This book was humor perfect for elementary. As an adult I had a few too many eye rolls, but I know my nephews would love it. Felix finds his way into a new dimension and meets Calcite, this ball of fluff who is a bit reminiscent of Danny DeVito. He is super scared of trolls. Through this comic adventure to two team up to get Calcite home and learn that trolls may not be as bad as they seem.

This is a fun, colorful, cute, and well-illustrated graphic novel. It's an enjoyable story about Felix, a boy, and Calcite, a troll, and an adventure they go on in the land of the trolls with that's to do with gnomes. One night Felix wakes up and finds Calcite, a troll in his room, and finds that his toy chest is a portal to the Land of the Trolls where they go exploring and get attacked by gnomes. It's a fun graphic novel that's great for children.

The Land of the Trolls by Artur Laperla is a children's graphic novel that will appeal to fans of Cartoon Network and Disney Channel. The story revolves around Felix, who has discovered the land of trolls. He meets a troll named Calcite, and they embark on an adventure involving gnomes.

Overall, The Land of the Trolls is an interesting graphic novel that will appeal to children. Unfortunately, it just didn't appeal to me as an adult reader. The art was bright and colorful, but the art style felt very simple and childish to me. If you're intrigued by the description, or if you're looking for a gift for a child, you can check out this book when it comes out in March!

While not my personal cup of tea, this will absolutely appeal to young kids who love a fun adventure with a some silliness along with it. Felix and Calcite are unlikely friends, but they work together well and the story is fun and young kids can get behind and learn a little as well as they read. The illustrations are well-done and vibrant and will also draw the kids in and the story really will be fun for them. I would absolutely recommend this to families with young children as they should love it and the adventures of a boy and his new friend, who just happens to be a troll.

Thank you to the Lerner Publishing Group and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This cute book is the first in the series about a boy who found the land of the trolls and went exploring there with a troll friend to show him around. Great addition to any elementary school’s graphic novel collection.

One way I judge books is how well I remember them after a bit of time passes. "The Land of the Trolls" fits in the category of books that I've read and thought were fine, but when I sit down to review them later, I can't remember the story without looking back at it. Younger Middle Grade graphic novel readers will most likely enjoy this, even if it's not one of my favorites.

Who knew trolls ate rocks? And smelled horrible? This graphic novel has a fun premise (Felix discovers a tunnel to the land of the trolls) and a fun presentation, complete with an explanation of trolls and maze activity pages. I will admit that I found the storyline anti-climatic, but the first half of the book has plenty to offer.
