I’m catching up on some older arc. The premise of the story intrigue me. I value my female friendships. Ava, Hallie and Quinn are in their 50’s living in New York City have their Wednesday night wine get together each have personal drama going on that they are keeping to themselves. When Ava’s inherits a beachfront home on Nantucket, the ladies all decide to go. Each lady finds a peace on Nantucket and decides to stay. The book is a collection of what will be a series books currently there are 11.. If you are wanting a quick beach read, this book is for you. My rating is a 3.5.

Thank yo #NetGalley, #AislingDelaney and #TheNantucketBeachfrontInn:SconsetBeachBooks for the ebook for my honest review.

🎉Summary🎉
Lexi is getting married and her hen party is in Greece. Traveling with her are her best friends from growing up, Bella and Robyn, Bella's girlfriend Fen, who's aunt owns the house they are staying, a newer friend from yoga Ana and her fiancé's sister, Eleanor. The story starts with a dead body at the end of the trip so now we see what led up to the events of the death… and who it was who died.

🎉Review🎉
This was such a good mystery/thriller. I'm so mad it took me so long to get to it! Starting from the end with a scene of a dead body being taken away, we go back to the arrival at the beginning of the weekend and jump perspectives between all the hen party guests. As we learn backstory from each woman, we see they all have hidden agendas for being there or secret connections. It was a fun thriller and I really enjoyed the story.

I’m so sad to say…this was just a no for me.

We recently took a trip to the New England area and I was excited to read a story set in this place…but I couldn’t get past the weakness of the main character. I prefer my female leads to be more…just more. She felt so flat for me, no fire, and a little childish for being in her 50’s.

I felt there was a lot of unnecessary information, too many pop culture references that take away from the originality of the story…and it wasn’t funny like I hoped either.

I won’t be reading any more from this series, as this just isn’t what I had hoped when I picked it up.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how the book talked on when one door closes another one opens and it is usually better! I would definitely recommend this book.

The Nantucket Beachfront Inn has all the marks of a good read; well written characters, great scenery, decent plot, and good pacing. The reason I rounded my 3.5 down to three stars instead of up to four has to do with the overabundance of pop culture references and a feeling the author was throwing every hook into this book to see what would stick. I think there are good bones, it's just a bit fleshy around the middle. As this is the first in a series, I hope Ms. Keaton will refine and limit her story ideas. Overall, I feel it has great potential, and will be reading at least one more, and hopefully all future titles. Thanks to Netgalley and/or the publisher for giving me this title in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book by Ainsling Delaney that I have read. I really enjoyed it so I will be reading more of her books in the future.

Ava, Halley and Quinn are three best friends who tell each other almost everything. They live in New York and now that Ava has lost her job and inherited a house in Nantucket. They were all moving to Nantucket.

This story will make you laugh, smile and maybe cry with all the emotions twirling in the story. I really enjoyed it and just could not put it down.

First time reading a book by this author. I will read more because I liked her style of writing and the liked storyline. What I didn’t like about this book though is the fact that it is a series. The last few chapters a whole bunch of drama was thrown in and then nothing was solved so that you have to keep reading the next book(s). I am not a big fan of having to read series.
The basic story about Ava and how she rose above her challenging situation and reinvented herself was good. She had supportive friends and her relationship with several family members improves throughout the book.
I gave it 3 stars because of the series aspect. Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy in return for my honest review

BOOK REVIEW

BOOK: The Nantucket Beachfront Inn
AUTHOR: Ainsley Keaton
FORMAT: eBook
RATING: DNF (did not finish)

MY THOUGHTS

I started this book and found that I had a lot of difficulty connecting to the story. I did not finish it, not for lack of quality of the book but more so that I felt it was a “right book wrong time” situation where I wasn’t in the right mindset for this one at this time! Hopefully will be picking it back up in the future!

Finally getting around to catching up on my older ARCS. I really enjoyed this beach read. The first in a series of 8 and my first from this Author. A saga told from the main protagonist POV and about her life and friends and family and how she starts to rebuild her life with them all after adversary in all aspects of her life. I look forward to the rest of the series. Thank you to Netgalley, and the Author Ainsley Keaton for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved getting to know all of the main characters in this book, and while I wondered if everything was going to wrapped up by the end of the book, the author did not disappoint and really brought everything together in the end.

It was a good story of families and new beginnings.

I am obsessed with Nantucket so I enjoyed the scenery of the book but the character development was only OK.

Give me a book set in Nantucket and I’m there. A book about women and their friendship. Sold. Put the two together and they make for the perfect beach read. Yet, I really struggled to connect with the characters. The book’s premise sounded promising, but the characters didn’t feel well developed, and there seemed to be too much going on to seem believable or keeping me turning pages. I really wanted to like this book, and maybe I would have in a different headspace, but this one just wasn’t for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Ainsley Keating for an advance copy of this book.

I tried to like this book. I really did. I was attracted to the novel because its protagonist is a female attorney, and so am I. So I thought I could relate. I couldn't.

The plot just isn't believable. There's no way on earth an attorney -- a high-powered, experienced female tax attorney, like this character -- would let her husband withdraw all her life savings from a joint bank account when he leaves her and then do nothing. That's just not believable. But our protagonist, Ava, just resigns herself to it.

There's also no way a professional, experienced attorney would tell off an important firm client, even if she did have a death wish to get fired. It just doesn't happen. And why wasn't she a partner after she spent so many years at her firm anyway?

In addition to the unbelievable plot line, the book is filled with grammatical errors, spelling errors (magick instead of magic/Sidney, Australia instead of Sydney) and cliches ("Denial wasn't just a river in Egypt," really?). Plus there are way too many references to TV shows and to Sex and the City in particular. Don't compare characters to Carrie and Miranda; show, don't tell.

I know a lot of people read this book and seems to have given it good reviews, but it just didn't work for me -- although it did convince me that if this author can write a book and sell it, so can I.

This book had potential as I normally enjoy storylines about friendship. However, this didn't quite work for me. There was a lot going on and it felt very disjointed. Bringing in Willow's storyline was super random.

2.5-3 stars

THE NANTUCKET BEACHFRONT INN by Ainsley Keaton was a perfect book for me to end my “summer reading”. It fulfills beach read for me.
Ava, fired from her job of 23 years after her husband stole her savings and left her for another woman. Ava is estranged from a daughter she does not understand and grapples with her relationship with a strong domineering mother.
When a client leaves Ava a beach house on Nantucket Island she embraces the gift and moves to Nantucket with her close friends to start life anew.
I really enjoyed mature women (50’s) navigating life with the support and love of their friends.

This is a strong contender if you enjoy a beach read and a strong portrayal of women and women’s friendships.

Talk about a great book for the beach! This was a quick, easy read that made me yearn for the ocean and a nice beach vacation! The first book in a series, I’ll definitely be giving more of them a try!

The premise for this book is a good one, but I felt as if the story did not pan out. The story starts out with a rant against billionaires who evade taxes and lack support of social institutions. Ava works at a law firm that defends these people, and she has been there for 30 years and has not made partner. Why would someone work at a firm that takes her for granted, does not promote her, and conducts business with which she morally disagrees? Then she accepts a house as an inheritance from one of the clients whom she helped to evade taxes. This seemed like a cognitive disconnect. There were too many characters to keep straight and too much going on. I wish the author had stuck with the original premise and left out the magic and new age stuff. Probably a fun beach read if someone likes this kind of story, but it's just not my cup of tea.

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
