A very topic introduction to the importance of bees in our environment. This story is set within the backdrop of beautiful (Victorian inspired?) illustrations. It also has a guide to the meanings of different flowers, which is useful for supporting story writing and building in inferred nuances to description.

Beautiful illustrations, sweet story about some flowers and a bee. A great second purchase or a first purchase if flowers or bees are popular.

A beautifully illustrated picture book which introduces the reader to the language of flowers through the eyes of a curious bumble bee. A lovely addition to a home or school library.

The illustrations in this picture book are just beautiful. The story is sweet and informative. It tells the story of pollination through the lens of flowers who adopt a baby bumblebee they name Beatrice. I just loved the sweet story that would be a wonderful introduction to pollination. Excellent!

This is a soft and pretty book about various flowers that grow in a meadow and how they are cared for and supported by a bumblebee who lives in their midst. The concept of flower meaning may go over the heads of very young readers, but this is still a calm, soothing book for quiet time. If a student found the story engaging I definitely wouldn't discourage them--sometimes a book that appeals to a special interest can be just the right motivation to encourage a kid to practice their reading and language skills!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I thought this was such a beautiful illustrated story about a young bumblebee who was adopted by flowers and grew up learning their language and learning all about them before going to find his own kind to tell them about the flowers. I loved how at the end of the book the author listed all the flowers that were in the book along with their pictures so that children who read the book can learn more about flowers. I highly recommend this for children and even adults who want to look through a beautiful book and learn about flowers and nature.

Sweet illustrations and story of kindness but not essential for our collection. A lovely gift book. I felt the ending came really quick with the second "Dear reader." I do wish the flower meanings in the end were sourced and not "the author's interpretation," but maybe that's just the beauty of flower languages! I suspect it will make a gorgeous physical book.

This story was so cute, meaningful and heartwarming.
I loved the pencil sketches, the illustrations were truly beautiful and sweet. Also the messages about kindness and the importance of bees for our ecosystem were great.
The ‘flower meaning’ at the end is a good addition to the story!

A heart-warming, magical story of an adopted bumble bee and her journey through a harsh world in which she finds new friends. Book also introduces children to western flower meanings.

This is a beautifully illustrated picture book with an important message about kindness. As an adult I loved the gentle and muted colors, but it wasn't colorful enough to hold the attention of my 2.5 year old niece. It probably would appeal to slightly older kids. The story itself is simple and sweet but powerful.. Learning how to spread kindness is so important, especially now. I also loved the glossary at the end explaining the meaning of different flowers.

The artwork was beautiful and the story was really cute. It felt a little disjointed at times and could have used more detail, but I enjoyed it overall.

This is such a beautiful and very sweet story!. It tells about a lone bumblebee named Beatrice who was adopted by the flowers at the meadow where they let drink from their nectars, let her sleep on their leaves and even taught them their own unique and special languages, 'the languages of the flowers! that consist of uttering some positive and nice words to them which in turn helps them grow and bloom beautifully!.

In a way, i loved the simple and easy to understand approach of teaching the children as well as the adults on pollination and the important symbiotic relationships between the bees and the flowers to each other.

I also loved the message and the moral of the story that is the importance of encouraging others with nice and positive words in other to help others to grow and bloom beautifully, even to those that may look strange and different to you, which also teaches the concept of kindness.

My only quirk is that the story ends too abruptly for i was hoping for the ending to be folded up more gently and tightly.

Overall, i loved the book, the exquisite pencil sketches, the beautiful and gentle message of the story. I enjoyed learning 'floriography'/the language of the flowers and the unique and special meanings that each flowers carry which i believed are culturally distinctive as every countries and cultures assign different meanings to the flowers and that's what makes floriography interesting!.

Simply put, a book that i would recommend to anyone in need of a dose of some gentle and sweet story to boost their day!.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read an e-Arc copy of this sweet story in exchange for an honest feedback.

A stunningly, sweet story with gorgeous illustrations. A lullaby of words that cradle the little bee heroine and the very lucky readers in a cocoon of words and feelings.

The beauty and nurture that comes from a relationship with nature is highlighted in this story.

A beautiful read.

Beatrice is born in a meadow of lovely sweet flowers. They take care of her and teach her how to carry messages.

Eventually there are so many flowers Beatrice knows she needs help carrying messages and goes to seek other bees.

This journey requires her to fly through the swamp where scary plants grow. But then Beatrice decides these plants maybe just need to hear kind messages. And it works.

What a pretty books!! I stayed a while in each page, savoring the splendid images with small hints that you won't see if you read it quickly. About a meadow that got blessed with a small bee, who then brought happiness and joy and more flowers to the meadow. And in the end, we learn more about flower language.
