I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I went into this book blind! I thought it was going to be a sweet romance book and a wedding. but, here comes a murder and then zombies were mentioned! I was totally taken aback and had to laugh at myself. I still really enjoyed this book and definitely would recommend this book!

This novel is the fourth in the Hegemonic Hollow series but can just about be read as a stand alone one.
Josh and Phoebe are getting married and this novel is the run up to the big day.

However they have a long standing vendetta with the 'Grimes family', having three of the family sent  to prison in the previous novels.
Which I should add I wish I should add is where I struggled to characterise them and their stories.
The vendetta continues however our protagonist finds two lost souls along the way and it has a happier outcome.

The main point I enjoyed was the different POV they explained the story more and were quite refreshing. Also I liked the 'just giving'  idea that was great.

Overall this is a very cheesy upbeat romance novel but I found it very drawn out but am left wondering if the others in this series are the same or, on the other hand, much better with whole stories told and better characterization.

Many thanks  to NetGalley and the publishe as I recieved a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

AHHHHHH !!
I have been looking forward to this book for *what feels like* AGES!

I have said it before and I'll say it again, Jessica writes some incredible books!
It was so lovely to be back at Hedgehog Hollow with the gang and to learn all about what happened (as the third book was left on a cliffhanger)!

This book bought laughter, tears, empathy and love.
It speaks to every single one of my emotions and that is the main reason I connect with Jessica's books so much. There is always so much depth to them and I love supporting her and her writing!

Thank you so much to Boldwood, @rachelsrandomresources and @jessicaredlandauthor for letting me join in on this blog tour and slotting me in at the last minute.
Thank you Jessica for another brilliant book, I will buy your books forever!

Thanks you to NetGalley & BoldWorld Books for this book for an honest review.
This is a drama packed book and I really enjoyed it. I haven't read any of the others in this series but that's fine as is good as a stand alone too.
Great story line and great characters. I will be looking for the previous books and will read them in order now.

Apparently this is a book from a series. Some reviewers say it can be read as a standalone book but I honestly struggled getting to appreciate the characters. It might just be me - but it was hard to get into and really enjoy.

I was so glad to discover this series. I've eagerly awaited each book and this one did not disappoint.
The hedgehog rescue suffers and you really feel for them. Secrets are unearthed and take you along with the story.
The Wedding takes place and that is always a lovely theme for a book - when you feel like you know the characters it's as though you've received an invitation yourself. I am now keen to read the next book

I will be honest, it was the inclusion of hedgehogs that made me request this book as I adore the spiky little critters.

Now, I am clearly in the minority as this book has over 4.5 stars. Maybe I am being too critical, but I do like a heathy dose of realism in my fiction. The book is very, very predictable and, whilst this in itself isn’t enough for me to reduce my rating, this felt like it was trying to hard and just missed the point. When I say it’s trying to hard, I’ll start with the ‘gritty’ backstory of Phoebe. It is like the author tried to cram every single childhood trauma into this girl’s life and I felt that it was unnecessary for a book that isn’t a dark and gritty crime drama. Now, the hedgehog sanctuary. I cannot believe that such a small sanctuary (next to no staff/volunteers) would have close to 200 hedgehogs. I am in close contact with my local rescues and they could not cope with such a number. Even looking at the RSPCA website with their numbers for hedgehogs, they (as a national organisation) have those sorts of numbers. Finally, and I apologise but this is really nitpicking, Miranda rights are American. The UK has the police caution which is the right to silence.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series and I probably won’t because this book just wasn’t for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Having read and heard a lot of good things about Jessica Redland's books, I was excited to try reading one for myself and was not disappointed.

This is the first book I have read in this series but this works well as a standalone and it wasn't a problem not having read the others. The characters are well developed and likeable and, though the front cover suggests this is an easy chick-lit read, it looks at some sensitive issues but with a light touch which I absolutely loved.

Highly recommended.

I really enjoy Jessica's books, they're very sweet and cosy romances. This is part of a series, but also reads really well as a standalone so there's no need to panic over missing anything out.

Hedgehog Hollow is a wonderful place to escape to, and I only wish it were real.

5 Word Review: Family, abuse, secrets, betrayal, love.

I picked up A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow for the Happy Book prompt in Spring's Series Crackdown Readathon and... I wasn't expecting my soul to end up so utterly devastated by this book. It had me in tears so many times until well over half way through, and I'm so glad I knew from the previous books to have some hope.

Poor Phoebe. This book focuses massively on her. Before, she was a rather quiet side character who was easy to dismiss. After this book? Oh my goodness, that girl deserves the world. She deserves all of the kindness and good will and good luck and basically everything positive ever. What she has been through wrenched my heart apart, and she was so strong to pull herself out the other wise, especially with her dear little cousin in tow.

Honestly I felt like this book was all Phoebe's story. And I was fine with that. As much as I sobbed into my kindle and went through an entire box of tissues, it felt good to step away from how perfect Samantha's life can feel sometimes. I mean, Samantha has a lot of struggles herself but somehow it always felt a little rose tinted and she herself a little condescending. Phoebe's struggles are raw and painful and cut deep.

This book left me an emotional wreck. I loved the exploration of family, found family, friendship, sexuality. The themes of trust and love and acceptance filled my heart back up with joy after the battering it went through in the first half. I loved the light relief of the naming of the hedgehogs, especially when the names became quite silly.

I so badly wish that Hedgehog Hollow was real, I want to rent one of the holiday cottages and stare out at the meadow and up at the sky. I can't wait to see where the story goes next.

The whole series is on Kindle Unlimited, so if you have it absolutely check it out. And if you don't, it's still worth the money.

This is not an easy chick-lit story like the cover might lead to believe. It tackles some tough issues such as drugs, physical abuse, prostitution, depression, attempted suicide, grief, and more. I recommend you have tissues nearby when you pick this one up.

Drama packed as I would expect from Hedgehog Hollow. The author has the ability to be able to convey the most palpable emotional states. I’ve been in tears, wanted to pick up a character and shake them, laughed joyously all whilst reading this book. I found it hard to put down and read most of it in one go! Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Thank you Netgalley

Another fabulous read from this author, as always there is a good storyline and likeable characters, the themed of community spirit and helping others are always uplifting, the characters are sometimes a little too good to be true but just what you need in these difficult times

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone as there is a recap at the start. It was very cute with lovely characters and a really strong story. I liked the authors writing style.

This is the fourth instalment of the Hedgehog Hollow series, however it can be read as a stand alone and is just as enjoyable.

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow was the perfect reconnection with characters from the previous three stories who practically feel like real life friends at this point

The story was believable and made me both laugh and cry. I love Jessica Redland’s style. She gives us a lovely romance but it has a proper story wrapped around it. Excellent!!!
