A heart-stopping psychological thriller with a truly brilliant twist. I now have the kindle version and the audiobook as I just love this book/author so much. Simply brilliant!

Fast paced, quick, easy listen. With its quick chapters I flew through it and felt like the storyline moved along nicely. Was enthralled from the start. Really interesting characters that are well written that you feel like you have a real insight into them. It’s a dark, twisted storyline which is told in 2 different timelines but it’s very clear when changing from one to the other. I liked the narrator for the most part but at times I did find it annoying with the over pronunciation. I did enjoy it and found myself looking for jobs so I could listen some more but I was a little disappointed that the ending was somewhat rushed and abrupt but still a good listen all the same.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC that due to be published on the 29th of Nov.

4.5⭐️
A psychological thriller from new author to me.
I had the 🎧audio version. The narrator is very good with distinctive voices for the main characters. Danny’s voice sounds a bit breathy, but it’s not a big part so not a problem.

The main characters are Juliette and Danny who have relocated from London to the rural Midlands after the death of their daughter Emily.
Their established neighbours are Sarah and Richard, who they immediately notice have an unusual relationship. He is much older and appears very controlling.
The main POV are Juliette and Sarah and 2 time frames covering when Sarah met Richard with their story.

The characters are interesting. Juliette is my favourite character as she turns into an amateur sleuth.
When the plot starts I thought it was following a predictable path, but then things starting changing. It gets very interesting. The ending increased my overall score.

I really enjoyed this audiobook and look forward to more from this author.

This was really addictive - the narration just added something sinister to it and it was so entertaining. I just went for it and just listened to it for the day.

Where did the story come from? It was so amazing and convoluted but believable - just what you expect from this author. I wasn't sure where the story was going with most times, thought I did but boy was I surprised, so then I had to keep on listening. Given how many books I read/listen to that is hard to do.

I was given an advance copy by Bookouture and netgalley but the review is entirely my own.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. This book was AMAZING! I found myself constantly thinking about it when i was too busy to listen. The characters were very well developed. I enjoyed the back story as well as the current story. The narrator did a wonderful job making the characters come to life. This book is full of suspense and the ending is perfect!

Started listening to the ARC kindly approved by Bookouture Audio and I couldn't stop listening to it until it ended! Mind blowing book.

Richard has given his partner everything she ever wanted - a lovely house with a large garden, security and love. While they are living a blissful life, Juliette & Richard move next door - this couple have recently lost their daughter and are still grieving. Richard's partner Sarah is worried if this couple might bring them any trouble in the carefully planned lives they are leading - but she also wants to talk to Juliette and make her believe that her life is not all it seems!
What exactly is going on in the troubled house of Richard? Juliette says she has seen a child running around in Richard's house but then when she asks Richard & Sarah they lead her to believe it was all her imagination.

**** stars for such an intriguing book by Mel Sherratt - thanks to Bookouture Audio & Netgalley for the audio ARC - I devoured it.

A couple move to a new location after the death of their doughter. They settle in a nice house and belive the neighbours are nice too. But more time they are there more strange things happen. It becomes more and more crazy, hard to understand that it can be that way. But hopefully isna fiction and I have to remind myself. Not bad at all. Thank you Netgalley and Bookoture Audio for this audio copy.

I loved this one. Very fast paced, had me biting my nails as I listened to it – I had to see how it would end. The characters were well rounded and the narrative felt believable. Gave me chills. Solid five
