Princess Fuzzypants here: Moving can be traumatic for humans, imagine how a little kitty would feel when plonked in a carrier and put in a car for a very long ride. And then, when the car stops so the kitty can get some exercise, a scary noise frightens the kitty into bolting away from his humans. That is what happened to Cozmo.

His girl and her mom call for him but he is terrified and they are forced to leave without him. But they put up flyers in the hope that Cozmo will be found. He is found but not by humans. A colony of cats accept him and he makes friends with several who teach him how to survive. He also makes friends with a mouse… but we won’t let that become common knowledge.

The story has a happy ending when a rescuer named Pam who feeds the colony realizes that Cozmo is not a stray and helps reunite him with his humans. It is a charming story with a suspense and humour. It also has some adorable pictures. This would be a great bedtime book for little kids or a good book for early readers. Either way, the kitties will win them over. Five purrs and two paws up.

Cozmo is a little kitten who gets lost during his family's move. He is taken in by a stray cat colony in the woods, who are determined to help him find his way back home with the help of a brave mouse and a team of rescuers. This is a sweet little story, however I wish more had been addressed regarding the colony that helped Cozmo. I felt like the story ended abruptly, and I'm not sure if they plan to make this a series, but it seemed like it was a stand-alone during the reading.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Dynamite Entertainment for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a cute children's book. It might be a little advanced for early readers, but not sure. It is a cute story and the graphics are fun. Enjoyable read. 4 stars

Saved by a Whisker is a cute beginning chapter book about a cat that temporarily loses its family and how it found its way back. Cute animal books are always in high demand and I think my students would enjoy this one.

Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Saved By a Whisker tells the tale of a cat who runs away during a roadside stop on a trip, his subsequent friendships with other cats, a mouse, and his survival efforts. He’s eventually identified by a kind woman who feeds strays and reunited with his family. Included are ways children can get involved with animal rescue both at a shelter and by collecting resources.
