Summer Nights with a Cowboy is a wonderful story with great characters. Zack and Jane were a case of opposites attract. Zack was a grumpy sheriff who didn't trust easily and Jane was just what he needed to drop his guard and trust in someone else.

3 Stars
As a traveling nurse, Janie Atwood decides to do some probing into her concerns and secrets from her family. If things work out, she also may find a new home for herself, too. By taking care of the neighbor of the town's sheriff, it opens her up to the man thinking there may be something off.

These two start doing the opposite dance, each thinking there is something the other is hiding.
In the end, they figure out they are a fit.

Janie may be new to Cold River but she soon fits in. She has some secrets too - ones that she's not keen on the Sheriff getting hold of. But with that red hair she's not exactly Ms Invisible!

Poor Janie, she is so used to being relegated to younger sister/best friend status that she can't help having a case of motormouthitis whenever she is around Zack - he just gets her all worked up. She has a few calamities around him - again not helping with flying under the radar.

Smexy tension, flirty repartee, and chemistry that is off the charts - Zack and Janie will capture your heart and imagination. I loved learning more about Janie's ancestors and you can't help but love her and her huge heart.

Absolute gem!

All the feels – and cowboys!

I’m a pushover for cowboy romance, it’s true. Can’t get enough of swagger-filled jeans and sexy drawls. While the drawl is optional, the (usually) old-fashioned manners and a love for land and family are a must. Zack was a man with a badge who seemed a step apart from his family so given Janie’s situation, they had more in common than you might think…

I loved so much about how their relationship evolved. Even before their less than smooth first meet up, questions percolated under the surface. He was suspicious and Janie was anything but covert as she looked for answers. Family was the issue, turns out for both of them, and finding the truth was going to be the trigger for their romance….

And what a romance it was. These characters just clicked for me as they did the same for each other. Arguments galore and lots of emotion in these pages yet none of it over the top or crazy high or low. Instead, it was a measured walk with lots of entertaining banter and a slow build up to something lasting… Sigh…

Cowboys are my jam and if they are yours you will enjoy this story as much as I did. This stand-alone was third in a series so I have more to catch up on – and hopefully more to come!

Janie Atwood is a traveling nurse who has come to find out some family secrets and find a new home in Cold River. She's hired as a caretaker for the elderly neighbor of Sheriff Zack Kittredge. Zack thinks she is a little too good to be true and proceeds to do some investigating of his own. Janie tries to prove Zack wrong, but he takes her out of her comfort zone.

Zack discovers her other reason for being in Cold River. He understands family. The more he gets to know her the more he wants to be with her, much to his surprise. She helps him reconnect with his family and put his past behind him for good.

GREAT BOOK. Zack is scared from what he saw growing up. Janie is a nurse that has moved to town to help Zack’s neighbor. Jane helps Zack see what he was missing. She helps him break down all his walls. And she finds the family and love she has always wanted.

I did enjoy this story with Jamie the traveling nurse who has a small secret for being in town. She is caring for and older women and Zack, the sheriff doesn't trust she is only there for that reason. He thinks she is up to no good. Janie was really great at understanding people and their feelings and she knows Zack is holding on to hurt and he will never get past it if he doesn't face it. But Zack is button up tight until he decides to have a little fun with Jamie.
I really was happy to see some answers were revealed about certain things and although this is part of a series, you could read as a standalone. You will be spoiled some about previous characters thought

Summer Nights with a Cowboy was another great book about one of the three Kittredge brothers from the Kittredge Ranch series. The wait to see how Zack Kittredge, town sheriff and loner, finds his soulmate and love was worth waiting for the feisty nurse Janie Atwood to come to town. Though neither of them are looking for love, they are drawn together as they find their way to solving family drama and secrets that have steered their path in life for years. As the final book in the series, we find once again characters that tug at the heartstrings and take the reader with them on their journey to happiness. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this advance reader copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. #SummerNightsWithACowboy #NetGalley.

What a great read! I can't begin to describe what's all packed in this journey, but I sure did enjoy reading it from start to finish. Sheriff Zack Kittredge meets Janie Atwood in typical Janie style, and he just doesn't trust her. There's some very good suspense in here and the outcome is awesomeness. Their banter covers a multitude of feelings, all very entertaining.
The cast of characters, along with the mains, just add to the goodness, and some old "cold cases" get brought to light, answering several questions from the past, so very enlightning.
A stand alone read with a happy ending. Part of a series I very much liked reading in order, but not necessary, just advised, to get a feel for this town and it's founding families. This whole series is great.
I received an ARC through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.

Caitlin Crews is a new-to-me author, but I’ll be looking to devour more from her after reading this book. While this is a part of a series, I can honestly tell you it’s a true standalone title. I’ve not yet read any other books in the series and had no issues following the plot, nor did I have any problems understanding the secondary characters and how they related to our hero. I enjoyed the awkwardness of Janie, which led to some downright funny moments. But it took a while to warm up to Zack. Ultimately, he’s been so hurt and set in his own beliefs and views of his little world and family that it’s hard to see what’s true about any of it. This story was an excellent illustration of how pain in our childhood shapes our worldview. Some overcome it easily, yet some of us prefer to live in a state of denial, as our esteemed Sheriff felt comfortable existing in.

Janie and Zack’s story was awkward at times, fun at times, steamy at times, and incredibly emotional on so many levels. While the author’s writing style was a bit more flowery and poetic than I care for, I was still drawn into and invested in seeing their journey to a HEA come to fruition.

Sheriff Zack is uptight, moody and in need of some fun. Jane his neighbors live in nurse may fit the bill. This book is a sweet fast paced love story and as the third book in the series won’t disappoint. The characters are sweet and perfect for each other, the chemistry is intriguing and oh so romantic.

Janie Atwood is a traveling nurse and is now in Cold River taking care of Zack Kittredge’s elderly neighbor. She has come to town with another propose which is to find relatives which were known as outlaws from a four-page letter that was left with the will of her grandparents. Janie’s grandparents raised her and as her mother died when she was born, never knew who her father was. As she works to find answers, Sheriff Kittredge keeps an eye on her knowing there is something she is hiding. This story has humor as you will find she is klutzy. She also says what she thinks which Zack finds endearing. She also helps his find things he though happened weren’t as they seemed.

Summer Nights With a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews is a Kittredge Ranch novel and good, as always. Zack Kittredge is the sheriff and as such he lives in his own house in town. He is known to his siblings as Saint Zack. He holds himself to the highest standard and as such has an iron will and the control of a saint, hence the name. He sees the redhead who is the live-in nurse for his only neighbor Damaris Gardner. He doesn't even know her name but he can tell she's going to be bothersome. Janie Atwood is her name and she is introduced to the sheriff when she trips and spills a coffee all over his front. It takes a while but her is finally forced to admit his attraction for her, something he has never had to do before, especially in town, in front of people who know him. It turns out Janie is in town, not only to care for Damaris, but to find her family. When her grandparents had died they had left her a letter explaining all they knew of her father. Now she was here to find him. Turns out he has to find his family as well.

For a man as buttoned-up as Zack, he is very likable. He has the respect of the entire town, and the enmity of some. He is comfortable as he is and doesn't really need someone messing that up. Janie is the epitome of mess. Interestingly, he seems to like it when she does it. She is stubborn and determined. She knows what she wants and one of the things she wants is Zack, but not as he is right now. He has some work to do. Janie is a carer. She has become a friend to Damaris, who maybe doesn't really need her but like to have her there. Janie likes it, too. She likes Cold River, too and tried to imagine staying without Zack. how many of us have done that? So much emotion in this book. So many relationships to repair. I was, at time, heart-breaking. Learning too much about your parents can be like that. Terrific book, terrific series. Gray and Abby are still my favorites.

Let's face it, romance books tend to be formulaic. That is not a bad thing, but if you read a lot of them, and I cheerfully admit I do, you tend to know what to expect. It takes a lot to raise a book above the pack. That said, Caitlin Crews is fast becoming a go-to author for me. Her books, especially her heroines, are different. If you are interested you can read my review of "All Night Long With a Cowboy", a book I loved so much I bought a copy for my non-romance reading daughter.

I loved this book. Gruff sheriff Zack and klutzy Janie are a real match, and reading this book was an unadulterated delight. Not too much angst, a love story, and a happy ending, what's not to like? I am looking forward to my next Caitlin Crews book.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Summer Nights With a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews is the third book in the Kitteridge Ranch series.
This was a charming story of finding your roots and knowing where you're roots are. Zack Kitteridge is the eldest son of one of the founding families of Cold River, he's also the County Sheriff. He's got a complicated relationship with his family, mostly his father. They will tell him it's negate they are more alike than they want to admit. Yet decisions made and a life decided to be near and orderly is where Zack prefers to live. That is until Janie literally falls into his arms.
Janie has moved to Cold River as a live in nurse and she's searching for clues left in a letter after her grandparents passed. She's lost the last of her family and she's looking for a possible link to one of the founding families. She is wide open and ready to get to know the town she has come to admire, for the view and the history. Only thing is she's hyper aware of the sexy Sheriff and all his cowboy hotness and she can rarely keep her wits about her or her face from flaming. So what better way to get to know him better than to challenge him, nobody wants to back down from a dare.

Crews continues to make the small town of Cold River as quaintly charming as humanly possible as we explore it with the new-to-town love interest for the very intense and reserved older Kittredge brother, Zack.
On paper, Janie Atwood is the typical, slightly-too-perfect female lead of every small-town romance. But she stands out from the pack by totally winning you over with her endearing quirks and sweet relationship with the rest of the characters. Not to mention that her relationship with Zack, who begins the book by being suspicious of the new girl in town, is a series of encounters that range from mortifyingly humiliating to extremely hot and sexy with everything in between.
The plot is a series of challenges and revelations about who the characters are as individuals and as members of their families, with some very deep soul searching on Zack's part that might finally shed some light on the Kittredge family's past and secrets.
And that's only a tiny part of everything that happens over the course of the book's 300+ pages, so know that you're in for a very engrossing and emotional read.
I should mention that even though this is book 3, I feel that it can be enjoyed without reading the previous books in the series. You'll just miss out on the fun of getting updates on how previous books' couples are doing in their HEAs.

Happy thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Paperbacks for the emotional read!

This was a sweet, low angst romance and a great addition to the Kittredge Ranch series.

I enjoyed seeing Zack open up to Janie and slowly reconnect with his family. I'm so glad we finally learn the reason for his leaving but I'm kind of stunned and angry that his parents let Zach go on thinking the way he did for so long out of some weird sort of ego/protective reasons. I can't say I blame Zach for being so grumpy.

I like how Janie was so positive and true to herself, even if she was keeping a tiny secret for herself, and how she never let Zach bully her. The two of them together just made sense.

Summer Nights With A Cowboy is the third book in the fun Kittredge Ranch series by Caitlin Crews. I really enjoyed the first two books (though I found Jensen in the second book to be a bit annoying, but enjoyable nonetheless), but it was this one that I couldn't wait to read. And as I was hoping, it was the best installment in the bunch. It was totally worth the wait!

Janie Atwood, a traveling nurse, came to Cold River, Colorado in the Rockies to be the home healthcare nurse to elderly widow Damaris Gardiner. Janie, however, has a secret motive for the Cold River job location: she's hoping to uncover old family secrets that may be hidden there. Zack Kittredge, the handsome, grumpy and intense Sheriff who lives next door to Damaris, however, is very suspicious of the pretty young woman taking care of his friend. Janie's never been in trouble before, so she doesn't understand his doubts about her. If he thinks she's dangerous, why not take advantage of it? As he gets to know her, though, he finds himself becoming quite attracted to her. When she suggests that perhaps he needs some charm school lessons for his abrasive demeanor, they are both shocked that he accepts. Janie does discover her family's secrets...and just maybe she can help Zack discover some of his own.

I really liked the hardworking Sheriff who was very protective of Cold River and his family in the previous books, so I was excited to finally get to read his story. Though he loved his family, it was obvious he had some issues with his father; and with Janie's help, we - and loner Zack himself - find out the truth. The revelation explained a great deal about his character. Though I loved Zack, it was Janie who stole the show! She was just so relatable and charming. She knew Zack seemed to hate her for some reason, but she didn't have any idea why. And then she threw herself at his feet. Literally. As she fell, she dosed him liberally with her snowy mocha coffee. That was embarrassing enough. But she also had red hair, pale skin and freckles, and when embarrassed she resembled a "vat of borscht". She also tended to ramble as she spoke when she was nervous. What woman hadn't been embarrassed when dealing with a handsome man? Janie was stunned when she discovered how pretty Zack thought she was; and he was equally stunned when he found out that men usually treated her as a kid sister or as the friend to introduce men to her friends. I loved Zack for that. Though Janie was innocent, she quickly learned how sexy an " earthy" cowboy could be. Steaminess abounded. I enjoyed Zack's interactions with family members, and finally confronting his father when Janie explained love to him. It was also exciting to find out Janie's family secrets along with her. There was one especially bright spot in this book: Demaris. She was a hoot, and quite the crafty senior! I hate to see the end of this series, and I'm hoping that Ms. Crews can find more stories to share set in Cold River.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Summer Nights with a Cowboy written by Caitlin Crews is the third novel in the Kittredge Ranch series. If you haven’t read any of the books prior to this one, it is definitely not necessary unless you want to know the stories of the secondary characters.

Janie Atwood is a travel nurse for the elderly and found the perfect opportunity in Cold River since she is trying to figure out her connections to one of the founding families of this small town. Unfortunately, Zack Kittredge, the sheriff, is very suspicious of her as soon as he meets her. The banter between Janie and Zack is quite fun and interesting. Both of them carry scars from their past but together they overcome their troubles.

A recommended read for contemporary romance lovers. A heartfelt story between an innocent lady and stern gentleman.
