This was really cute. A very low stakes, beautifully illustrated story about first love, learning to put yourself first, and choosing to listen to your instincts. Middle grade/young YA appropriate.

I am just starting to dip my toes into graphic novels and have been leaning towards this aesthetic, and I'm so glad I picked this one up! The world is magical, the characters are sweet but complicated, and the story is perfectly paced! I really loved that this graphic novel had a strong plot line that actually felt like a complete story, so many I have read are one tiny piece of a larger story or, only a romance or only action. This one had everything. I highly highly recommend! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Very cute, sweet fantasy graphic novel about a Ray, a seer coming into her powers, deciding what she wants. She has always wanted to be a Councilor, helping people with her powers, but if you're on the Council, you have to forget your life from before. When she meets a cute boy, Laurie, she's suddenly not so sure if her dream of being on the Council is what she wants anymore if it means leaving Laurie behind.

If Tea Dragon Society was aged up and written for a YA audience, that's the feel of Crumbs

I love, love, love this one! Ray and Leslie are both amazing, and the romance here is so sweet, it's definitely a treat. I never ended up reading the webtoon version, but I can see why this one is so popular, it's adorable and the art is so perfect for the subject. This is one I could see myself coming back to again and again, the characters and the setting are built up so well, and it's just so soft. A great destress read, this one is fantastic.

Very cute low-fantasy coming of age story. The romance between the two mains felt believable, and I actually really enjoyed the character arc of Laurie the most. Most of the characters were well-developed, although I would have liked to see a little more focus on the relationship between Ray and her mother, they did do a good job on the friendships and the romantic relationship. I could definitely see this being good for younger teens.

Ray's hard work to use her seer powers for good and work for the Counsel of Sorcerers is about to pay off when she is offered an internship, but she also just met Laurie. Laurie works at his aunts bakery and dreams of becoming a famous musician. These characters are complex and show great growth throughout, it's a layered story about finding your path in life and about young friendship and love.

All in all a fantastic YA fantasy romance that I would highly recommend! Wholesome and sweet with wonderful representation and beautiful illustrations. I also thoroughly enjoyed the the magic and world building.

I went in to this book having not read any of it in its original run on Webtoon, and I absolutely fell in love with it. The art is well-drawn and adorable and the characters are all so different in size, shape, color.... I liiiive for the diversity. And the story! I laughed, I cried, and the ending was just beautiful. I also really enjoy the magic system in this universe - none of it was ever boringly and explicitly spelled out, but it was pretty easy to pick up on the details.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go through it and read it on Webtoon, because there's apparently music involved in some chapters?! Sensational.

4.5 stars

I am very much loving webtoons being made into novels/collections!
This charming fantasy book was so casual with its magic system but didn't leave you confused at all, with a relationship that both blooms and is hindered by her seer power and his past emotional trauma. I would highly recommend it, and I hope more webtoons make it to graphic novel form!

This graphic novel was beautifully illustrated, and I wanted so badly to fall in love with the characters. I felt like nothing could go wrong in a book with gorgeous characters, magic, and a bakery!

I just really couldn't get into the story, and it felt like the characters weren't fleshed out enough for me. I would've liked to learn more about them in order to get more invested in their relationship.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was cute! I appreciated the reality of their relationship. I wish there were more magical elements than we got to see and a little more investigation into the magical reality of the world, but I appreciated that that wasn't the focus of the story. Would definitely recommend to older teens dealing with the reality of going to college soon or fans of Kevin Panetta's Bloom.

It was ok in a lot of places but the main characters become so wishy washy and morose that even by the time you get to the endings (because you do see multiple "endings") you kind of stop caring anymore.

This is an incredibly sweet, low-conflict magical graphic novel about love, family, and figuring out what you want in life. From the little world-building flourishes like the MC's outdated but much-loved virtual assistant to the magical bakery trying to perfect "Joy" buns that keep coming out as "Contentment," it's a beautiful place to visit and hang out. (I can see why it was such a successful Webtoon!!) And while there's a bit of conflict in the central relationship, and around job prospects and pursuing dreams, it's resolved well by the end. (And while there's a potentially toxic, somewhat unaddressed aspect of the MC's chosen profession, that is ALSO sorted by the end, which was a lovely way to end the novel/series.)

Crumbs is a warm and inventive graphic novel about finding yourself and first love. I enjoyed the time spent with Ray and Laurie. The sparkling color palette brought the story to life, and let's face it, I will always be sold on a book when a magic bakery is involved! The only thing that kept this from a 5 star for me was that I was left wanting more story development and time spent at Laurie's Aunt bakery. His Aunt's history with the Council and her magical shop where Ray and Laurie first meet is really where the story shines, and more detail on it would have filled out the plot. Overall this was super sweet and a great read for fans of witchy fiction and YA graphic novels.

I really enjoyed this cute graphic novel with a touch of magic and romance. I thought the story was unique and had just enough substance to give the reader a good story without getting them bogged down in unnecessary details. Recommended for a fun, quick read.

Wow! Such a great story, I loved how Ray worked through everything. Her determination and drive were boundless. The ending got me all verklempt, such a lovely ending. Here's hoping there is more to this story and we will see a sequel.

Highly recommend.

I can't really recommend this story. I found the art a bit unpolished in ways that'd be easy enough to fix (somewhat transparent or shaky lines, cells that appeared a bit grainy), and there wasn't anything especially original about the storyline. I don't see the relevance of the worldbuilding to the story.

I loved the romance in this graphic novel! Such a sweet story that many students will enjoy. I liked the body positivity with the main female character and want to see more of it in graphic novels.
