I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. It was a well written book. I read book 1 in this series and liked it too.

I discovered Sara Ennis in 2021 with her first book "The Dollhouse". I really loved it and it was even in my top 3 books of 2021. Needless to say I was more than excited to read the second installment of the series.

And it totally delivered !! We follow Angel in a very different setting. She's still recovering from the events of The Dollhouse, and the almost-adult girl is willing to put herself in harm's way in order to save people who suffer like she suffered.
The new character CB is my favorite. I really hope we'll see more of her in the next book.

I must say I still have a slight preference for Book 1, because, well, Alfred. But this second book is a must read and already a strong candidate for my top books of the year

I am just HOOKED on this series. The first book, The Dollhouse, was insanely dark and twisted. The Hunted definitely delivered more of the same.

The Hunted was very action packed and suspenseful. The plot was, once again, very dark and twisted. I found myself biting my nails (again!) throughout certain chapters. There was so much happening in this book that it left me sweating!

It's hard to review this book without spoiling anything from the first book, but I'll say that Angel's character development was one of my favorite aspects. It's impossible to not root for her, honestly.

I just cannot get over how Sara Ennis comes up with these ideas for a plot. They're so disturbing to think about, yet I felt so compelled to speed through these well written stories! I cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Sara Ennis for providing me with a copy of The Hunted in exchange for my honest review!

Sara Ennis is my fav author. This novel was fast paced and full of action from the first chapter. A sequel to the Dollhouse, which if you haven’t read it yet, you must! But also great as a stand alone. Gruesome situations run alongside characters evoking hope and dare I say vengeance. Loved everything about it. Can’t wait for the next instalment!

Thank you NetGalley for this arc

Here we are again with another awesome dark horror unputdownable book by Sara Ennis.
After reading The Dollhouse I was intrigued to know more about Angel and how she turned out but this books is next level .
This is the story of Angel and how she is living her own on roads when one day she met an injured girl in a public bathroom, and rest is just a fast track roller coaster you want to enjoy as soon as possible
I am hoping for a movie series of this beautifully written thriller

This book didn't really hit right for me. It wasn't a bad book, by any means, but I didn't connect with it the way I had hoped I would in the beginning.

Narration: The lack of drag here is one of the two pros of this story. The narration does not drag. Or else it wouldn't even take me a minute to yeet this book off my laptop like Hera yeeted Hephaestus off Mount Olympus. I'm not joking, I've yeeted books into the DNF zone like this. Buuut, good for this book, the narration is easy flowing, which does not put strain on the brain [no rhyming jokes here please] and I liked it.

CONS:
I fear this will turn into an essay.

1. Characters: Flat, shallow, one dimensional, stereotypical. They're simply stark black and white with not even a pop of colour or a single shade of grey. most of the time while I was reading this book I felt like, thank goodness they don't exist in real life or I would have gone bananas.

2. THE MERE IDEA

3. Narration: While the narration style was simple and easy flowing, you could not help but think- "wait, this is robotic. Wait, that's not how it happens". The narration feels so robotic sometimes I feel like these characters are not human, they're AI's. And that kinda sucks when you're actually trying to enjoy the book.

4. Plot and pacing: What the f. Like what the actual f. Like seriously, what in the FRACKERS happened in this book. At some point I was wondering, why am I reading this book? Like seriously, that shit just changed plot points like that and I am remotely confused because NONE of those plot points makes sense. And they do not make sense simply because there's no resolution to them

It’s very hard to live up to the prequel when the second part comes but the author made sure to not disappoint the fans. Such a creepy thriller I loved the sequel than the prequel.

This is the second book in the Duality series. Even though the author did a great job recapping Angel's backstory, I recommend reading the first book before reading this one.

I could hardly get anything done! The story was fantastic. I just needed to read the next chapter. The ending was pretty intense and I could not put the book down. I just finished the book and I'm already wishing I had the next installment. This is an intense, fast-paced psychological thriller. It kept the suspense at a high level throughout.

Angel is a brilliant character. She is broken but trying to survive on her own terms. I liked her character for her strength and her unwillingness to remain a victim of her circumstances.

I very highly recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sara Ennis for a copy of "The Hunted: Sins of the Father" in exchange of an honest review.

Two bloody feet are visible under the bathroom stall door. Should she help, or should she walk away?

Two years after her traumatic experience in the Dollhouse, Angel comes across Emily, a bloody and broken woman in a truck stop bathroom. Emily begs her not to call the police, as the man she just escaped from is a sheriff. With her best friend still held captive at the sheriff’s ranch of unimaginable horrors, Emily can’t just walk away from what happened to her and move on. She has to save Harper, and Angel is forced to make an impossible choice. Will she turn her back on Emily? Or will she face an even more dangerous psychopath?
I binged this book in nearly one sitting. I was so excited to catch up with Angel, especially since I was reading this book immediately after reading The Dollhouse! I didn’t feel Angel had anything to prove to anyone, but I loved seeing the badass side of her come out in this sequel. She really grew into a sharp and brave (though she may not have felt that way) young woman. I also loved that this novel was written in first person. I loved the new characters that were introduced in this novel and can’t wait to read the third installment of this series! I recommend this novel to anyone who loves a twisted survival thriller.

This book can be triggering to survivors of sexual violence and/or torture.

I thought The Dollhouse by Sara Ennis and the first book in this series was dark and twisted... well! There is certainly more where that came from and more!!

The Hunted: Sins of the Father was absolutely unputdownable! I literally read it late into the night and woke up and continued just about before I opened my eyes right until the very end!

An intense, heart pounding read that takes Angel, the main protagonist and the reader on an extremely wild and crazy ride after a stop at a truck stop restroom amps things up very quickly!

Definitely not a read for the faint-hearted! The graphic scenes were described with detail and I literally wanted to cover my eyes as I was reading! Some of the characters while pyschopathic were very intriguing! I'm keen to know more about Vero's background!

A must read for thriller lovers! 😍
It's out now!

Thank you @Netgalley and @saraennis for the #gifted eARC in return for my honest review.

I read the first book and thought it was twisted and sick. But still i had to read the second book, because i needed to know what happened to all the characters. This book is also twisted and sick, bit it lavked something the first book. I think the first book it was a little bit more about the psychological part. Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion

I have to admit that I did not know that The Hunted, Sins of the Father is the follow up to The Dollhouse. But it can be perfectly enjoyed as a stan-alone as well. Though I really want to read the first part!
Angel Evanston who is free now after having been locked away. But somehow she can not settle down and decides to keep on the move. On her journey she meets CB a truckdriver and the two women travel toghether. When Angel discovers somebody in need for help she takes care for Emily. Besides there are still things from her past that have to be solved.
I don't want to give away too much really since Angel is such a strong persons. All the characters in this story are so well developed and I could connect to all of the women.
Thanks #NetGalley #Sara Ennis for an ARC of this book

The Hunted , book two in the Duality series was even better than The Dollhouse, book one in the series. I found this one to be much more interesting and face paced. The book was relatively dark at times but Sara Ennis did not tarnish the tale with graphic details that would possibly turn a reader off , yet that being said it is still possible that it may trigger some sensitive readers. I'm happy that I decided to continue the series when l felt the first book was lacking in areas, as this one kept me completely interested throughout. Even more so my interest is highly peaked to learn more about CB 's dilemma in the next book No Mercy due out in late 2022

The second installment in the series, this book was a tiny bit less than wonderful than the first.
The first installment was a thrilling read and this one, while good enough, was not as gripping as the first. However, it was gorier and really fast-paced. Can not wait for book three!

I had trouble getting into the book and an even harder time getting through it.It was genuinely boring to me and I had difficulty caring about the characters this time around. I loved the first book and was incredibly disappointed this time around.

Excellent addition to this series - brutal, horrifying, honest and kickass.
Angel enters a restroom - only to find a severely harmed woman.
For the last few years, Angel has traveled with CB, a truck driver with her own tragic past. Though Angel will never heal, she has gotten by with a routine and friend who accepts her.
Finding Emily - Angel can't walk away.
Emily escaped horrific abuse at the hands of Vero and Jonny - a local Sheriff. Emily managed to escape - but her friend, Harper, is still trapped. And Emily won't leave her there.
Loved it.
