This would be a great devotional for teens. I have added it to my nieces book collection. This book can help teens get closer to God in a way that is not overwhelming.

Series: As of now, no. Not connected to any other book.

Spiritual Content- Divided into nine section (with ten devotionals each), every devotional has a portion of Scripture to read, a verse to memorize, a discussion, a prayer, & then a couple questions to reflect on or things to think about; At the end of each section, there is a fun activity to do and journaling prompts; ‘H’s are not capitalized when referring to God; All about God, Jesus, your walk with Him, & His Word; Many mentions of Heaven, Christians, & faiths; Many mentions of those & events in the Bible; Mentions of blessings & being Blessed; Mentions of churches; Mentions of worship songs (& suggestions); Mentions of the devil & sin; A few mentions of missionaries & mission trips;
*Note: Mentions of idols & idol worship (in ancient Corinth and today’s society).

Negative Content- Minor cussing including: a ‘dumb’; A couple mentions of thinking about if you’re comfortable reading or listening to content that contains bad language & how do you define bad language—coarse words, swear words, or taking the name of the Lord in vain; Mentions of anxiety & a panic attack; Mentions of doing things because “everybody else does them” (such as watching a show with mature content, cheating on your homework, or making fun of a classmate); A mention of the “bad side” of Las Vegas; A mention of a possible plane crash; A (teasing) mention of jealousy; A mention of gossip (in the context of society has branded it “cool” but we should stay away from it);
*Note: Mentions of Disneyland & a couple of the characters.

Sexual Content- A mention of thinking about when you’re reading or watching a love story, where do you draw the line & are you keeping your mind pure.

Older High School Teens- Five Stars
My personal Rating- Four Stars (and a half)

I loved that this teen girl—though it could be for older girls as well!—devotional is based on the topic of the journey of your walk with the Lord. Not boys, not friendship drama, not school related things, but the most important thing. Your faith in God and being connected to Him. There’s plenty of other devotionals that focus on those other topics—and I’ve reviewed quite a few of them—so this one was incredibly refreshing. I wish I would have had this devotional when I was in high school, but there were a lot of good parts that stood out to me, even though I’m in my 20s. A lot of my very favorite Scriptures were also used in this devotional, which I loved seeing! This is easily one of my favorite devotionals now and one I’m sure I’ll be recommending often.

"Journey of a Lifetime" by Taylor Bennett is a great book. It's a good devotional for those new in their relationship with Jesus or those who have been serving God all their life. This is a 90 day devotional and each day begins with a few verses your should read and then goes on to a small writing of how that verse pertains to our journey with God. This book explains that our adventure with God is the most important journey we will ever take but thankfully God had given us a map in the for of His Word. The Bible is the perfect roadmap for us and at the end of our journey we will end up at our destination which is a close relationship with God and literally in the arms of our Father. I highly recommend this book.

Also, I usually don't mention the cover's of books in my review but I think the cover of this book is very pretty.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Interesting and well written, but very much another repetition of all the messages that Christian kids grow up hearing in Christian media since childhood. It's a book that a Christian teen can read and assume they understand it all and apply it to themselves however they wish, which also means that it's pretty vague and not practical in any specific way. It's cute, it's comfy, but doesn't provide any new insights or concrete direction for how to embark on this "journey of a lifetime" as it is advertised to do.

I’ve been following Taylor Bennett on Instagram for a few years now and she is such a kind soul who always inspires me with her posts! I absolutely love her YA book series so when I found out she was releasing a devotional for teens, I couldn’t wait to read it!
This devotional is absolutely perfect for tween and teen girls. Not only is the cover beautiful, but the inside is too! ❤️
I love how she starts every devotional with Bible verses to read that sets the tone for the devotional. I also love how at the end of each devotional, she prompts you to put your faith in action by applying it to your life in some way whether that’s by a journal prompt, writing Bibles verses on note cards to remember, or trying a challenge. The devotionals are relatable and always have a good message.
She keeps the devotional short but beautifully put. Every day gives you something to think about. I think it would be a great start to any teen girl’s morning along with Bible reading! I loved it!
