Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I was so intrigued by the plot of this story. It was cute and uplifting and everything I imagined it was going to be.

A most enjoyable friends-to-lovers story. Jane, trying to improve her reputation, decides the best way to go about it is to marry. Not wanting or expecting a love match she asks George, a friend of her brothers' for his help.
George, having promised to watch over her during the season, agrees to assist her. Although he is attracted to her himself, he knows he has responsibilities to his family that preclude him marrying. Jane, who also has feelings for him, becomes frustrated when he begins steering her toward other men.
Thank you Charlie Lane, Wolf Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

After her reputation is destroyed all because she ran after her friend in the company of Lord Devon, Lady Jane knows that she will need to marry, if not for herself, but for her brother's happiness. Over the Christmas period, there's a house party planned, in which Jane has the chance to meet some suitors who aren't bothered by her reputation, and and can pick someone to marry. Her friend, George, Earl of Abbington, has been helpful in finding suitors, but when he is injured at the event, and needs to rest, Jane finds it hard to focus on her task, and instead spend her time with George. And for George, too, he's regretting the fact he brought men to meet Jane, when he realises that the only person he wants her to marry is himself.

I knew when I read Daring the Duke that Jane and George would be the protagonists of their own story. It was clear that there was a chemistry and attraction between them, and I loved their banter in this book. Something really refreshing, too, was that George was the first one to realise his own feelings, and really fight to show Jane he wanted to marry her and would do right by her. There are some difficult topics discussed, particularly loss and addiction, which allowed the characters to seem more real. Though there were many twists and turns towards the happy ending, Jane and George's story was sweet, and definitely perfect for the couple.

Our heroine is Jane, and she needs to get married like yesterday. So, she is going choose from bachelors --just pick the best of the bunch. George is her bro's friend, and he'll help her. Oh boy. So, this is just delicious watching these 2 figure out the best bachelor for her... is him. Loved it!

This one took a little too long to get going and once it did, there were a few too many plot twists. Just a little took far I think, I did appreciate the female friendships, and the solidarity.

This was a friends-to-lovers story between Lady Jane and George. George promises Jane's brother that he will protect her during the season and instead ends up trying to throw random suitors at her. Jane is attracted to George but he avoids his feelings with her because of his own issues with his Uncle.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. It didn't have the same tension as the others in the series. I found that I kept picking it up and putting it down. I also just didn't really connect with the main characters. This wasn't for me but then I am not usually a huge friends-to-lovers reader so it could just be a matter of personal preference.

This is book 2 in the Debutante Dares series. In this one Sarah from book 1 is needing to find a husband by Christmas. I thought the story was well done but it felt drawn out. I am looking forward to the next one.

Read 26% of the way into this book but kept starting and stopping. I had trouble getting into it and figured it was better to review as is. It was written well just not my cup of tea. That said I enjoyed the first book.

A Dare To Far is book two in Charlie Lane's The Debutante Dares series. A delightfully witty story centered around a holiday house party where Lady Jane must choose her future husband. The Earl of Abbington, a close family friend who happened to select several of the gentleman suitors, is not amused with how Jane decides to go about making her final decision. Those who love opposites attract, friends to lovers stories will not be disappointed.

A Dare Too Far is a good if not exciting friends-to-lovers story. Picking up where book 1 left off--Jane with a reputation ruined after she attempted to save her friend from a situation the friend didn't want saving from--this book starts at a Christmastime house party. Jane is to pick a husband from a handful of gentlemen guests. Three were handpicked by George, who somehow feels responsible for Jane's fall from grace.

George, Jane's brother's BFF, arrives intending to stay only briefly, but ends up with a dislocated shoulder and a concussion. We learn that he is in love with Jane but won't marry her because he fears for her safety; he has an opium-addicted uncle back home. However, after witnessing Jane's bachelorette-styled challenges, he finds his resolve wavering.

The rest of the story is a back-and-forth of we can-we can't which gets frustrating, especially after the two become intimate. Both Jane and George are really nice, and it just took a little too long to resolve their conflict. That said, the book is well written and charming in its way, and I definitely will read the rest of the series.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

Lady Jane has a substantial dowry and only a week to choose a husband. George, her brother’s best friend, has put together some decent suitors and they are all at her home. George came to check on how things were going, planning to leave right away. Instead he ended up recovering from catching Jane when she fell from a tree directly on him. George is attracted to Lady Jane but Uncle Neville lives with him and he feels his uncle is his responsibility. Neville raised him but now his terrors and opium addiction is unpredictable and he fears for Jane to be in his house. Jane has no intention of marrying any of the suitors but goes through various ploys to make George jealous. Her on and off decision to marry George and then his on and off decision to not marry Jane got a little old for me.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series and I was waiting for this one.
I was a bit disappointed because it was hard for me to finish this story. Jane just annoyed me. George was a better character but the relationship between them seem off to me. He was more a protector than her own brother. It’s well written, but maybe not my cup of tea?
I’m definitely going to read the next story because I know that this author has a lot to give and maybe it was just me.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was just as interesting as the rest of the series.
The heroine is part of a group of debutantes who met each other in the ball rooms and were not interedting so they took to daring each other to do something that would not get them into trouble, but was not the best thing to do. Innocent pranks. One prank lead one of group into a dash to the border chased by our heroine and a friend of the person who was dashing. Our heroine agreed to go, unchaperoned, in a carriage with a man. That man, who had been totally drunk since then, offered marriage at least 5 times to the heroine. And she refuses. Why? Because she feels she did nothing wrong, she was helping her friend. But in her heart, she is refusing because one of her best friend is in love with that man, and he returns her friend's feelings. So she keeps refusing him. But she is at a house party,at her house, at Christmas. With 4 or 5 eligible bachelors that she must be engaged and married to by Christmas. So our heroine decides to help her friend find true love by daring herself to go out into the forest at dusk in a snow storm to get some mistletoe. Alone. And she shoots the mistletoe out of the tree, but it gets hung up on the branches. Luckily, a family friend of her brother, hears the gunshots and sees her footsteps and follows her to the tree just in ti.e to have her land on him because she had climbed the tree to get mistletoe. A family friend she had been in love with for many years is under her, in the snow lying lifeless because he hit his head on a snow covered stone. She gets him back to the house, but he is unconcious. The heroine sits with him until he awakes.
This story was very well written. I enjoyed the descriptions because I felt as if I was actually there, in the story. The characters were developed yet matured throughout the story. This was a story that addressed addiction and how it was treated at those times. I felt the flow of the story was a little slow and I didn't like the age gap of the couple. I give this book 4 stars and a recommendation to read.

This is the second installment of The Debutante Dares series. I fell in love with this series with the first book and this one is just as fun and captivating! This is a friends to lovers story, which is always fun to read. If you read the first book you are already familiar with Lady Jane. She was involved in a quite a scandal with Lord Devon in the first book, and now is desperate to find a husband. Being a ruined lady, she has limited choices. When her brother has a Christmas house party and her friend George is forced to stay with them because he becomes injured, he and Jane become very close. Although they have been friends for a long time, that's all they really were -friends. But now they are seeing each other in a new light. The witty and humorous dialogue between the two really had me smiling and laughing out loud at times. And the chemistry between the two was undeniable! This is a tantalizing and fun Regency romp you don't want to miss. And I suggest you start with book 1, so you can get a little more understanding of Jane and her situation. Looking forward to the next one!

Lady Jane needs a husband, and fast. Her reputation as been damaged and in order to restore it, and allow her brother to marry the woman he wishes to, she needs to fix her reputation. A friend of her brother's has sent three suitable suitors to her home for a Christmas gathering so that she can decide who to marry. However, she has NO feelings towards any of them. She likes them, but love? No. She feels she is never going to be allowed to find love as she has this lingering issue of her reputation.

The Earl of Abbington (Janes' brother's friend) is a man that is very strict and steadfast in his beliefs. He will not allow himself to find love as he has other factors at play.

When their worlds collide at the house party, there are fireworks but neither will cave. What to do? What to do?

I enjoyed this 2nd book in the series. I am looking forward to #3.

This is the second book in the series The Debutante Dares series. George, the Earl of Abbington is responsible for his opium-addicted uncle and feels that he can never risk marrying. Yet he cannot avoid Lady Jane and her brother’s request to help her marry well. George does all he can to help, only to find himself, wishing that he could marry Jane.
Both Jane and George and two likeable characters and yet, they can’t seem to find a way to be together. It was reassuring that Jane stood by George, despite his oscillation between being with her and trying to protect her. This was a tumultuous romance, filled with plenty of angst. An enjoyable read.

The second book in Lane's The Debutante Dares series, A Dare Too Far feels remarkably similar to the first book - and not always in a good way.

My review of the first book basically came down to the word "adorable." It was not the most exciting story, but it was cute enough. The choice to make this book a little darker and a bit more dramatic was definitely a good one, but I still had an issue with these protagonists reading almost as teenagers throughout the book. I don't know what it is about Lane's characters, but they all feel like they are sixteen until the steamy scenes remind us that they are in fact actually adults.

In a similar vein, the central couple of this book - Jane and George - felt like they are just carbon copies of the couple from the first book. There was really nothing to me that distinguished them as individuals that were facing a completely different set of circumstances.

On a positive note, there were some really creative house party scenes that I thought were great fun. Once we left the house party, however, we got a series "I love you" and "No, I can't be with you" scenes that go back and forth far too many times. I had hoped that centering this book in Christmas would have mitigated that by providing a hard deadline of sorts, but alas.

This might not have been a home run for me, but considering that more books in this series are coming, there is certainly an audience out there for this. I wish them all happy reading!

Thank you to NetGalley and WOLF Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

Historical Romance has been done 1,000 times over, yet I still come back to them, why? A Dare Too Far is a sweet, funny, and witty take on this genre. The setting is simplistic, it doesn't make you keep track of all the locations each character goes to, etc. Lady Jane is adorable. She's smart (though she doesn't give herself enough credit), she's an extremely likable and down to earth character. George...he's dreamy. The characters alone are extremely relatable and Charlie's writing even makes the less desirable characters, tolerable.

The book itself is well written, the story line follows Lady Jane, who's hosting eligible bachelors that she must choose from by Christmas. None of the bachelors are a true match for her and would ultimately be her "settling". Little does she realize that her lifelong friendship with her brother's best friend may just pan out differently.

This was an entertaining, well-written historical romance. It was clever and held my interest. I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #2 in the Debutante Dares series. I enjoyed this historical romance and look forward to reading more books in this series.

This book is the second installment of the “Debutante Dares” series. This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone, as I did not read the first one.

Lady Jane Crenshaw needs a husband, as her reputation has been ruined. The Earl of Abbington, George promised her brother that he would protect her and he feels like he failed, so he proposes Jane to choose from three suitors during a house party. However, George soon discovers he has feelings for Jane about the same time as the suitors do not measure up. George has reservations about a marriage and goes back and forth on whether or not he should marry Jane.
