Well one thing is for sure, there is no denying the craft of the artist/author here – her pencilling skills are superlative, as is the way each and every flower in this book (and there are lots) is given a characterful face. The story is quite a strong one too, of how a solitary bee got to spread the love around a flower meadow, until there was so much love and so many flowers, she decides she needs colleagues. I would hope the book gets a wide audience, but I can see some not quite gelling with it for its old-fashioned, quiet charm and its quaint sensibilities. It's always a shame when I predict that happening, for I wish it didn't, but it does. From me, in admiration of the visual style, this is four and a half stars.

A beautiful book that speaks to the important of bees and kindness. Love illustrations that center flowers in muted, dreamy colors.

Cute story and a very amazing visual illustration style. It was so pretty. I also like the theme about flowers and all. A nice little book!

The Language of Flowers is a beautifully illustrated picture book about the relationship between flowers and bees. The wonderful images subtly give each flower a distinct personality and the colors are soft and lovely. The story follows a bee who is doing his job fertilizing plants when he realizes he needs more help and goes in search of more bees. The story is concluded with all of the flowers featured in the story accompanied by their names and meanings.

This is one of those 1 for me and 1 for the library types of purchases, I can tell..
A very short and easy read about flowers adopting a baby bee. Idk what to tell you, it's adorable.
