A mix of romance and quaint local color. The characters are vibrant and captivating.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. An engaging plot, delightful characters and the usual excellent narration by Caitlin Crews.

We finally find out why Sheriff Zack Kittredge is so intense, why he left the ranch on his eighteenth birthday. Misconstruing something he saw and his equally stubborn father's refusal to explain himself have left them estranged for years. Zack a real stick in the mud as far as his family is concerned, wound too tight and too controlling, which is great for a sheriff, but the man has serious issues. And while his siblings have all found their other half, Zack is not interested, thinking a woman for him would be as elusive as a unicorn, until nurse, Janie Atwood, trips and spills her coffee on him. He finds her bothersome and now she is living next door to him. Janie was raised by her grandparents, so it makes sense that she became a traveling nurse specializing in elderly people. But her current charge, Damaris Gardiner, is a live wire. But Janie has an ulterior motive for being in Cold River. With her will, her grandmother had left her a letter, telling her about her father and his people in Cold River Colorado. Janie is a delightful character, excited with the idea of Zack thinking her dangerous, when she has always been "friend-zoned" by men. She has things to teach him and he her.

I read an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I enjoyed the last Kittredge book! Zack was such an interesting character and Janie was so special. She came to town to learn more about herself and Zack was insistent that she was up to no good. He was also instantly attracted to her no matter his "better judgment". The story was quick-moving and really sucked you in. It was a sweet storyline as well that really rounded out the Kittredge family. I'm hoping that we get the ladies of the bookstore next.

Summer Nights with a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews was an excellent story. The story line, characters, flow, and plot were spot on! I enjoyed this story so much that I read it in one sitting. The main characters were well developed, and I enjoyed all the outlying characters. This is a story about love, misunderstandings and family. An excellent job Caitlin Crews!

It’s always a bittersweet moment when a series I’ve enjoyed comes to a close – but, we do get long-awaited answers in Summer Nights with a Cowboy and a sizzling, emotional send-off to the Kittredge Ranch series. (and yes, I’m hoping to return to this world one day with another connecting series… hint, hint, wishful dreaming)

To say Zack is a bit… uptight would be like describing an elephant as large. It’s obvious but you have no idea of the reality until face-to-face with the real deal. When traveling nurse, Janie, true to her clumsy self, trips and spills coffee all over the lawman she never would have dreamed that would be the opening gambit in finding the love of her life… if Zack would just loosen up and stop believing she’s the newest bad guy in town! It’s fair that he thinks she has something to hide, for she is combining her love of caring for her patients with a desire to learn more about her own history with this town. But this was the first time someone ever thought she was more than just forgettable vanilla – that maybe she could be “up to something” so she runs with it, all the while swearing to herself that she’d set him straight… soon.

Summer Nights with a Cowboy is a fun, emotional, and even sexy adventure as two unlikely people find ways to bring out different aspects of their personalities to one very special person, all the while falling in love when dealing with the unique small-town antics they’ll encounter on a daily basis. I had fun with Janie and Zack as questions were answered, loose ends tied up, and a couple who deserve happiness found their way to each other with a love to last a lifetime. We’ll run into familiar faces, watch a man lose some of that closed-off-ness that has been his cover for so long now, and a woman discovers that she isn’t always in the friend zone when the right man comes along.

I don’t think you’d be lost if you picked up Zack and Janie’s story at this point, but you would be missing lots of background information and some really good romances from the first books in this series. But it could be read as a standalone, I’d just recommend the entire series for the full impact of this world.

If you love a good totally opposites attract, wrapping up all the loose ends and answering questions that have been left hanging, and discovering a really good love story then Summer Nights with a Cowboy would be perfect for you. I’ve had fun in this world and will miss it – but also looking forward to what the author brings us next.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Awww.

This a grumpy/sunshine and they make each other better book.

Janie gets under this suspicious loner sheriff's skin and good things happen. These two are a mess but it's an enjoyable ride.

What a fun and interesting book. It had me entertained from the first page until the last. I loved the storyline all the characters. Zack and Janie are great separately, but when Zach finally realizes he and Janie are perfect together - it's magic!
Although this is the third book in the series, it reads well as a stand-alone.

Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Don't recall reading Caitlin Crews before, and seems that I am late to reading her Kittredge series, and ended up reading the last in this series, and I have to say am pleasantly surprised that I liked the story as well as the author, Caitlin Crews.

Spending "Summer Nights With A Cowboy", Zack Kittredge, who also happens to be the Sheriff of Cold River, was definitely not in the traveling nurse Janie Atwood's plan. But then fate always throws in a lasso of a twist, and from trying to discover her roots, Janie ends up falling in love with Zack. Janie was never a part of his plan, but Zack will definitely protect his town and his spunky neighbor Damaris, from any harm. All it takes is some charm lessons, friendly conversations, and honesty for Janie and Zac to give their spark of attraction a chance to fire a future with each other.

I liked that Caitlin Crews gave more page time to Janie a chance to discover her past and come to terms with it, at the same time resolving family dynamics among the Kittredges. A heartwarming read.

When I picked up this book, I didn't realize it was book #3 in a series. However, it reads well as a standalone, and nothing was lost.
Janie Atwood is a nurse and a good one. She lost her mother in childbirth and has lived her entire life with her grandparents. It was a good life and she was happy. It wasn't until after the grandparents' deaths, that she receives a letter from her grandmother with some shocking revelations.
When a job opening comes up to care for Damaris Gardiner in Cold River, Colorado, she jumps at the chance to find the answers to all the questions the letter raised, while making a living doing what she loves, caring for the elderly.
History is written by the people with the most to hide. Cold River is like any small town with a group of founding families and a hierarchy or pecking order. The author did a fabulous job of portraying the small-town image with lots of firmly rooted imagery.

Zack Kittredge is the sheriff of the small town and he prides himself in keeping order. He's well-known for his stern grumpiness and devastatingly good looks. Everything in Zack's world is black or white, right or wrong. There is no in-between and no flexibility with anything outside those rigid guidelines.
Janie's introduction to Zack is to trip over her own two feet and send a spray of snowy mocha java all down the front of his pristine lawman shirt. She's always been clumsy. She's always been the good-natured friend or big sister in relationships with the opposite sex. That is until Zack.

I loved all of the complex family dynamics displayed in this story. Not just Janie's estranged family, but Zack's and Damaris Gardiner's, the Halls, the Everetts, and everyone in between. Each family has issues and baggage. And just like in real life, they skirt around the issues, ignoring the elephants in the room and pretending everything is the way it should be.

It takes Janie's honesty and bravery to set in motion a chain of events that will change everyone's lives forever.

I loved this excerpt: Families were a collection of sweetness piled on top of sorrow, stories told and corrected and retold and misheard by every member, all interlaced together over the years.
After all, they are just people.

The story unfolds in entertaining and delicious layers. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone who loves complex romance stories set in small towns.

I have been provided with a review copy of Summer Nights with a Cowboy from NetGalley for an impartial review. This is the third book in the Kittredge Ranch series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. Oh my gosh this story was just epic. I just couldn’t put this story down and I was just captivated by everything that was taking place. The author truly outdid herself with this story. This story just had my emotions all over the place and I am so sad to see this book end. I just can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

If you fell in love with the blurb (especially the final part), know that the whole book has the same magic.
A newcomer to the town of Cold River, the traveling nurse, makes Sheriff Zack suspicious. Was all that bright way of hers a sham to hide something dangerous for the townspeople?
Janie, a soul traveler, ends up fitting into Cold River in more ways than she'd like, especially because of the suspicious Sheriff.
A delicious romance.

Not as good as other books written by this author. I found Jainie A little hard to take. Just seemed that the story was dragged out.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary digital copy of Summer Nights with a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews. I voluntarily agreed to read and review this book. My opinions are my own, and nothing has influenced my rating.

Summer Nights with s Cowboy is another great addition to the Kittredge Ranch series. The pacing pulled me in from the start and kept me entertained until the end. There are several wonderful secondary characters that added to my enjoyment.

Janie Atwood is the heroine, and I found much to admire about her. She’s in Cold River to solve a mystery involving her family, and I loved her determination to not give up. Her care of Damaris touched my heart.

Zack Kittredge is the hero and he’s the last single Kittredge in the family. His relationship with his family is fraught with tension. It’s made him rigid when dealing with others as he does his job as sheriff of Cold River. I enjoyed his character a great deal and could feel his pain when he’s with his parents, especially his father.

The romance between Zack and Janie is sweet and grows from mutual respect they have in each other. This is a couple that are meant to be with each other, but their path is not easy. I was so pleased they managed to find their way to one another.

Ig you enjoy cowboy romances with a great cast of characters beyond the hero and heroine, then you will love Summer Nights with a Cowboy as much as I did. Out of the three books in this series, this is my favorite. Happy reading!

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Jamie Atwood is a traveling home care nurse, specializing in elderly care. She was raised by her grandparents and when their health turned for the worse, she came home to care for them. They left her a letter upon their death pointing her to Cold River in search of family.

Sheriff Zack Kittredge left the ranch at eighteen, disillusioned and determined to not be like his father. He created rules for himself, to be the exact opposite of his father. Priding himself on his rigid control, and refusing to step outside the lines he'd drawn. His family refers to him as Saint Zack, claiming he acts the martyr.

Janie came to Cold River to find connections but after tripping and pouring her coffee all over the grumpy sheriff she wants to die of mortification. She may be clumsy and had spent her life in the friend zone, but the sheriff makes her wish to be an outlaw to keep his attention.

The pretty red-head who'd spilled her drink all over him must be up to no good. She makes him feel uncomfortable and he's determined to find out what she's really doing in Cold River.

Janie keeps forcing the sheriff to step out of his comfort zone, with her charm and sweet nature. It doesn't matter how many times he tries to make her into a villain, he can't contain her.

Their story starts bumpy, Zack is cold and hard to warm up to, even understanding he's been trying to not deal with his childhood trauma and realities of his family, But Janie blossoms from the cocoon she's been hiding in, with her companion opening her eyes to a few truths.

There are a lot of great characters in this sweet, charming and at times funny story but the connection between Zack and Janie sometimes hits but sometimes misses.

Grumpy small town sheriff meets new in town sunshine!

Zack takes his role as sheriff very seriously, along with pretty much everything else including how irritated he is by Janie. Janie is looking for answers about her past and maybe her future too, but she wasn’t expecting Zack to be the answer.

I really enjoy how Caitlyn Crews combines small town charm with humor and just the right amount of steamy! She also does a great job of weaving family struggles and drama in so that the characters are able to grow but without it being too heavy or oppressive.

I love the Kittredge family and I’m glad we finally found out what the deal was with their parents! Now we need the Mortimer sisters to get their HEAs!

I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

Summer Nights with a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews
3rd and final book in the Kittredge Ranch series. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Nurse Janie is in Cold River to take care of a patient that wants live in companionship. Sheriff Zack Kittredge is sure she has ulterior motives and he’s watching her closely. She bothers him.

Tender and sweet. Poetic writing in the sex scenes and beyond. Enchanting turn of a phrase. A story full of warmth, family and facing the emotional hurdles.

“You do what you have to for the woman you love, came that voice within him. Even if it’s charm school.”

“People are complicated.”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Zack has his reasons for not staying and working on the ranch with his family but instead pursing a career in law enforcement. He has suspicions when it comes to the nurse that Damaris, his senior neighbor, hired and her nervous actions every time they have an interaction aren’t helping matters.

Janie has come to Cold River to help her uncover the secrets of her past and she enjoys working for Daramis. She is familiar with being overlooked when it comes to men so attracting the attention of the sexy Sheriff leaves her unsettled.

This is a story about family as Janie is searching for hers while Zack’s relationship with his is complicated and finding love where you least expect it. The situations that Janie finds herself in are humorous, the romance is endearing and the emotions heartfelt as Janie and Zack find their way to each other.

Sweet, fun romance! I enjoy the grumpy hero and the sunshine heroine scenario; I like how the hero’s soft heart starts showing itself as he falls for the heroine. Zack is the sheriff in Cold River, so he’s very suspicious of new people in his town, which causes him to be a bit gruff with new to town Janie. I found their banter cute! Janie is a touch too quirky, but she’s likable. Some good spice too! There’s also a bit of mystery with some aspects in Janie’s life; she’s unsure who her biological father is. Entertaining!
