Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC. Although this review is for the audiobook format, it applies equally to the novel.

In this story Flynn Dalton, a construction worker has to deal with her girlfriend's psychic abilities and a haunted pond that wants her dead. The audiobook is narrated by *Lila Rose who does a great job of bringing the characters life and adds some humor and charm to the narration.

The audiobook blends elements of horror, mystery, and romance.
I am a bit biased (after all, our reviews are "literally" our opinions) being a huge fan of well-crafted mysteries and police procedurals, some horror (think Bentley Little or Stephen King) but almost zero "romance".

The characters in this book are likable and relatable, especially Flynn, who struggles with her own fears and insecurities. The chemistry between her and her girlfriend Genesis is "cute" as far as that goes.

Although not my particular cuppa this story should appeal to fans of paranormal romance, especially those who like stories with strong female protagonists, psychic powers, ghosts, curses, and danger.

It is an introduction to the Nearly Departed series, which promises more adventures for Flynn in future books.

DNF'd this audiobook. The content just wasn't for me, but I can definitely see the appeal for other audiences.

Dead Woman's Pond takes us on the journey of Flynn and Gen, with time jumping back between the beginning of their relationship and then back to present day occurrences. In the beginning, Flynn has a car accident, that she finds out from Gen she is lucky to have survived, as she could have easily been pulled over into the Dead Woman's Pond - a pond that has been dubbed this nickname because of the multiple deadly accidents where numerous women have lost their lives over the past few years. Flynn finds herself back by the body of water multiple times, and discovers that she can see ghosts during a foray with Gen by the water, as they are being watched by someone familiar, who isn't really there.

We follow along with Flynn and Gen as they take a journey into discovering why so many women, all of whom are gay/bisexual, are being killed by this body of water. How far they have to go is disturbing to them both, but can they come back from it all?

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Thank you to OrangeSky Audio and Elle E. Ire for the ARC audiobook in return for a true and honest review. I highly recommend this read!

I was surprised as the story unfolded to discover it was a paranormal, F/F, thriller/mystery romance as I had not read the synopsis or reviews and went based on my assumption of the cover that this was going to be a mystery/thriller. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next book to continue on in the lives of Flynn and Genesis.
Thanks to NetGalley for the audio eARC.

This book had such a unique premise that I had to check it out. Plus, I live near Orlando so I like to support local authors! On the surface, this looks like a light supernatural thriller/mystery but I also felt it had a lot to say about today’s world- bigotry, misogyny, the instability of contract work without benefits, just trying to make ends meet. The supernatural undertones started to come out more as the book progressed and I’m intrigued to see more of that world building in future books!

What a wonderful cover. I was hooked before even beginning the audiobook!

I loved the mystery, the paranormal elements and the LGBTQIA+ inclusion as well.

There were some bits I didn't love but overall this was a solid thriller 🤩

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I was expecting it to be more of a mystery/thriller than it was but it was more than I expected. I love the unique twist on paranormal romance.

I loved getting to know Flynn, she felt real and was very easy to relate to. The author did a great job showing what it's like to live in a wealthy tourist town when you're not wealthy yourself. We get to see a lot of Flynn's issues and struggles while getting to know both her and her girlfriend, Gen. Their relationship was portrayed well, it was real and they had fight and make ups. The characters are flawed and loveable.

The twists and turns in the story had me hooked. I'm really looking forward to the next book, especially after the ending.

Rebecca Lowman's narration was great. She embodied Flynn perfectly and really brought the story to life.

Flynn Dalton; More than just the woman of my dreams….but I digress.

Flynn Dalton is a down on her luck construction worker who hates public displays of affection, or anyone knowing too much about her, or any attention at all. She meets and falls in love with Genesis, a gorgeous fem Medium. Flynn claims to have no belief in the supernatural but is interested enough in Genesis to be tolerant of it as long as it’s not used on her.

Seems she has had her own experiences with the Supernatural that she never talks about. Ever.
Then one day on her way home, her truck is pulled toward the haunted pond that has taken the lives of at least 5 people. Five women, to be more specific, five lesbians.

Flynn survives but is now haunted by her ex, the 1st victim of the pond.

This book is a whirlwind of excitement. It moves at a runaway train pace and all you can do is hold on and pray that everything works out for our loving duo.

The fact that the main characters are lesbians is incidental to the story. Hate started the curse, and love will stop it. The rest is beside the point. Flynn and Gen could be a straight couple and the story would work, with some minor changes. The fact that they are proud, loving woman, just makes it all that much better.

I could not stop listening to the Audiobook. The narrator; Rebecca Lowman, brings all the characters, especially Flynn to life. Her reading is excellent and went a long way to add to my enjoyment of this book.

I loved everything about this book. It was exciting, the romance was realistic and fun, the dialog is believable. If you know Central Florida, you will recognize the town the story is set in. And personally, I can buy all of this happening there.

This is my first book from this author, but I plan to look for others she has written and I eagerly await the next in this new series. It can’t come too soon for me.

Highly recommended.

Thanks to @Netgalley, Orangesky Audio, and Elle E. Ire for the chance to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Unfortunately, I was not able to finish this book. It was just not for me. I had a hard time connecting with the character, though the writing was without spelling or punctuation errors.

I thought this book was a different twist on an LGBTQ+ paranormal romance, with some thriller and suspense sprinkled in. I did think it tended to lean towards the romance and paranormal though when I would have preferred it lean into the thriller aspect. I did enjoy learning about the curse of the pond and also learning about Flynn and Jen's abilities with the supernatural though. It also appears to be the first of a series so if you enjoy this one there should be another. Overall, this was a bit out of my realm of enjoyment but did find some value in it. I think others who enjoy paranormal romance would enjoy this more than I did.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this book in return for a honest review.

Dead Woman's Pond was entertaining from beginning until the end. This book follows Flynn and her girlfriend Jen through a wild ride of supernatural and paranormal experiences. The pond in their small Florida town has taken many women, all of whom are in same sex relationships. Flynn is almost one of the pond's victims, but luckily she is able to survive the crash, but her serving opens up a whole new world that she was reluctant to believe was real.

I thought this book was a different twist on a paranormal romance. I enjoyed learning about the curse of the pond and also learning about Flynn and Jen's abilities with the supernatural. I didn't particularly like how Flynn handled situations with her relationship with Jen, or how she presented herself to others around her. She was overly aggressive and constantly questioned her relationship with Jen -- seeming to run at every turn if something went wrong.

I really enjoyed learning and seeing both Flynn and Jen's abilities strengthen throughout the book. Mediums and para-sensitivity has always been an interest of mine and I love seeing different interpretations of those subjects in books.

Big Thank you to OrangeSky Audio and Netgalley for this copy and audiobook which I have reviewed honestly

Thank you NetGalley and Orange sky audio for accepting to send me an audio copy of the book.

When I read that it’s the story of a lesbian and her psychic girlfriend I had to get it. I mean a WlW thriller? Sign me in.

And it’s a pretty good book. The suspense is good, the characters aren’t bad. But sometimes I really wanted to slap them. I love ghosts too and complicated love stories and magic and dark magic.

But sometimes there’s a lot happening and not little time. But it’s just the first volume. Also, the straight men in this book are way too confident with the d-slur

There's queer rep, but a lot of tw like homophobic crime, violence against women, death, murder, homophobia, lesbophobia, slurs

Dead Woman’s Pond is a supernatural thriller/crime drama/romance and is a nice balance of each, slightly heavier on the romance but not overwhelmingly so. The story follows Flynn - a construction worker, and Gen (Genesis) - her famous psychic girlfriend. They are a couple that has connections to the supernatural, although Flynn is fairly new to her connection. There are ex-lovers, both alive and departed, and mysteries to solve all while trying to make their relationship work in their Florida town. Overall this was a decent book, well written and interesting, but there were occasionally moments that pulled me out of the story. Many times during the story I was reminded of Charlaine Harris books, not that this is a bad thing, it just seemed like an influence.

This is the first of a series and there are times that you can tell that something will be brought up in the future but things weren’t left open- ended enough to where the book can’t stand on its own.

Also, Rebecca Lowman is a fantastic narrator and really pulls you into the story and keeps you there.
