This story follows Samantha, who owns a hedgehog rescue centre, and Phoebe who is doing work experience there while studying to become an accountant. We also meet Samantha’s fiancé (the wedding in the title is Samantha and Josh) and various family members and friends. It is a lovely community and we soon come to know them all and care about them.
This is the fourth book in the Hedgehog Hollow series and I wish I had read the first three before, so I knew everyone better and had followed their stories in chronological order, though I managed well enough reading this as a standalone.
I absolutely LOVED the characters, they are all so vivid and realistic. I ended up becoming so annoyed with two of the characters, that I was getting rather cross at their actions and had to take a break! That’s how realistic they are. (Tina and Jenny, look out for them!)
The hedgehogs are also adorable additions to the story and I felt I learnt a lot about them while reading it. There’s also some information about them at the end of the book, which is worth your time too.
It’s an easy novel to get into and I read it over two or three days, because I felt invested in the story and wanted (needed!) to know what was going to happen. I would definitely read more of her books.
8.5 out of 10

I regret that I haven't read the previous books in this series as there is so much to catch up on. I do think that it can be read as a standalone as you do get a glimpse into what happened but there's so much to this story it would've been beneficial to read them. I love Jessica Redland's style of writing. When you see you see title of of one of her books, you think they're going to be these sweet and gentle books...and they are to an extent, you just have to get through a fair amount of drama before. Every one of Jessica's books has made me cry and this was no different, I actually think that this is the most distressing one I've read. Phoebe and Darcie's home life broke my heart and I found it quite difficult to read at times. I love Samantha. Such a caring, sweet person. I will get around to reading the previous books and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I was so excited to read the fourth instalment in the wonderful Hedgehog Hollow series and this book did not disappoint. A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow was both heartbreaking and heartwarming in equal measure.
Jessica sensitively and deftly handles some harrowing real-life issues with what is obviously much research, but fortunately also manages to balance these difficult topics with the positive power of love, family and community.
It is a beautiful read and I look forward to many more in the series.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I’ve loved reading all the books in this series and was looking forward to reading this one.

The book continues the story of Samantha who runs a hedgehog sanctuary, we also read about her wedding preparations.

But, apart from this, we get to know about Phoebe, the volunteer accountant looking after the accounts for Samantha and the way she lives with her family

Some hard topics, were covered in this book that Jessica handled sensitively, that were hard to read and brought tears to my eyes on occasions.

The characters were relatable and some small titbits of stories were threaded into the last part of the book that could be continued.

If I could give it more than 5⭐️ I would.

Highly Recommend This Series.

The Hedgehog Hollow series is a wonderful one, and so there was no question of whether I’d read A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow or not.

This book follows the ongoing story of all our favourite characters from Hedgehog Hollow, and also focusses on the life of one of the volunteers, Phoebe. Her life was really hard for me to read about, but the relief when she finally escaped her situation was immense.

In spite of the difficult topic, I really enjoyed reading this book. Jessica Redland has a way of making you really care about the characters, right from the start. It was so lovely to return to the hedgehogs, and the characters I love. It’s great to see the characters who were unpleasant in previous books working on themselves. The progress taking time is so much more realistic and rewarding than in some books, and as a result, much more compelling.

As always, the writing was excellent, and it was easy to get absorbed in the story. I loved the hedgehog information at the back of the book too.

Overall, this was an emotional and heartwarming read. Keep the tissues handy,

TW: child abuse and neglect.

The next book in the Hedgehog Hollow series. To understand fully you need to have read the previous books in the series .
Jessica always writes beautifully written books which are well researched. She covers hard subjects sensitively .
This is a highly emotional read but it draws the reader in and real life is put on hold .
This series has taken individual characters and told their stories alongside the continuing story of Sammie and the rest of the primary characters.
I would highly recommend this book , this series has got better book by book !
Cannot wait for the next one !
Thank you to Netgalley, Jessica Redland, and Boldwood Books for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

This is my first venture into Hedgehog Hollow and the rescue centre and once I had got over the fact that I needed to concentrate on who was what this did not matter.
Melding serious and light themes this is about lovely people getting their rewards and helping each other.
Great.

Thank you Thank you Thank you ... what better way to start the year then a brand new hedgehog hollow and after the 3rd left us on an epic cliff hanger this was a must must read immediately. This follows almost where book 3 left us so I would recommend reading the others first. It was lovely to hear phoebes side of the story but also heartbreaking to hear how she was treated, but thankfully she has Sam and hedgehog hollow can't wait for other books in the series.

I am so excited that I finally got to witness the wedding of Josh and Sam. Despite the title, the wedding really only plays a small part in this book, though of course it is a huge focal point and important moment for Sam and Josh. There are enough other juicy storylines to keep you interested but also to read this as a standalone story if you’ve never picked up this series before.

I love how Jessica Redland manages to balance this: bringing readers of the previous stories straight back into the action with their favourite characters, whilst providing enough opportunity for new readers to get involved, without spending pages or chapters going over old news! Whether you are a newcomer to the series or not, you are immediately drawn to the warmth of the main characters and intrigued by the beautiful projects and plans they have happening at Hedgehog Hollow.

I love how we are moving between characters and the fact that this story focuses very much on Phoebe. I was definitely intrigued by her story and felt sympathy for her. I was rooting for her to move outside her circumstances and achieve her goals, but with a family background as complex and nasty as hers, it’s definitely questionable whether she can.

There is a huge sense of mystery and injustice within this book that drives the plot forward and makes you want to carry on reading. There is romance but also drama, with Jessica even managing to sensitively handle and discuss issues such as fraud and abuse whilst still managing to maintain the feeling of comfort you ultimately get from these books.

At the end of the book, I still feel like there was more we could hear from Phoebe, as well as more exciting plans for Sam and Josh, so I was relieved to hear that there will definitely be a book five. I’m simply so excited to be back in this gorgeous setting and seeing what else is in store for this vibrant and likeable cast of characters. I really don’t know what I will do if this series ends as it’s such a source of joy for me!

Once again, a stunning, well-written and gripping storyline full of romance and drama, proving to all of us that home is where the heart is! It’s really difficult to put into words how beautiful and touching these books really are, so you will just have to take my word, trust my billion star rating, and see for yourself!

Another stunning book in the Hedgehog Hollow series. A tough storyline, with a new character and of course, hedgehogs. Loved it!

When I requested this book I really did not know it was going to talk such hard subjects and be so emotionally draining! Tank you for tackling some tough subjects. I was enthralled and did not want to put the book down and now want to go back and read the previous books. The characters were believable and the relationships between the different pairings were varied but realistic. Also reminded me to donate to the local hedgehog sanctuary, which I have not done for a while.

What a wonderful addition to the Hedgehog Hollow series! This book is full of emotions and deals with some tough subjects that the author handled beautiful. Once you start reading this story you won't be able to put it down. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

When I chose to read this book I hadn't realised that it was part of a series, and I hadn't read previous books. I therefore found the beginning somewhat confusing as whilst there was some recapping, there really wasn't enough for someone who hadn't read the previous book(s).

The middle part of the story line, which didn't rely as much on previous knowledge I did enjoy, and I loved the relationships between Phoebe and Darcie and Samantha and her parents (not always plain sailing!) And her and Josh.

Phoebe is the step daughter of Samantha's arch enemies, which obviously Samantha didn't realise or she wouldn't have given her the job. It transpires that Phoebe has been abused by them for years, and is forced to be the main carer for Darcie who is the Granddaughter of Phoebe's Stepmother's sister. The abuse that Phoebe experiences has been dealt with sensitivity, and is well researched. Also we'll researched is the backdrop to the story which is the Hedgehog rescue centre, which Samantha manages, with the help of Josh her fiance, her Dad, and various volunteers. I found out about all sorts of Hedgehog conditions which I didn't know existed.

All in all a lovely book - if you read the series in order.

The story picks up from just before the final lines of book 3, and we are immediately immersed in the fall-out from the bank fraud. Samantha is left feeling desperate as the impact isn’t just on the future of the rescue, but also Samantha and Josh’s wedding plans. With more new arrivals for the rescue landing daily, a minor miracle is needed if Samantha’s good works can be continued.
The focus for this edition is split between Samantha and her problems, and learning more about trainee accountant, Phoebe Corbyn-Grimes. As we learn more about her background, it’s impossible not to be on Phoebe’s side. This is certainly not just a light-hearted story as there are some gritty topics covered, including child endangerment, neglect, and extreme violence.
True to form, I found that Jessica Redland showed a good understanding of the topics covered and I continue to be amazed by the various ailments afflicting the lovely hedgehogs. The characters are all very well developed, and I particularly enjoyed the inclusive romance which saw a special conclusion for a well-loved member of the team.
As the title suggests, the story never veers too far from the upcoming nuptials of Samantha and Josh. There’s lot to overcome if a happy ending is to be found, but I think we all know that Jessica Redland will never fails to deliver a satisfying conclusion. Not necessarily as the reader may have imagined, but that’s half the fun.

A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow
By Jessica Redland Pub Date 6th Jan 2022
Life at Hedgehog Hollow is never dull, although Samantha hopes that the new year ahead will be a little less chaotic as she prepares to marry the love of her life, Josh. But disaster strikes when she checks the rescue centre's bank account after the festive season and discovers it has been emptied. Who would do such a thing, and why? With the future of Hedgehog Hollow now in jeopardy, planning a wedding has lost its shine.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of books so far ( I am hoping for a 5th); I love the characters, the wonderful community of Hedgehog Hollow, learning about the hedgehogs and each book's touching storyline.
As with many of Jessica's books, there is hope, anguish, laughter, sadness, love and spirit, with plots that flow and keep your interest right to the last page.
I happily recommend this series, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have.
I want to thank NetGalley, Boldwood Books and author Jessica Redland for a pre-publication copy to review.

I love Jess Redland books. This has been the perfect escape from reality and has been the read I’ve needed. I’ve read so many of this author’s previous books- Hedgehog Hollow is a place I just love to revisit time and time again.

I have been completely addicted to this one. I have found myself unable and unwilling to put this down. I have given a death stare if anyone has dared to even try to interrupt me. I already cannot wait for more from Redland.

This is beautifully written within some extremely emotional and tough scenes. Redland has portrayed the treatment of children with sensitivity but I have still found this an extremely emotional element of this book.

This is a book that on the whole is lighthearted and uplifting but has left me feeling a bit of a hot mess. With that said, I am still eagerly anticipating more.

My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC of this book available to me.

While I did enjoy the writing overall, I do think the book should come with warnings about certain potential emotional triggers (child abuse, family abuse, threatened violence). The overall theme of the book was toward treating others nicely and getting a positive response in both theirs and your own life, but the descriptions of how the young woman was treated by her step family were extremely intense and harsh, even if well written.

I'm hoping that the next book (or two?) in this series will be happier reads.

Book 4 in the hedgehog hollow series and it didn’t disappoint,

Samatha and Josh’s wedding is in the planning stage and they plan to hold it at hedgehog hollow. More hedgehogs are arriving at the rescue centre daily and it’s not all plain sailing. Great to catch up with Sam, Josh, their families and many other characters from the other 3 books in the series.

Jessica Redland never fails to disappoint with her books, I'm always hooked and struggle to put these down (maybe I shouldn't mention that this kept me reading till 2am and then sleeping straight through my alarm the next morning?) I was extra intrigued by this book because we finish book 3 on a massive cliffhanger. I'll not spoil it but I would recommend reading the other books before this one as I sets the scene and explains things more if you are aware of the back story.

The first couple of chapters actually go slightly back in time from the cliffhanger which did catch me off guard at first but you don’t have to read much to catch back up and I think Samantha’s finding is just as shocking the second time around. I really couldn’t see Phoebe being behind the event but I could see that she had been coerced into it by her family and I really thought that this was the way the book was going to go.

Turns out I was rather wrong and I was shocked when we found out the truth, it’s safe to say there’s a lot more to Phoebe than meets the eye! The love and care she shows for Darcie is so strong and you can tell how much she loves that girl and that she’d protect her if it was the last thing she did.

I also loved watched Phoebe and Fizz’s friendship grow, they’re both such lovely characters and you know they’ll support Sam and the hedgehogs for a while yet - or at least I hope anyway!

Now I’ve just got a few more months to wait for the next instalment in Hedgehog Hollow - if I’m right in assuming there is one?

⛅Strong storyline and characterizations, especially for young Phoebe😍

Another great continuation to an inspirational series about love, kindness, family and defeating the negative. The main character, hedgehog rescuer Samantha, spreads her kindness with a forgiving nature that, happily, gets some positive results in her rocky relationships with her mom and her cousin while she deals with a major financial setback for the Rescue Center and prepares to marry her dear veterinarian Josh.

But, for me, the real heart of this particular Hedgehog Hollow story was shattered, battered teenager Phoebe. I loved this storyline and her devotion to young Darcy. The arc of her story ends on a good note but with a bittersweet edge. Hopefully it will be taken up again in a sequel.

Author Jessica Redland has given us lovely, generous and kind characters balanced by that horrible Grimes family of villains who keep popping up to exploit and terrorize Samantha and anyone who looks at them the wrong way. The Grimes' add drama while Sam, Josh and their family and friends are creating a better world!

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
