Love marriage of convenience so this one was just great! I didn't think I'd be too into the historical/regency-era but this one proves me wrong again. Amazing!!

To Marry and to Meddle by Martha Waters is another wonderful Regency-Era romance novel with strong characters, a likeable lead, and captivating storyline. This is the third book in a series and I also highly recommend the other two, especially if you are a fan of Julia Quinn novels. It's a fun book with a strong lead and a fake marriage/dating story.

This is the third book in the Regency Vows series. It's an historical romance. Lady Emily Turner is exquisitely beautiful and her father is planning on marrying her off to a horrible suitor who will pay his gambling debts. Lord Julian Belfry, owner of a theater, is estranged from his family. Julian and Emily are often together given their friends have been couple son the first two books of this series. They come up with a plan. A marriage of convenience could suit each of them. Lady Emily won't have to marry her father's choice, and she'll have some choices in how she lives the rest of her life. And, Lord Julian, might gain some respectability with the lovely Lady Emily as his wife.

What they don't count on are feelings for each other. They also don't count on Emily deciding she wants to get involved in the work at the theater. I really enjoyed watching Julian and Emily navigate their marriage of convenience (one of my favorite tropes) and their growing feelings for each other. I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the earlier books. This was an enjoyable quick read.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy. All opinions are my own.

This book was everything I wanted it to be. It had me turned pages without even realizing. It was so good!

Loved this third installation of the series "The Regency Vows." I thought this was a great follow up to Waters' "To Love and to Loathe." Lady Emily Turner has been the shielded "good girl" whose "well-bred background" has her all sorts of innocent to the relations between a man and a woman.

In contrast Julian is a bit of a "misunderstood character" who is constantly under the thumb of his father. After feeling rejected by his father and constantly vying for his attention his relationship is Emily is exactly what his business needs to be seen as more legitimate.

Unsure if I would buy this title, but definitely a great read for somebody looking for a regency romance.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced digital copy!

Such a cute marriage of convenience story. I was charmed by both of these main characters. And their romance was sweet and enjoyable as they slowly realized their feelings for one another. It was great seeing some last characters too!

This was an excellent cozy, historical romance novel. Likeable characters, which a fun story behind it. This was not very spicy, which is fine if that's your jam, but it's generally not mine.

I'd read more by this author for sure.

To Marry and to Meddle was a delightful marriage of convenience story full of sharp, witty banter, heartfelt, tender moments, and sizzling chemistry. This story had me doubled over with laughter one moment and then swooning the next. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, sexy romp of a Regency Romance.

Huge thank you to netgalley and Atria for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in The Regency Vows series following a group of friends in the regency erao. This book finds Lady Emily and Julian, the disowned theater owner, entering a marriage of convenience so she can escape her overbearing family and so he can restore the reputation of his theater. Neither really knows how to communicate well with the other nor have they figured out their roles in the other’s life leading to frustration on both their parts. Of course the marriage becomes less convenient as the pair start to develop real feelings for one another.

This book was pure fluff. Like I listened to most of the audiobook on 2x speed level of fluff. Fluff is fine, but I like my historical romances to have a bit more substance. I found this book reminded me of the YA regency romances I read as a young teen before I found real romance novels. I found myself growing tired of Emily’s friends, who are the heroines of the other books in the series. Usually when characters appear from a past book it makes me really excited, but for some reason that wasn’t the case with this book for me. Overall this book was fine, but I’m not dying for the next book in the series.

If you're a fan of Historical Romance, this is right up your alley. This was such a cute read. Marriage of Convenience is one of my favourite tropes and this one did it so well. This one really had me wanting to go back to reading historical romances because it just has such an incredible vibe. I loved the characters in this one, I was really invested in their relationship and their individual journeys. I love that they were so supportive of each other, I loved their relationship and their banter. I loved the forced proximity and how their relationship developed. This one made me laugh out loud and just made me so happy and I absolutely loved it.

Another fun, banter-filled regency romcom from Martha Waters! I loved her two previous books and this one is just as good. Emily and Julian's story did not disappoint and I appreciate the wonderful friendship between Emily, Diana and Violet. Cannot wait for book #4!

Thanks to Atria books for the copy to review.

I love every relationship and everything in this novel. I love Julian and Emily together. All of Julian’s siblings are gold. I love the 3 women staying strong, and their husbands. Even the theater manager, Laverre. All the best cast of characters.

Having not read books 1 or 2 in years, I had no trouble picking this up. Felt slow for the first half, but I was always busy with other things so perhaps my own fault for being slow.

Probably 3.5 stars. While I did not love this installment as much as To Love and To Loathe, this was still great fun! Martha Waters writes funny, light-hearted romances with characters you want to root for. I also find the pacing of her novels to be perfect timed. At times the plot of this novel felt a bit contrived, but the development of their feelings felt real. Thank you to Atria Books for an e-copy of this work, and apologies for the delay in my review!

I ended up listening to this on audio, and while I didn't love the narrator, I really enjoyed the book! Martha Waters's writing is bright and funny, and I love a surprise kitten.

I love this series and this book was no exception. Lady Emily and Lord Julian have an arrangement. He needs his theatre business to look more legitimate and she needs a husband so she can have freedom from her parents. They decide on a quick wedding as the solution to both of their problems. Quickly, they realize that they might want more than they both thought. Julian may not want a perfect wife and Emily may want to gain a backbone and ask for what she really wants.
This is a slow burn romance that will leave you feeling so happy

To Marry and To Meddle is one of my favorite regency era books published this year. Martha Waters proves that third time is the charm.

Emily is a debutante who's family is in debts to a scoundrel. Julian is a man disowned by his father and NEEDS to look better with society. Quickly, Julian proposes to Emily to update his social status. The rest is a meddling of family, friends and society. But will Julian and Emily's marriage be one of love and laughter? Or will the meddling be enough to bring this marriage to a halt?

I enjoyed reading To Mary and To Meddle. Both characters had great development throughout and were likeable. However; I do wish Emily had more of a backbone and stuck up for herself like the other female characters in the series. Some of the scenes occurring were unbelievable but may have been likely to happen in that historical time period. While this book is apart of a series, it may also be read as a standalone. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys regency romances or the Bridgerton series.

This is a great historical romance, and I don't usually like or read this genre. The character development was great and I will definitely be reading more Martha Waters in the future.

To Marry and to Meddle was a delight! I loved this regency romance with a more modern take on hi-jinx thrown in! I haven’t read the author’s previous books but was still able to enjoy this book and follow along. I loved seeing the Emily and Julian’s relationship blossom!
