I thought that this was a really nice and quick read that had a lot of content too.

The book was easy to read and gave plenty of opportunities to discuss the different subjects raised and still keep it child friendly.

The books explains some of the obstacles that people that have gone to another country face, the language barriers and culture shocks too where they have to "fit in".

The book gives plenty of food for thought and I think this would be a perfect book to have in a classroom.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

Geared toward children from 3-5 years, Raynelda a Calderon’s We the Dreamers shares the message: “We all arrived at the same place, though no two journeys are the same.” While some folks used common methods of transport, others came by whatever means they could find.

Likewise, children might have been accompanied by family members, or even set off alone.

The lush, soothing illustrations are appealing, as the author gets her point across. While everyone’s story is different, the desire for a better life is the thread which binds us all together.

We the Dreamers would be a marvelous addition to libraries, classrooms, and homes with young children.

This children's book would appeal to children and families that are, or have been directly decended from, immigrants, especially to the USA. The book's unique feature is that it can be read in both English and Spanish. This may well help reader and listener, alike, feel "at home," overcome homesickness, culture shock and that someone understands.

“We the Dreamers” is a perfect text to teach current immigration and the history of our immigrant nation. Every child and family had their own unique journey and faced different challenges. It’s a great starting point to introduce immigration and our multicultural heritage.

This was a fun and quick read. What I mostly liked about this book was the title it self, "We the Dreamers". Being a Dreamer myself, it's refreshing to see that the author is of Latin decent, and knows first hand the many obstacles that many face in real life to come to America "Land of the Free". It's a very relatable book. The author did a great job with keeping it kid friendly. The illustration is impressive, and easy to read. This book would be good for someone who is starting out in Pre-K through K. The English/Spanish translation was the cherry on top and genius. I appreciate this book very much.

This is a lovely, sensitive portrayal of how a variety of kids came to America. Some journeys were easier and simpler than others, and the author doesn't shy away from the hardships and sacrifices some faced, though the tone and wording remain kid-friendly.

The illustrations are very pretty and help bring the story to life. Told in parallel in English and Spanish, the overarching theme is that we are all more the same than different. This is a wonderful story to spark empathy in young kids and would be a great read for pre-K and elementary classrooms.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
