Penny is the only pig lives in a horse farm. And of course she didn't fit in. She eats differently from the horses, she do things that horses won't do, and she talk in her pig language. So she felt lonely. Then she tried to fit in but that also doesn't work. To fit in a place is not easy, but it will be better when your friends make effort to include you too. What a heart warming story!

A really sweet story about a little pig who tries too hard to fit in.

Penny is the only pig on a farm full of horses. As she is lonely, she decides to “change” into a horse so that the actual horses would include her as their friend. Her attempts result in dismay. But the horses make her realise that she is a perfectly fine pig, and they decide to adapt their activities so that Penny feels more included.

This is a great story from the points of view of both Penny and the horses. Penny’s arc teaches kids how they just need to be themselves and they don’t need to bend over backward and change their personalities in order to make others like them The horses’ behaviour shows how we must be inclusive of everyone and not stick to our kind. Adaptations and adjustments are necessary in friendship and one mustn’t look at this as a sacrifice. The book delivers all these ideas very effectively.

The language of the story is simply and easy to understand. There are many funny scenes and kids are sure to laugh as loudly as the horses on seeing Penny’s attempts at a makeover.

The illustrations are pretty cute too. They are in a kind of watercolour effect so they appear very fluid and natural. They suit the story perfectly.

This would be a fabulous book for home as well as school. It entertains, and it educates!

Penny is the only pig on the horse farm and she finds herself becoming very lonely. So, she decides she's going to turn herself into a horse. After the first attempt, the horses are surprised but not fooled. Instead, they all start laughing, telling Penny she looks more like a fine porcupine. The second attempt turns out much like the first, and on and on it goes, until finally, the horses ask her why she wants to be a horse. When Penny replies, the horses let her know right there and then, that they like her just the way is and she shouldn't change a thing.
This is a truly cute book with a 5-star review that every child and parent alike will enjoy. So I'll let you do just that, and let you find out for yourself, exactly how it ends.

I read this book with my four year old daughter and she really enjoyed it!

The book was easy to read and follow and we had fun reading it together at bedtime.
The illustrations in the book were quite simple but lovely and really suited the book.

It was well written and we loved seeing the different things that Penny got up too and the ending was fun too - it is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

Very cute story about a piggy, with very cute lovely art.
My main complaint about this one is that it needed more rhymes. Or at least no rhymes.
Sometimes it rhymed, sometimes it didn't, and that messed up the reading rhythm.

This book is adorable! I loved the watercolor and vivid illustrations. I loved the humor and word play. I loved the message that you don't need to try to be something you're not, and that what you are is just perfect! This book captured the attention of the children I read it to, and they really liked the pictures. I have to agree, as Penny's little piggy face is just soooo cute!

This is a cute book. I love the story and the illustrations will keep the kids glued to the book. All the animals have their own personalities. They look like they would be fun to know in real life.

Penny the horse was such a cute childrens book! I needed up picking up a copy for my little cousin because I think she will love it!

Sweet little Penny is the lone pig on a farm full of horses. She tries to fit in with the horses by copying the horses, to their great amusement. When they realize that she feels left out and is trying to fit in, the horses make more of an effort to include her and show her they appreciate her for who she is. A lovely tale about valuing differences and staying true to who you are as the best way to make friends.

This book is adorable. The words and pictures are engaging. The story teaches a lesson about acceptance and self-esteem. Something for everyone to learn!

Awe, this book was so cute! Penny tries everything to be like the horses because of course, that is how she thinks she will fit in and get the horses approval. The horses surprise Penny by telling her they like her just the way she is!

The illustrations are fun and colorful. This book would be really fun to read with a class, there could be projects where the kids try to make themselves look or sound like a horse, or look or sound like a pig.

This is such a beautiful storybook!

The story talks about a little pig who lives with the horses and feeling quite out of place.

She tries her best to fit in but becomes frustrated that she couldn't be a horse after all.

But then we never know how things can change for the best when we accept ourselves and let others accept us as we are.

Love the idea.

With gorgeous watercolor illustrations, this book depicts what it's like to try to fit in and fail when you are trying to be someone you aren't. Funny while also packing the punch of a great lesson of being who you are and inviting others in, this is a very sweet read.

She's the only pig around, and she does everything she can think of to look more like the horses, and speak their language. But of course, where she really shines is when she is exactly herself, and when she's honest and open with the horses who will love her anyway. It's a great message, surrounded by adorable illustrations and lovable characters.

I absolutely adored this book! I loved the story, the message, the pictures, just everything about it. The art was fantastic. I loved the watercolors. I loved Penny who just wanted friends and to be a horse. Tatiana Christie wrote such an excellent story that was engaging and relatable. I can’t wait to buy this book for friends having kids.

The illustrations are beyond beautiful! I loved the watercolour pictures on each page they were simply adorable.

Cute story featuring the loveable Penny, she was seriously so heart warming. I liked the stories message of self acceptance and shining as your unique self rather than forcing yourself to blend in, I thought it was well done.

Penny is a cute little pink piggy and the only one on the farm with four horses. She feels alone as she can’t join the horses in their daily activities or adventures. Penny tries different ways to become a horse but with no success.
The horses feel sad and tell her that they like her as a piggy. They include her in their activities, and Penny is happy spending time with her friends.
The watercolor illustrations are very good. Penny looks the cutest on all pages. The story comes with a moral for kids to accept their friends and to include them in their games.

Omg, this was adorable. When I first saw the title and the cover I had to give this one a look because horses and pigs are my two favorite farm animals. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. From the first page, the beautiful watercolor graphics had me entranced. They are done so well and really capture the fun energy of the book. The message was so wholesome and necessary for young readers. You don’t have to change yourself to be like everyone else in order to fit in. This is also a lesson we as adults could use from time to time. This was a great children’s book all around and I would love to see it in the library or my younger cousin's bookshelf.
