Raven:reawakening by Mitchell Hogan.
A woman transformed by the blood of demons.
Deadly beyond belief.
I really enjoyed this book. Couldn't put it down. Loved the story and characters. I loved Saskia and Raven. Lots of action. I loved the cover. 5*.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crucible Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Raven: Reawakening is about a retired assassin being forced back into a life she left behind when a group of mercenaries are sent to kill her and her old team. Based in a world full of sorcery, demons and of course corruption, Hogan sets up a fast-paced story that does not slow down the entire way through. It’s been a while since I’ve read a fantasy book so it took me a bit to get used to how the world was set up but after that, it was an interesting read.

Raven was a strong character and I liked her. What I didn’t like was how little all the other characters were developed. I didn’t care for anyone but her, which in its own way was a good thing because she ended up being the only one that matters. Some characters are also introduced and you think they will have a bigger part in her story but then you never see them again.

My thanks to Crucible Press, Mitchell Hogan and Netgalley.
If I'm being honest, I really liked this first book. I've just lately discovered that Hogan usually has a first great book. Afterwards? Well, that's up in the air. But, he's not awful, he's just not quite my groove.
I read this book hoping for more! I am a fan of Saskia, but I'm not a fan of Hogan and his old, worn out "tides."
I think Mr.Hogan is a good writer, who has managed to stick himself into a boring, tiresome and I just don't give a damn..type of world.
Move on!
