Ava finds herself without a job and owning a huge beachfront home on Nantucket. She and her friends, Quinn and Hallie, set out to turn the house into an inn and change their unhappy lives in the process.

While the premise of this book really seemed interesting to me, the actual storyline was not what I expected. Without giving anything away, I found most of it predictable with the exception of one storyline that I thought was ridiculous. Not at all what I had hoped and don’t see how there will be a series from this idea.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a light-hearted story about 3 best friends who are each in unique stages of life. They find themselves reinventing themselves, somewhat, after some events take place. These reinventions lead them from New York city, to a beach community.

They go through some very difficult things, but going through them causes their bond to be strengthened.

There is a touch of magic/ casting spells in it, but doesn't really take away from this lovely story of friendship/ family.

Enjoyed this book on Nantucket! I loved how the main character picked up and reinvented her life! What strength! I love how she was able to reconnect with her daughter and build a new business and life with her best friends. A great quick read that makes you wish for the summer weather and to be lucky to be on Nantucket!

The Nantucket Beachfront Inn is an entertaining story about Ava Flynn and her friends. It’s about family, life, sickness, and second chances. It was my first book by Ainsley Keaton, and I truly loved it. I was proud of Ava for standing up for what she believed even though it cost her a well paying job, I was hopeful for her that the move to Nantucket would be successful, I was scared for Hallie and all she was going through. I was also loving that Quinn just picked up and moved her business to be close to Ava. These ladies are great friends and support each other through it all. I loved Willow and her abilities to help people in different ways. I was excited to realize that this is the first in a series. There are many characters in the book that I hope to see again. I want to know all about Willow and Jackson. Can’t wait for the second book!

This was a very well written book. I absolutely love books about Nantucket and romance. I enjoyed the beach read vibes of this title. It reminded me of Elin Hilderbrand novels. Ava was a great character, that I felt was relatable to many women at different points in their life. I'd love to read more by this author!

I was granted a free copy of this text by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book was quite disappointing. I was hoping for a much better story based upon the description, but unfortunately most of the story was revealed in the synopsis.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a book about Nantucket. I visited this special island for the first time last year and feel in love. Since then I’ve enjoyed going back to Nantucket in books! Lovely story! A great book for Elin Hilderbrand fans!

I really was excited for this book. A great premise, characters about my age that I could relate to and an opening chapter that really engaged me. Then the story spiraled out of control. Ava, the main character, is fired from her job as a defense attorney for wealthy clients and learns of an inheritance- a house in Nantucket. Her excitement of the inheritance wanes as she learns of the stipulations, one being she may not sell it for a certain amount of time. Ava then decides to turn it into an upscale bed and breakfast. Thus Ava and her two friends Quinn and Hallie find themselves headed to Nantucket and change for each of them.
This story had so much potential but it seemed that the author couldn't decide where the focus of the story needed to be. Knowing that this is to be book one of seven I think Keaton tried to introduce every character set for the series and give us their full history. Too much going on in one book and never really knowing who the book was supposed to be about. A little disappointed.
I appreciate the opportunity from NetGalley to read and review the book. All opinions are mine.

I.m pleased this will be part of a series. I enjoyed the characters and while some parts seemed too good to be true (who gets a beautiful beach house from an almost stranger and convinces their entire family and friends network to move to the island?) The witch area got into a bit of magical surrealism, which isn't my favorite category. Overall I found it entertaining and will read the series.

Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy of this book. A high-powered lawyer torpedoes her career, she has limited financial resources due to an ex absconding with her savings, her relationships with her mother and her children are cool at best, rocky at worst. An ex client leaves her a house in Nantucket in his will. She moves there with her two best friends, reconnects with her children, and opens an inn in the house. Along the way, her grandchild becomes ill, one of her best friends fights cancer, and a mysterious "witch" ensnares her son. First in a series.

Nantucket Beach Front Inn by Ainsley Keaton (3 stars)
Synopsis: Attorney Ava Flynn, who works with wealthy people who have tax issues, suddenly loses her job when she loses her patience with a client and tells him to just pay his taxes! Her soon to be ex- husband has wiped out her savings account, too, leaving Ava unemployed and almost broke. As she struggles with her next steps, she obtains an unexpected bequeathment from another client: a large house on Nantucket. So Ava sets out with her 2 best friends to Nantucket for her “next chapter.”
What I liked: The friendship between the three women. Ava’s friends go with her, one relocates to Nantucket herself. The other has a thriving business in Manhattan and doesn’t feel able to go, but she takes a month off to help her friends set up their new homes.
The relationship between Ava’s children. Ava has three children (triplets), and though we only really meet two of them, they all seem to have a really great bond.
The relationship between Ava and her mother. While it does seem that Ava’s mother is very harsh with her, at heart, she has Ava’s best at heart. And she loves her grandchildren.
I also liked the location. I love a book set in Nantucket.
What I didn’t like: There was a lot going on in this book! I believe I read in the author’s note, or in her bio, that Ainsley Keaton is a big fan of other authors such as Elin Hilderbrand and Nora Roberts. That was very apparent after reading this book.
There is also a lot of weird language used in this book. By weird, I mean old language. For example, “Every so once in a while, I can hear people walking by with a boombox”, “in high cotton”, “big shindig happens”. I don’t think anyone in 2022 still says any of these things. It was weird. I did look up the author at that point to see how old this woman was because the name Ainsley infers a young author. I discovered a woman more my age (50). The use of this outdated language was very distracting to me.
Lastly, I did not enjoy the witch storyline at all. That’s when I thought Ms. Keaton was channelling too many authors she reads. While Nora Roberts can pull off a book with characters who use magick, the use of it in this book was just off and not necessary.
Thank you to #netgalley and #sunrisebooks for the advanced e-copy of #nantucketbeachfrontinn. This is the first book in a planned series, and while I did like the book overall, I don’t plan to pursue the remaining books in the series.

Ava has dealt with raising three children after her husband was killed, working as a high paying lawyer in a man's world, and being swindled by her 2nd husband. Through all of this she has a tumultuous relationship with her daughters and is uncertain of her future. One day her defenses slip and she loses her job and can't afford her high cost condo. Not sure where the future will lead her, she finds out that one of her former clients leaves her a large house on Nantucket. She takes a leap and with her two best friends in tow, moves to Nantucket to renovate the house to open as a boutique hotel. Her friends both have things going on that they don't share, her daughters' marriage is on the rocks, and Ava wonders if she will be able to do this, or it will all come crashing down around her. I enjoyed this book and the various points of view and story lines. It has a little something for everyone and I look forward to reading more about what happens with the various characters.

ava is an attorney who loses her job and her husband, a wealthy client leaves her a beach house, and she decides to turn it into a bed and breakfast, her friend is ill but she doesn't know, her daughter lives nearby and they haven't always gotten along. a good story about second chances.

I have to think that i was given an unedited version of this book. It was SO repetitive. In fact, in one place entire paragraphs were repeated. I couldn’t get past it. Someone would be described as a character’s “best friend” multiple times in the same paragraph. The ending was also incredibly unsatisfying - several bombs dropped with no foreshadowing whatsoever.

I wanted to love this book. But it was not for me. I don't know if the author ever even visited Nantucket to write it?

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked this book and appreciated the relationships among the various female characters, but I didn’t love it.

Ava Flynn is a 54-year-old high powered attorney, living in New York and finds herself without a job and she is unsure what her future holds. However, she may have found some direction when she learns that one of her wealthy clients left her a home on Nantucket that she wants to turn into a bed and breakfast with her two best girlfriends. We are also introduced to Ava’s estranged daughter, Charlotte. Charlotte recently gave birth to a baby and not all things are well with her and her husband and she finds herself moving in with her mom while facing a potential divorce from her husband.

Despite the closeness Ava has with her two best girlfriends, her one friend Mila has been hiding a cancer diagnosis and treatment from her friends. Of course, once the friends become aware, they jump in to help Mila in any way they can but on her terms.

Overall, it was a fast, fun read that dealt with the messiness of life and relationships. At the end of the novel, the author leaves the reader with several cliff hangers that would require you to read the next book to figure out what happens. Rather than a slow build, it felt like it was rushed to just quickly set the stage for what is going to happen next. For me, I think what comes next will probably remain unanswered since I probably won’t continue the series.

I received a copy of this book from #Netgalley for my honest opinion.
At first I was confused when I was a few chapters in, because the story line was almost the same as another book I had finished (while sidelined with a horrible cold), that I had also gotten from Netgalley but with a different title and author name. I thought there may have been some plagiarism happening, but after doing some research I came to the realization that the first book was written by the same author.
That said, I think the author or publisher should make sure to note somewhere that she had changed the story line, and characters, from the first book to the second. Goodreads should be taken care of also.
Now on to my review of this book…
Ah, the changes a person goes through in their life. This story shows that no matter our situations in Life, there are always ways to make Life a little bit better. But, most importantly, it’s the people we encounter in our lives that help us get to a better, more fulfilling position. Even though there were a lot of characters (Willow’s my favorite!), their parts in the story all eventually meld together and work out in the end. There will be parts where you might think “Umm, what the what?”, but these parts do get worked through. And, there will be more books in this series according to the author.

The Nantucket Beachfront Inn is the first book in a new series written by Ainsley Keaton set in 'Sconset Beach area of Nantucket. There are so many characters and each one seems to have their own issues to work through (like real life!) I felt connected to the three main characters out on this new journey to fix up this house and turn it into a bed and breakfast...initially I think, because I am also in my 50's. There was so much more to these women and I came to really connect on different levels. I also liked the triplets though there were not always easy to get along with.

The book has many plot lines going at the same time and it is a little hard to keep track of everything in a way that does not feel rushed or shoved in. I am still interested in reading the next book to see if maybe the pace and timing settles down a bit. Terrific themes like redemption follow the unravelling of multiple secrets.. and I think the series has promise.

Thank you to NetGalley for this digital advance review copy of The Nantucket Beachfront Inn by Ainsley Keaton for me to read and enjoy. My opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.

** spoiler alert ** This book had so much potential. I understand to create a series you have to introduce most of the main characters. However she created too many plot points and tried to resolve too many of them in too short of a book. Siobhan's illness, the attraction to Deacon and then, literally throw in the Jackson/Willow pregnancy on the last page? Too much and not enough at the same time. Introduce the supporting characters but leave the storylines ongoing. If Siobhan had still been in the hospital; Hallie learning to heal inside and out was still being detailed and the attraction to the chef has a little more oomph; Ava and Deacon's attraction (anyone else realize the romantic leads are the names of a celebrity's children?) was left in play...

I wanted to like this book so much. I'd read the next one in the series just to see if she smooths out the storytelling, but if not, I'll stop with that one.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

I am confused - NetGalley states the author's name is Ainsley Keaton; however, Goodreads lists it as Ainsling Delaney. I know it's the same book as the description for the book is the same.

This book conflicts me. On one hand - finally - a book written about women in their 50's going through life changes that is not completely depressing. Women with real life issues that are trying to move about their lives, some starting over, some needing a change.

However, there were some parts that were.... odd. The parts with Willow seemed to make this story less believable. However, if you believe in the healing, then I guess it works.

I wish the town of Nantucket had been described more - that is one reason I chose this book - wanting to read more about a place I want to visit. At the end of the book, the author said this would be part of a 7 part series. I might read book 2 to see if the story improves.
