I received an ARC of "Sealed with a Yuletide Kiss," from Netgalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Sophie Barnes' ability to tell stories is fantastic as we readers are drawn in to the lives of her characters. This is a series of short stories,  all with HEAs. Each story is unique, with unique characters and unique circumstances. Awesome stories!

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Unfortunately, I DNFed this novel, as it didn't live up to my expectations.

This is a book of 24 very, very, very short stories to be read one a day till Christmas. Most stories took me about 20 minutes to read. They all seemed to have a similar theme of two people meeting again after being apart and finally deciding to declare their love for each other. The stories were way too short for me. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Independently Published for my honest review.

What a sweet holiday collection!

Like a decadent chocolate advent calendar, there's a delectable treat for each of the first twenty-four days of December. We have quite a collection of Regency tropes - mistaken identities, older brother's best friend, childhood friend, arranged marriage, misunderstandings, and even one that takes place among the service class. Each is a standalone romance with a HEA, and each is just about a chapter long - just enough to satisfy a quick craving.

Like the best candy treat, these stories leave the reader wishing for just a little bit more to savor. It's a marvel that the author can create such compelling characters in such short stories, but anyone familiar with the author's other works will recognize her gift in creating delightful tales. If you're looking for a book that will deliver a series of quick fixes for the romance addict, look no further. This book was written for you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was such an amazing concept for a book! The stories are short enough to be read right before bed or in the morning over coffee. Each story is different so you never feel like you are just reading the same story over and over and over again. I found that I actually wanted some of them to keep going or that the author would expand them into novellas or full novels. This is a great way to celebrate the season!

I loved this book! What a wonderful idea to have a once a day read upto Christmas. All the stories were great and exactly what I'd expect from Sophie Barnes. All stories were different yet good. I dont know that I could have read just one a day. That might be just too much.

I have this book a lower than usual rating because, although I like this author and Christmas stories, I just thought that these stories were way too short. They were well-written and could actually be made into longer stories that would be more satisfying to read; however, as lovely as they were there was no real substance to any of the stories, in my opinion.

If you like reading really short stories (some only a page or two long) then you will enjoy this book. I did not hate the stories they were just not satisfying for me.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Cute short stories for Christmas. Very easy read.

I have never read a book based on the advent calendar and this was really a treat. From Sophie’s notes these are very popular in Denmark and for people who want vignettes to read each day during advent this is definitely for you. Each take only a few minutes and make you feel good inside. They are sweet and romantic.

This is an adorable idea for a book and very well executed. The stories are short and sweet and while some land better than others, on the whole each is like a sweet Christmas candy. It showcases a lot of skill and versatility on the part of the author too. Very nicely done.

The premise of this book intrigued me from the beginning - an advent calendar comprised of short historical romances. It was very enjoyable, but my only complaint is that I would love to know more about each of stories. They were in turns funny, heart-warming, and just plain lovely to read. I enjoyed them all very much, and would recommend this to anyone who just wants a small taste of what Sophie Barnes' books have to offer.

I really enjoyed these holiday treats each story was heartwarming and romantic. I loved all the fun characters and the authors ability to bring happiness in a variety of ways. Personally, I usually stay away from anthologies because the stories are to brief for my personal likes. I found myself left wanting more at the conclusion of each story.

I received a preview copy from NetGalley and this is my freely given review.

OMG, this is a great little collection. It really is like an Advent Calendar - each little story is a wee little sweet treat. Each one is a sweet, heart twisting little hint of Seasonal love, passion, desire. BUT like each of those wee little chocolates or treat in a real Advent, it is just a wee morsel - not a true stomach filling meal, or soul satisfying love story.

So while I loved how much feeling, detail, background, and character was put into each little day's mental romance morsel... I was also left wanting more! What happened with the two doctors, and how were they able to live together, while hiding her secret? Did that one couple decide to live in Norway or England??? What other nisser pranks were played (I have knit so many of them as ornament gifts!)? Did the couple who married because of their parent's wager overcome their beginnings and begin their marriage anew? So many questions to the endings to so many intriguing beginnings!

This is why we can't live on a wee chocolate a day - and why the full turkey dinner with all the fixings is needed at some point!

Regardless, I found I loved each of the two dozen romance bonbons that were offered in this collection. It did make a great Romance advent calendar... and maybe it says more about my self control than anything else, like an open box of bonbons, it was hard to stick to just one!

Four merrily burning yulelogs out of 5 for me.

Listen… I’m not typically a huge fan of historical fiction or short stories, but this was so cute!!

I’ve never read an advent book before. Essentially, this is a collection of 25 short stories—one for each day of December leading up to Christmas. It’s pretty much the cutest idea ever, right?!

Each of these romance stories managed to pack a punch in only a few pages. Sometimes books seem like they’re dragging on just to meet a word count, but each line of the stories here were purposeful. It was the perfect dose of romance and holiday spirit in each story!

I do wish that the stories would have been just a little longer so that each character could have been more fleshed out. They all kind of melded together in my mind, because many of the stories do fall into the same kinds of tropes/set ups. But I also love each and every Hallmark Christmas movie, so clearly I don’t mind that too terribly much! 😂

What a wonderful concept! A advent book, one sweet short story a day starting on the 1st through till Christmas Eve. Each is slightly different, but a love story one and all. To review book before the release I read it all in a couple of days. This did take away from the idea of the Advent book. My suggestion is to read one a day….first thing in the morning or last thing before you fall asleep and enjoy!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #SealedwithaYuletideKiss #SophieBarnes

Twenty-four romantic short stories are to be found in this Christmas-themed collection, designed to be read from the 1st to the 24th of December.

This is undoubtedly the best advent calendar I've ever had the pleasure to open. Okay, so it's an ARC which means I had to read and review it beforehand, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to restrict myself to one story a day - they are heart-warming, sweet, and so easy to consume. The advent calendar idea is pretty awesome. It also works really well. And I'm not just saying this as a Sophie Barnes fan! Any reader who dabbles in historical romance will enjoy this.

This book contained a different romance for everyday of December up until December 24th. It gave the reader many different characters to fall in love with. I can’t wait for Sophie Barnes next book.

Sealed with a Yuletide Kiss is an advent-type like calendar of very short historical romance stories with a holiday theme. Of course, I did not read one a day but glommed a series of stories in a row. As a result, most of the stories started to blend together, with a lot of repetitiveness. Many of the heroines were very young, which is no longer hugely interesting to me. I prefer--even in a short story--more depth and interest to my characters, something Mary Balogh used to very good at. However, I think a young or new romance reader might enjoy this very much.

Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
