The title of this book hooked me right from the start. I wanted to ask "why not"?
This book is a good read for everyone that is interested in religion vs a relationship with God. Religion has so many manmade rules that are rigidly enforced by some religions. I think that this could be one of the reasons that many religions are losing membership. I love books that make us examine ourselves and the decisions we are making. Don't be afraid to ask hard questions.

Beautiful, challenging, heartfelt reflections on the mystery of living a life in the love that is God. This mystery is not to be found in rigid attitudes or fail-safe platitudes. Thanks to Chandrika for pushing the boundaries, making us think through our beliefs rather than thoughtlessly become blind..

I was interested in this book primarily for the deconstruction of Christianity presented by the author. It was an interesting read and I wish more Christians would go through this type of deconstruction.

In her powerful debut, Ms. Phea offers the reader poignant reflections about God inspired by her own experiences living outside of the Westernized Christian boxes both the deity and its adherents have been shoved into.I hope everyone in the world reads “Lord, I Don’t Want to Die a Christian, and is changed because of these blessed words. To some it will sound like an orchestra they’ve been wanting to find the words to. For others it will be a gong they will wake up to or want to silence. Either way Ms. Phea stands in the gap for those who know there’s more to an infinite God than can be measured by finite beings. The truth she offers is eternal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this thought provoking book. It was an easy read that kept my attention. I believe this is for Believers with questions as well as for the Remnant. You will find answers to many questions you may have. It will also stir up more questions with in you. I found it to draw me closer in relationships. Asking of myself am I truly walking in love toward others? As the author sought direction for her purpose I believe this book will nudge you to do the same for yourself.

I'm so happy, I have tears.
Chandrika asked the questions so many of us on the freedom journey have asked and are asking. Thank you Chandrika, for not shying away from presenting how and why we make the choice not to be religious but to be God's children. Thank you for the research you have done and for sharing the revelations God has given you. Christianity will balk at Chandrika's writings, just from the title alone, but those of us that have evolved and want pure relationships with God, instead of religion, will devour every word in this book. Thank you God for Chandrika's journey and thank you Chandrika for sharing.

The title of this book alone had me taking that initial moment to give it a chance, and as I read, I found myself more engaged with the topic and drawn in by author Chandrika Phea's story of removing the "fig leaves" to discover her authentic self and belief system.
In one of her journal entries, Chandrika writes, "when hearing the title of this book, (people) conclude that Christianity hurt me. It didn't hurt me. Christianity hindered me." And her journal allows us to take that journey of un-hindering herself with her.
This book stands out to me because of all the times I've asked, "What was I thinking?" Chandrika has gone back into her journal that she started when she was teaching in Central China and shared personal moments that she pairs with how she's thinking today. The honesty of her writing and the willingness to share the good, bad, and ugly is refreshing but, also, challenging.
It seems a cornerstone of Christianity is to take everything at face value. Questions and curiosity are not encouraged by most mainstream denominations. That alone makes Chandrika's book rebellious. To that she states, "I'm not questioning God; I am, asking God questions." And also writes, "More often than not, it takes a rebel to change the world around us."
With a Christian upbringing, bible degree and time served preaching, Chandrika has a lot to unpack in her journal. Some of the chapters were lighthearted and made me think, "Hmm, I never saw it that way." Other chapters were hard-hitting and required me to set the book down and really let the information settle into my brain.
Readers looking for a book with all the answers will be saddened to learn there are many more questions, and even Chandrika continues to ask questions. She writes, "An appreciation can be found for much of what Paul said but, I have been given the gift of spiritual curiosity, if you will, and I imagine it'll take the rest of my life to unwrap it."
Readers looking for a book that allows them to explore their faith or get a glimpse into another's faith will find many reasons to enjoy this book.

Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles (such as electrons or protons), either statically as an accumulation of charge or dynamically as a current. The author must have been plugged into a Heavenly Power Source that translated currents into her being, while translating her from this present world into Eternity. This author was launched from a religious Pentecostal background, and transported into a land of unfamiliarity where Christianity was and is illegal. Her Tenacity is exhibited when she not only experiences a re-birth, but introduces Seven (7 is the number of Divine Completion), students to "Relationship" with The Christ. Taking a risk to introduce the benefit of freedom in Relationship. The only power I know of on this earth to describe her journey is Electricity. The Real power I know is the Divine Power of God, who is the source of all energy! Fantastic Book, Fantastic reading!
