WOW! What a book! I have been having a slump in my reading and what a fantastic book to get me back into out.
I’ve enjoyed all the Hedgehog Hollow books but this one has been a firm favourite from the first page.
This one follows the lead up to Samantha and Josh’s wedding. Along with Phoebe and Darcie and a few other favourite characters Samantha once again shows us the real meaning of true friendship and family loyalty.
I can’t wait until book number 5 comes out. Once again Jessica doesn’t disappoint . Her books just keep getting better and better.
Thanks to Boldwood Books, NetGalley and most of all Jessica Redland for another amazing book.

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow
by: Jessica Redland
Boldwood Books

Readers are once again welcomed to Hedgehog Hollow in the Yorkshire Wolds, for a story as beautiful and vivid as the wildflower meadow adjoining the property. In this fourth book in the Hedgehog Hollow Series, Redland's plot is much more extensive than the love story and wedding plans of Sam and Josh. Many characters and relationships are involved in this multi-layered tale, taking turns from heart-warming to heart-wrenching with its diverse and serious themes.
Sam is owner and caretaker of Hedgehog Hollow, a rescue centre for hedgehogs which also has two holiday cottages. Owner of Alderson & Son Veterinary Practice, Josh is a veterinary surgeon and the perfect match for Sam. All is not perfect, however, and a financial disaster at the centre disrupts its routine, putting volunteer bookkeeper Phoebe in the spotlight. I found myself engrossed in her shocking backstory
It is never easy to read about child abuse, but Redland covers it with thoughtfulness while portraying it boldly for the evil that it is. It is one of several tough topics woven into the narrative. In this earnest tale of second chances, trust, and priorities, I was in awe of Redland's ability to balance dreadful situations with recovery and rescue. I embraced it and won't forget it.
Redland includes a list of recurring characters from the previous book in the series, Family Secrets at Hedgehog Hollow. This book can be read as a stand-alone book, as I did, but could be highly appreciated as a full series.
Thank you to Net Galley and Boldwood Books for the advance reader's copy and the opportunity to provide my unbiased review.

It is lovely to be back at Hedgehog Hollow once again, this time for the wedding of Samantha and Josh. Unfortunately I hadn't read the book before but the author gives a quick recap so it was easy to pick up the story so far.

I was absolutely hooked from the beginning. I love how the story is told usually by Samantha and one other, in this case Pheobe. Unfortunately Phoebe's story is very disturbing and difficult to read at times, however, Jessica manages this extremely well. I think I experienced every emotion there is during the course of the book. As well as Phoebe's story we have Samantha's which includes trying to save the Rescue Centre, planning a wedding and trying to heal family relationships.

Thank you Jessica Redland for another fantastic book with so much packed in it, which I highly recommend.

Thank you Rachel's Random Resources, Netgalley and Boldwood Books for my gifted ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.

Sam is looking forward not only to Christmas but also to her Spring wedding at Hedgehog Hollow, the rescue centre she runs. The wedding plans are all in hand and the centre is doing well with plenty of volunteers to help with the influx of autumn juvenile hoglets. Then when Sam checks the rescue centre accounts after Christmas she has a shock when she discovers all the money has gone, who could have taken it and how?
Sam quickly works out who is responsible and also discovers that it links back to the Grimes family who she thought she had seen the last of.
Phoebe loves volunteering at Hedgehog Hollow, it gives her a much needed respite from her vicious, abusive stepmother but the theft of the money could ruin everything for her.
Both Sam and Phoebe will need all the love and security that their friends and Hedgehog Hollow can provide.
Really well written, happy, sad and hedgehogs. What more could you want?

I absolutely loved this book. I love returning to hedgehog hollow and following the journey of Samantha and josh and all the little hedgehogs. And also in this book we meet phoebe and darcie and when you realise what they have been through it will bring you to tears. I love watching this family grow and can not wait to get back to hedgehog hollow for the next adventure.

A lovely return to Hedgehog Hollow, I’ve been eagerly awaiting this next book in the hedgehog loving series and let me say – the wait was worth it!
I flew through this book; I just didn’t want to put it down as I was so keen to know what was happening. Jessica Redland has been so clever in encompassing many issues within this storyline, tackling some very serious and sensitive problems that will have readers riding an emotional rollercoaster. I was ranging from outraged to concerned, from upset but then full of hope, with lots of happiness and a heart full of love.
Whilst we primarily are catching up with Sam and her wonderful family/friends and hogs, we are also given a chance to discover Phoebe’s story. She is the accountant Sam has sources vis the local college and she has more then one secret she is trying to hide.
The more I read of Phoebes life, the angrier I became. Working in the profession I do; this is something I hear of regularly and it never changes how it makes you feel; Jessica Redland has done such a clever job incorporating this storyline into the book.
Sam’s character is slowly moving forwards after events in the past but that doesn’t mean she’s completely over them; when reminders threaten to set back the progress, she’s made she must be careful with choices she makes regarding the people she keeps close by.
An excellent and very enjoyable read, even if a little hard going to at time. I will (impatiently) wait for the next book in the series and see what happens next at Hedgehog Hollow.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Cover: I like the color palette. Not sure about the flowers.

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow has been my first dive into the Hedgehog Hollow series—what a journey! I was hesitant at first, given my lack of knowledge about the previous installments, but Redland eased me in with a quick recap and then proceeded to spin an interesting tale based on love, second chances, and hedgehogs.

First of all, kudos for the captivating writing style. It complements the tale Redland chooses to tell, leaving the reader satisfied after swiping left for the last time.

The double POV structure strengthens the plot: we get to hear Samantha and Phoebe’s side of the story, and while it takes away some suspense (is Phoebe guilty?), I believe it works in this specific context. Both MCs are well-crafted, with a balanced amount of flaws and virtues. They’re supported by a large cast of characters—a bit too large for me—with some of the secondary characters entering the spotlight for a brief moment.

Perhaps the one who really shines through is Rosemary. I appreciate her development a lot, as she starts out as your standard friendly character, then she goes through a growth arc that enhances her weaknesses too. Is that good? Yes, because she’s given the chance to overcome them despite not being one of the MCs.

The last part of my reviews usually addresses flaws. There’s not much to tell here, except maybe for the Grimes. Villains are a fundamental part of a story—good folks are great in RL and boring on printed paper—but they should be nuanced. Tina and Jenny (the whole family, I’d say, but I haven’t read the previous installments, so take this with a grain of salt) are nasty, and they have no redeemable qualities. I could buy that if it involved a single character, I guess; two or more is pushing it.

4 stars on GR.

This is the fourth book of the series. Having not read the other books it took me awhile to get everyone straight. After I did I found it a very enjoyable read.

Thanks #NetGalley @BoldwoodBooks for a complimentary eARC of #AWeddingAtHedgehogHollow upon my request. All opinions are my own.

A long-awaited wedding…….

As Samantha prepares to marry Josh, she discovers that someone has hacked into her bank account and emptied it. Is the future of Hedgehog Hollow in jeopardy? Will she be able to afford the wedding?

In this installment, we become acquainted with Phoebe who is desperate to escape her abusive family, infamously known for their attacks on Samantha’s beloved rescue centre. Does the recent bank fraud have anything to do with her family?

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow is the 4th in the Hedgehog Hollow series. Although it can be read as a stand alone, a series is always best when read in order (in my opinion).

One reason I enjoy this series is for the friendly tone of the writing. The books are easy reading and the stories are engaging from the first page. Although some of the themes are heavy, they are balanced with lighter and happier ones. I appreciate the closed door romance and no offensive language in the stories. I think this series is difficult to pin down to a specific genre. It’s certainly women’s fiction because the storylines and themes are mostly focused on the concerns of women and female characters. Some readers might categorize this as “uplit” because the stories end up on a hopeful note and compassion, connection, caring for others, and kindness are always strong themes. In each of the stories though, there is always one heavy hitting theme. In this recent installment, there is a particularly difficult theme of child abuse and child endangerment.

At the center of each story is wise and insightful Samantha (Sam) who is a hedgehog rescuer, a loyal and understanding friend, a helper, a determined problem solver, and an all-around kind, generous, and compassionate person. I love her and her character keeps me invested in the series.

***contains spoilers***
In all the stories, there are general themes of family loyalty, friendship, second chances, compassion, and kindness. In each story there is at least one hard hitting theme. In A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow, there is child abuse and child endangerment. They can be uncomfortable passages to read but they are not overly graphic. Most of these scenes are told as backstory and could be easily skipped or scanned. You can always trust Jessica Redland to resolve all the issues in an HEA (happily ever after or happy for now) ending (in this case “found family”).

I’m recommending A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow for readers who enjoy women’s fiction with substantial themes, for fans of animal rescue, and for those who appreciate an inspirational and likable main character.

I’ve become a huge fan of the Hedgehog Hollow series and was eagerly awaiting book 4. This book has all the characters from the previous books with a handy little catch up/who’s-who at the start. We find out more about Phoebe the work experience girl. The awful Grimes family are back and we catch up with how Samantha’s relationships with her mum and cousin Chloe are developing.
Now I’m patiently waiting for books 5&6 🦔

Love, love, love, love, love. Oh how I love this series. Every time I read it I want to give up my life, move to the country and start an animal sanctuary.
This story is told alternately between Samantha - our hedgehog rescuer - and Phoebe, a member of the Grimes family who've been making Samantha's life a misery.
This book tackles some really heavy subjects; child neglect, abuse, drug use/dealing, theft. And yet, I would still class it as feel good fiction. This is every credit to Jessica Redlands writing talents. She has created a cast of characters that I love, and a few others that I love to hate.
I love how we have seen the characters develop over the course of this series and while this can be read as a standalone (the first couple of chapters recaps on what has happened previously) I would recommend going back to the start and reading the first 3 books in the series before settling into this one.
I was so sad to hear that there's only going to be another 2 books in this series, I understand why this has got to happen, but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it!

It’s very rare for a series of books to keep its sparkle past the first one for me, but Jessica has managed to achieve that. I feel very emotionally invested in these characters and their lives, particularly Samantha as I can relate to her so much. This next instalment of the Hedgehog series certainly didn’t disappoint, I devoured it in one day. Highly recommend this whole series!

This story is part 4 of the Hedgehog Hollow series but can be read as a stand alone.. although... why would you NOT want to read the rest of the series?? They are amazing!

This starts off with Samantha and Josh planning their wedding, after Sam has been through some tough times (see previous books)! She has some struggles to deal with.
2 people come into her life connected to her past, this is a story of hurt, sadness, hope and happiness.
It has everything you need from a good book and so much more.
If you like chick lit or women's fiction but love a bit more substance to it then this is a book for you!
It had me feeling every emotion from anger, frustration, sadness and hopelessness to happiness, contentment, relief and love!
No one can say this isn't a rollercoaster of a read! It definitely is and it's definitely one worth reading. Thank you Jessica for doing it again. Perfection on paper
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers and the author Jessica Redland for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion

Another lovely book in this series. This time there are more problems for Samantha when she is supposed to be planning for the best day of her life marrying Josh. Phoebe is the bookkeeper at Hedgehog Hollow and is keeping a big secret can Samantha sort out all of the problems in time for her big day. Wonderful warm characters with a great storyline and a sensitivity dealing with difficult issues make this a compelling read

This is the fourth book in the Hedgehog Hollow series but, can be read as a stand alone as the author gives a brief story so far at the beginning of the book and a list of the main characters. Although the tittle implies that this book is about a wedding it isn't. I mean there is a wedding in it but the story mainly focuses on Sam (the main character in all the books) coming to terms with the events of the past 12 months and Phoebe a student from the local TEC who helps out with the book-keeping at the rescue centre. Phoebe has a secret she has kept from Sam. When a crime is committed involving the rescue centre this secret is exposed along with a whole heap of trouble, heartache, pain , upset etc. As the story unravels a truly horrid picture of life for Phoebe is exposed. As in all the other books Sam comes to the rescue to try and solve everything but, as she is now having counselling for PTSD - caused by the Grimes family will it all prove to be just too much?

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow is the forth in the series by Jessica Redland. This is brilliant writing the third book left us with a cliffhanger and this one picked up beautifully as it’s own story if it need be as it recapped. Samantha notices that her business account is empty and her accountant is part of the Grimes family and she was unaware. Samantha is the kindest person and such a wonderful character, I absolutely love what she does with the hedgehogs.
Phoebe is so strong and resilient the things she’s been through with the Grimes family is heartbreaking. Little Darcie will melt your heart you can see why the bond with her and Phoebe is so strong. The story ends with yet more curiosity on Phoebe’s relationship. I’m really hoping for more books in The Hedgehog Hollow series as they are a delight to read.

"A Wedding At Hedgehog Hollow": 4⭐

A pretty cute story, and heartbreaking with the mention of children. I won't give any spoilers but if you get triggered by mentions of badly treating children, then this might concern you.
Overall, it has a really heartwarming feeling to it! Would recommend!

This book is the latest in The Hedgehog Hollow series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but I would definitely recommend reading the other books first.
This is such a lovely series, very enjoyable but also very emotional. There are some hard hitting subjects in this book, but also a lot of heartwarming moments. I really enjoyed reading this book.
This book features Phoebe, as well as the planned wedding of Samantha and Josh. We also catch up with a lot of the characters from the previous books.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.

I’m loving this series at Hedgehog Hollow- from the brilliant characters to the emotional storylines, Jessica Redland is definitely one of my go to authors.
Jessica doesn’t shy away from difficult topics and this story, although with its light and happy moments, has an underlying story that is hard-hitting and powerful which is handled sensitively. Sam and Josh are certainly the people to be around when love and attention is required and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
