I was so excited to receive a digital copy of this book as it immediately brought back so many childhood memories! “Sharon, Lois and Bram’s Skinnamarink” is so special and such a sweet book. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who remembers the show to share with their children.

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House for my digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

Sharon, Lois and Bram's Skinnamarink
by Sharon Hampson; Lois Lilienstein; Bram Morrison
Illustrated by Qin Leng

I received a copy of this e-arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was a child of the 1980s and grew up watching The Elephant Show. An excellent time for this book to come out as many of us in my generation are parents now and as a group tend to be rather nostalgic for our own childhood and simpler times.

This book brings all the feels if it’s a familiar representation of your youth and still brings a lot of feels even if it’s not due to the nature of the song. The text is essentially the song in full and the illustrations are detailed, whimsical and inclusive. The board book will be a great edition to any home nursery or daycare library. This will make a wonderful baby gift.

Thank you, Penguin Random House Canada, for the advance reading copy.

I love such singsong presentation, writing and illustration when it comes to storybooks!

I am sure you will sing when you read this out loud to the kids and dance in your head when you do.

You need to experience what I just experience while reading this cute storybook.

I grew up watching Sharon, Lois and Bram, and love the sincerity and silliness of the song. The illustrations convey so many wonderful experiences and emotions between parent and child, and the familiar song can be sung along as you turn the pages. I think the modern illustrations and simplicity works so well for this simple song. I also love that they have Sharon, Lois and Bram's sign-off at the end. This distinguishes the book as distinctly theirs.

I highly recommend this for families, as well as preschool classrooms. I loved teaching Skinnamarink around Valentines Day and would recommend this to demonstrate the love of our caregivers throughout the year.

This book brought back so many great memories! I loved watching the Sharon, Lois, and Bram on The Elephant Show as a child. I couldn't read this book without singing the song and completing the accompanying hand gestures.

I hope every child gets to experience the love shared in Skinnamarink and maybe someone can teach them the hand gestures.

I grabbed this from netgalley since my husband and I both grew up with Sharon, Lois and Bram and sing this song to our kids. They've recently gotten into singing it on their own to each other, which is really cute.

So this picture book moves past the first verse we know and love and continues in a simple sweet way. All the characters have cute linework and a soft but vibrant color palette. I love that the humans include different skin colors, someone in a hijab, someone using a wheelchair, etc. It's all very cute and keeps to the tune and cadence so you can sing the whole book. I will definitely purchase a copy when it comes out so we can curl up in bed with it at storytime.

Also it can be a good book to share on Valentine's Day or any of day to cheer up with little ones.

This is a beautiful book! I was singing along in my head as I look at the pictures. This book brings back so many happy memories, not only of my own son's childhood as we'd sing along to Sharon, Lois and Bram, but also the last days of my mother's life, who died of Alzheimer's. After she had forgotten just about everything else, me singing Skinnamarink to her would put a smile on her face. The illustrations in this book are absolutely perfect. They're vibrant, uplifting and so inclusive that every reader will see themselves in it. This is a book that every kid and adult will love.

I loved Sharon, Lois, and Bram as a kid so this was a nice surprise. The song is significantly extended in the book from what I remember. The illustrations are great and remind me of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. This is a great bedtime book and kids will love singing along the refrain.

Sharon, Lois and Bram were such an integral part of my childhood, and I'm so glad that children will continue to experience their magic through this book!

Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Skinnamarink is the well-known children's song illustrated as a picture book. The illustrations are very charming with much to see on each page that will make repeated readings interesting for children. This would make a wonderful board book for very young children to "read" on their own that have learned the song.
