I don’t really like video games or character driven stories and yet I enjoyed reading this very much. The chapters were so perfectly and authentically flawed - it was hard to be mad at them because they felt so human. An unexpected joy was the insanely expansive vocabulary. I have never read a book in adulthood where I had to look up so many words. I feel like I’ve learned so much in that way while also getting to experience someone else’s life. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC that I am multiple years late reading.

Loved the first half. The second half dragged a bit and left me confused in some parts. Overall, I'm glad to have read it, but might not recommend to readers who like their plots to move along.

this book was nostalgic and heart wrenching all at once and is a beautiful story about friendship and love and i can’t stop thinking about it

This book is not perfect (Sadie: blech) but it grabbed my heart and held on fast and truly sometimes that is all you need.

As a kind of gamer and married to a super gamer this book was on the top of my must read list.
I was amazed at the depth of the characters, story, and the feelings that I felt throughout this whole read. I knew nothing going in and walked away with an amazing adventure. I enjoyed the characters of Sam and Sadie and their growth throughout with the situations they encountered. My favorites though were Sam's grandparents and they made my day.

This book was absolutely wonderful and I enjoyed every second of it!! There aren’t enough stars to give this book as 5 just isn’t enough to express how great it is. This book is SO unique and I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like it which is rare these days. The story is character driven and the character development is some of the best I’ve read. I would highly recommend it!!

This book iswas essentially a book about two good friends making a video game together, but it ends up being so much more than that.
Sam and Sadie met when they are kids and quickly bonded over their love of video games. Their friendship develops and spans over 30 years, this book follows their long friendship- including falling in love, falling out, a love triangle, successes, and failures and a large plot point of the book: video games.

I very like this book. I dont have much word to explain how I felt after reading it. But I do feel it was long to read. I felt like the story start again and again between the main character. But it's a good book.
I recommend this book a lot at work.

I really enjoyed this story and think it would make a phenomenal movie or mini series. I really connected with the characters and it reminded me of my own days in college and discovering my place in the world.

Oh this book! What more can be said that hasn't already been said. It will break you and put you back together again a million different times and ways. Excellent story telling and shows how not all love stories need be romantic. An absolute treasure of a book.

Vivid writing, well-developed characters, and a brilliant story of relationships and innovations and growth that spans decades. This is the latest book that has become a go-to recommendation for everyone — the shifting perspectives help us delve deeper into motivations and understand the depths of the main characters' connections with each other. The pacing seems very intentional and works well to evoke emotion and investment. A new favorite!

I could not finish this book unfortunately. The author and their stance on Israel and Palestine definitely did have an impact and the repeated mentions of Israel in the book itself did not help. The rating reflects the def status of the book

Wow! This book was fantastic! I kept hearing about it but putting it off, and I am so glad I read it! I have been telling everything that this needs to be their next book

I know I'm late to this party, but wow. All the hype is deserved.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is Zevin's ode to friendship and life and, of course, games. I spent a lot of time reading this book. I read it slowly, carefully and enjoyed the pace and plot and how it gently unfolded. There is so much emotion, so much life, packed into this book. And a bit of nostalgia too. I played video games when I was younger and I love how we see the hard work it takes to creating video games.
I love Sam and Sadie. Their friendship is so complex. It ebbs and flows and changes and it's heartbreaking when they pull apart and heartwarming when they join together. It reminds me of great creative partners. I love everything about them, their devotion and their fights and how they change as the story moves forward. It's really the crown of the story, how Sam and Sadie navigate their company, their lives and each other. Amazing wonderful highs and incredible heartbreaking lows as the years pass and this relationship always felt authentic to me.
The pacing is slow, and at first, I was anxious for more to happen. But as I got further in, I really appreciated the pace and how events unfolded, especially as the story moves faster and faster towards the end. It took me longer to read this book, I did put it down a few times. But I kept coming back to it. I had to know what happened to Sam and Sadie. I admit I also lived in Boston and also Los Angeles so it was fun walking the streets with them again from my memory.
There's so much to talk about after reading the book but I don't want to give anything away. But it lives up to all the hype.

I never thought that a book about video games would capture my attention like this and make me fall in love with the characters. This book was beautifully written and made me feel a full range of emotions while I read it.

A gorgeous and heartfelt story. Zevin's writing was very realistic and relatable for me as a person in tech and in Boston academia. It was a true treat to become part of this world for the duration of the book. The characters were well crafted. The videogames were described in vivid detail, making me feel like it's something I have played myself. I enjoyed the chapter that was told within one of the video games itself - it was a creative risk that paid off. This book will definitely stay with me for a while and I will be widely recommending it.

I really tried to like this book, but I could not bring myself to enjoy it.
When I read the summary, I was really excited to read it. However, once I began, I couldn’t connect to the characters or the storyline at all. None of the characters were likeable. They all had their flaws, which was not necessarily a problem for me. However, I didn’t enjoy the storyline either. It seemed to drag on forever and it held very little interest to me.
This book is beloved by many, but it’s just not the book for me. Thank you to the author and the publisher for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

spanning 30 years, this beloved novel follows sadie & sam, childhood friend who reconnect at MIT & begin designing video games together. the fact that this book got me caring about video games is truly an impressive feat! the ups & downs of sadie & sam's relationship over the years was captivating, and i loved the 90s nostalgia that came with this book.

Oh, this book was SO GOOD! I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, despite all the hype surrounding it.
It’s an incredibly sad story, at least, that’s how I interpreted it, but there is some hope that still peeks out at the end. It’s a human story, so you won’t get a storybook ending, but I found myself appreciating it all the same.
There’s a lot of tragedy in the pages, but also a lot of love. What I loved most about the book, aside from the constant pull of Sam and Sadie’s relationship, was Gabrielle Zevin’s writing. She really captures the human experience with some expert observations that made the story feel all the more personal to me.

I feel like the odd one out when I say that I disliked this book. I could not stand the characters in any sort of capacity. They really got on my nerves. They constantly made the worst decisions they could have. Not even going to get started on how this is sold as a celebration of friendship but the novel explores literally only toxic relationships. Sam and Sadie are not friends. More like in a Stockholm syndrome type of relationship.
I did really enjoy the beautiful writing, though.
