This book was good, it had suspense, intrigue, action, murder and mayhem! The storyline was very interesting and moved along well! But! As soon as everything was coming to a head, it ended?! I guess this is a series?! Some things were cleared up but most continue on?! I assume?! Lol like I said the book wss very good but I'm definitely not happy that it just kind of ends?! DCI Rachel King is a few hours away from starting work again after her maternity leave when she gets a call about a baby being missing. The babysitter and baby have disappeared, it's obviously a kidnapping. The baby's father is one of the top gangsters in the city and it's obvious someone is sending him a message. Then his 'business' partner's mother is kidnapped from her assisted living facility...
Rachel is suspicious of her partner, he's supposedly stopped his criminal ways and earning an honest living now. But instead of helping her with their newborn son, he keeps going off saying he's busy with work. Is he telling the truth or does she have cause to worry?
I mildly enjoyed the book, but was a bit disappointed with the way the story went. But now I'm curious about the way things have played out and can't wait for the next one in the series!
