I admittedly read this a long time ago, but I remember being disappointed. If I remember correctly, it was mostly a matter of being bored and not feeling as if the two leads had great chemistry.

Middle children unite! I love how the author showcases each of the three sisters in this series so differently, and London fits the middle sister type. She is focused and driven to succeed, with Jackson being the yin to her yang.

The story is a slow burn with lots of tension and buildup, leaving me on the edge of my seat as they move from their business relationship into a personal one. I could definitely relate to the balance needed in their switch from business to pleasure. The author handled it well, and it was a solid, fun read.

Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting

Okay, so this started strong. Billionaire meets ambitious businesswoman? I’m listening. The meet-cute was charming, Jackson is the human equivalent of a golden retriever, and London is driven, loyal, and refreshingly no-nonsense. Yes please.

Buuut somewhere along the way, it slowed down. There’s a lot of business talk (a lot), and the spark I was hoping would simmer into something swoony kind of… fizzled? Not bad at all, just not something I’ll be thinking about weeks from now.

📚 If you’re into low-drama, workplace slow burns with ultra-sweet love interests, this could still be your jam.

⭐ 3.5/5 – cute, but not a heart-thief

2nd book in series. I didn't ready the 1st. London is the middle child and the creative one. Jackson is the CEO. Decent story, but I wasn't invested. I did enjoy the characters though. The drama with the ex I didn't enjoy.

I love Helena Hunting and her books are great contemporary romances. This was a nice one, steamy and sweet. The pacing can be a little off sometimes, but love her characters and world building.

This book has been on my Netgalley shelf for years and I haven’t picked it up. No shade to the author or the book, I think my taste has just changed and I’m not the right person to review it anymore.

Book #2 in the Spark House series. Spark House is a family owned and operated hospitality business that caters to some specific markets. Each book is centered on a family member as they work in the family's business. #2 is the romance story of sister #2, London. The books are light hearted and easy to enjoy. No dramatic declarations or sworn enemies here.

London has just broken up with her boyfriend and has joined her sisters for "girls only" evening when they meet a group of business men who ask to join them. One specifically asks London to join him. The sisters say, sorry, but no. Queue the music.......
A few months later, London is scheduled to meet a group interested in working with the Spark House. The CEO turns out to be....you guessed it in one....the business man London turned away. The backstory may sound familiar, but Helena Hunting manages to make the story feel fresh and original. No back biting or stomping of feet. The characters work together well until their closeness grows. This is a very short, lots of details missing, synopsis of a book that was enjoyable. I'm not an avid fan of romances but I'm definitely going to look closer at Helena Hunting's back library to see if there are more like STARRY-EYED LOVE.

A delightful romance that hits all the right notes. The chemistry between London and Jackson is electric, and their slow-burn love story is filled with witty banter, swoon-worthy moments, and just the right amount of tension. I loved London’s strong, independent spirit and how Jackson matches her with charm and depth. The storyline is engaging, with a perfect mix of humor and heart, making it a great escape read. It’s a bit predictable, but in the best, most comforting way. Perfect for fans of feel-good romance with a sprinkle of spice!

Book 2 in this series, focused on London and Jackson. This is a dual POV which I love!
This was a cute and fun read!
The chemistry leapt off of the pages!
They are both down to earth.
The relationship had a good slow burn to it but it was not over done which can happen and then just loses the reader.
The work and personal stand points were not crossed.
Definitely charming, I laughed, tons off emotion and angst.

I adored this book! This author shows once again why she’s a favorite. This slow burn romance between London and Jackson was everything I wanted. I loved the banter and chemistry. I loved revisiting one of my favorite worlds of 2021. I highly recommend this one!

I'll be honest, I am not a big romance reader right now. I have been finding them a bit too fluffy and annoying.

This book doesn't fit that description at all. I know that it's the sequel to a book, but I haven't read the first book. Which is a good and bad thing -- I may not have hated Avery if I had read her book. But even as an eldest child, I found her sooooo annoying.

London and Jackson's relationship evolves fairly organically. The conflicts that keep them apart are natural and less contrived than most romance books. There is miscommunication, but it's actual miscommunication and not just the two MCs not asking for clarification.

I don't think the Jackson chapters are necessary though.

OK this is what I’m talking about. I wasn’t a huge fan of book 1 but this one - this one is for the win.

I absolutely loved London and Jackson. She was such a great sister. She devoted her time to their business despite it not being her dream job. Her love for her sisters is something to strive to achieve. The way she was spread thin was hard to read, but I loved the way she stood up for herself when the time came for it. Now let’s talk about Jackson for a bit. I loved him from the beginning. He was charming and funny, and was so infatuated with London. But the more time they spent together I could just feel he wasn’t completely honest with her. And here's where it got a bit tricky for me. When the whole truth blew up in his face, I was so angry with him.
I could understand how he reasoned his actions but still… if this was real life and I was in her shoes I don’t think I could forget about it. But fortunately, this is all fiction and I could appreciate how the ending turned out. He did love her and wanted nothing more than to stand in her presence and let her shine.

Now I’m ready to see who will catch the eye of the youngest sister. I have a feeling Helena Hunting is saving the best for last.

This was very enjoyable. This is the second in a series, this time featuring London and her romance with Jackson Holt. Avery, her sister who was featured in the first book, is mentioned but I don't think you need to read the first book to appreciate this story.

Spark House is a boutique hotel and event space in Colorado and the Spark sisters are the third generation to run the hotel. They do their best to be eco-friendly and this attracts the attention of Jackson Holt, a millionaire, who wants to team the Spark's up with other companies that do the same and then sparks fly (see what I did there) between Jackson and London. I really liked the characters and the dynamics between London and her sisters. Jackson of course was gorgeous. The hotel sounded like a place I'd want to stay and the area of Colorado was depicted well.

I would like to thank Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with a digital copy.

I love a good romance. The chemistry between Jackson and London flew off the pages and made me giddy!

I think the author did a great job of letting the readers into both characters minds. I loved how vulnerable they were able to be with each other and that we as readers could see that.

I loved getting both points of view and was one of my favorite parts of the story, besides the setting. I never have been to London but I love reading books set there.

The steam was great as well.

Funny, romantic, swoony, and heartfelt! I really enjoyed this continuation of the Spark House series. London was such a relatable character! Her anxiety with phone calls and presentations and overcommitment at work makes her seem real and is something we all experience. Jackson is super swoony and I enjoyed how their relationship came together. I loved the relationship between the sisters and am excited to see how the series concludes. Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I loved the first book in this series so was very excited to get a hold of this one and read about London. The romance was wonderful. It started off as an instant attraction, a parting of ways and then fate bringing it all back. Slow burn, which is EXACTLY what I love.

There was a good mix of both the businesses thrown in, relationships with siblings, past baggage and romance. Helena has a great way of developing characters andI'm excited to read the third!
