I didn’t connect immediately but I like the concept of this book. There are a lot of characters introduced immediately and I had trouble focusing on the two mains.

I was drawn to this preview because of its synopsis. I mean, who doesn't like a good fake dating relationship? Add a wedding and SOLD!.

The preview really drew me in. This is an interesting twist on reality love shows. I liked that this story takes you week by week of the show and tells the dual POV through the confessions. These made the story unique for me.

I enjoyed the author's writing and how she create the characters. I was drawn into the story and their lives. I found them to be relatable.

I can't wait to get a hold of the full version of the book.

Two Black lesbians are chosen to be contestants on a reality fake-dating TV show. They must convince their families that they are engaged. This task is made easier by the presence of real chemistry between D’Vaughn and Kris. However, as their feelings get more intense for each other, the two must decide how much of their relationship they want to be fake.

D’Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding was a delightful read that I would pick up again in a heartbeat.

The characters have good communication (a big green flag for me), and this book is sweet while also serving some spice.

Another one of my favorite parts of this book was the different family dynamics represented.

The way I loved this book y'all. Super queer, sapphic romance between a Black woman and an AfroLatinx woman who go on a reality dating show (think a combo of married at first sight and 90 day fiancée).
Kris was freaking swoony as hell.
But what really impressed me was how the book tackled topics like racism and stereotypes within communities of color, familial acceptance, coming out, religion, and more.
What kept it from getting 5 stars was that the tv show plot line gets a little convoluted in spaces.
I definitely recommend this one for romance readers.

A slice of this romantic pie had me craving the whole thing!

Chencia C. Higgins did a great job of putting us right into the story with the right amount of setting details and character background. There is also an instant chemistry between Kris & D'Vaughn that doesn't come off as cringey or unbelievable. I'm excited to see where the rest of this book takes me. I don't preorder books often, but this one, I had to!

A very fun premise: a reality show where they have to convince their family and friends they're getting married to a stranger in a few weeks. The MCs are loveable, and I loved reading about them. It's really great to see both butch and fat representation as the protagonists! A great preview that absolutely made me want to buy the book!

D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding takes a new spin on the reality TV dating scene. Featuring saphic relationships with poc is refreshing to say the least. I will say though, I was a bit confused about the show structure It felt a bit abrupt in the transition from the cast meeting one another to the first date scene. An introduction to the shows concept could help clarify some of the questions I had; are the initial pairs meant to be their fiances for the duration of the show or will they get the chance to go on multiple dates with different people and then be paired on who they seemed to have the most chemistry with.

Thanks to NetGalley for the preview.

I thought this book was just okay. I wish Kris and D’Vaughn had more development with their romance and I wasn’t the biggest fan of having public affection in public so often. I did like parts of the book though like with their families.

I thoroughly enjoyed this preview and ended up really loving the full book upon it's release. I particularly liked that there was no third-act breakup in it as this is one of my least favourite parts of any romance book. It is a book I will be recommending to all of my friends.

Disclaimer: I’ve only read the preview so far.

I’ve ordered a physical copy weeks ago and I’m anxiously awaiting its arrival. Fortunately NetGalley has the preview to tide me over. Or so I thought, now that I’ve read a bit, I’m even more impatient to read the entire book.

D’Vaughn and Kris had chemistry starting from the first meeting, surely the best conditions to win the challenge! I’m really excited about the reality TV show/competition setting, big fan of that trope and so little books out there. I like how it’s part of the book with the short Jitter Cam chapters which gives us more insight in our main characters private thoughts.

I can’t really say much more currently, but once I get my hands on this book I’ll definitely update you all!

I'm a sucker for the falling in love on reality television trope it seems, because this book has hooked me! I will be buying this as an ebook to read the whole thing in the next month or so. It gives me Love & Other Disasters meets The Charm Offensive vibes, both books are top tier in my opinion so the comparison is high praise! I also love that we get to see their confessional style commentary! I think it is a fun addition and makes it stand out from other books similar to it!

I read the first part of this book as a NetGalley preview!
This setup has so many tropes I love. Reality show contemporary? Fake dating? So good! I also really liked how much different representation was included from the very start (including characters who differ in race, gender, sexuality, body type, and religion). The main characters are both Black lesbians which is amazing.
I liked how quickly in the book the two leads met and started getting to know each other without wasting a lot of time. I hope that they find happiness and I desperately need to read the rest of this book to make sure everything goes okay! I'm going to finish it ASAP!!

I enjoyed this sample! The concept was really intriguing, and I think I’ll want to pick up the entire book sometime soon! This seems really cute, and like there will be a combination of romance, drama, and conflict. The reality tv setting of this seems like it will add an interesting spin on the fake dating trope! I also like that there are POVs from both main characters,
