This was fine. I'm not sure why so many nonfiction works are half memoir, half topic (In the Valleys of the Noble Beyond: In Search of the Sasquatch was like that, among others).

As a life-long alto (and occasional support tenor for songs with really high tenor bits!) it was hard to like this narrator. She was a bit whiny about the run-of-the-mill rough patches in her life, plus she had the annoying soprano outlook. At least she was honest about thinking her part was most important? Not a great look.

The rest of the info was an interesting and varied history, not at all inclusive, but fun. I sang in general and elite student choirs through high school and into college, did some musical theater, and participated for a few years in a community chorus.
