novel. I think, at this point, I need to come to terms with the fact that they are not the authors for me.

I got lost in the way of the story or maybe it just stalled out for me. It was from multiple viewpoints and it did go into a heavy explanation of the club. The club is extremely exclusive with a lot of over privileged guests.
Thank you #netgalley for the advance copy

Hard to keep all the cast straight with this one. Overall a good mystery. Some things I figured out and other twists that surprised me. It did take a while to get into but that may have been just because I kept forgetting who was who.

I read the authors debut and really enjoyed it! I really liked this one as well and found it very fast paced!

A gripping book where ambition, secrets, and glamour collide in an elite celebrity members' club. In a similar vein to Lucy Foleyโs The Guest List and Sandie Jones The Guilt Trip. This book is set in a remote location where all the characters are trapped together.
The owner of Island Home, Ned is throwing the massive party for the elite of the elite. The book cycles through the different perspectives of the island staff as they prepare to pull off the opening of the latest club.
Interspersed with the dueling perspectives from each of the characters, there are articles from Vanity Fair detailing the events of the party and the events leading up to it.
The Club by is a tantalizing and suspenseful read that transports you into the world of elite celebrity clubs, where glamour and secrets intertwine. Lloyd's vivid descriptions and well-drawn characters make it easy to become immersed in the story as we follow the protagonist on her dangerous quest to expose the truth. The plot is filled with twists and turns, keeping readers on their toes. Youโre constantly questioning who is lying, who can be trusted, and what really happened.
If the book has a โflawโ, the pacing can be a bit slow but the author's ability to create tension and build anticipation more than compensates for any lulls. This is a solid 4-star read that provides a glimpse into the exclusive world of fame, while reminding us that appearances can be deceiving and not everything is as it seems.
Reminiscent of a classic murder mystery or whodunnit, I enjoyed this book. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper and the Authors for the ARC copy of this book.

Really enjoyed this one.
*******spoiler alert ******************
Revenge is a dish best served cold. These men have no idea what the women in this novel are capable of.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned (or abused, mistreated). Some of the murderers have waited years, even decades, to exact their revenge.
