I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

Title: "The Dachshund Wears Prada" by Stefanie London - A Playful and Endearing Rom-Com

Rating: ★★★★☆

I had the pleasure of diving into an advanced reader copy of "The Dachshund Wears Prada" by Stefanie London, and it was a delightful rom-com that combined humor, romance, and the undeniable charm of dachshunds. Stefanie London weaves a heartwarming tale of love, self-discovery, and, of course, fashionable pups.

The story follows the endearing Millie, a talented fashion designer whose life takes an unexpected turn when she inherits her aunt's dachshund, Duchess. Millie's adventures with Duchess lead her to the charmingly chaotic world of dog fashion, introducing her to the charismatic, if somewhat aloof, veterinarian Sam. London's writing is witty and engaging, filled with humorous banter and quirky characters. The chemistry between Millie and Sam is palpable, and their journey from strangers to lovers is both sweet and satisfying.

What truly stands out in "The Dachshund Wears Prada" is the lovable dachshund Duchess, whose antics and wardrobe changes provide endless entertainment. The novel strikes a perfect balance between lighthearted fun and genuine emotion, making it an enjoyable and heartwarming read. I'd like to express my gratitude to both NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read this advanced copy. "The Dachshund Wears Prada" is a four-star rom-com that will warm the hearts of dog lovers and anyone seeking a delightful, feel-good story filled with fashion, furry friends, and the magic of romance.

It was enjoyable. It was a little more cheesy than I like, or just a different kind of cheese lol. I listened to the audiobook so I don't know if that can be attributed to the narration. I liked the characters but found myself rolling my eyes at the main character's new business venture. Some steamy scenes, which you know I enjoy! A solid 3 stars.

I normally love Stefanie Londons romances, but this one fell flat for me. I struggled to connect to the storyline and characters. I don’t think I was in the right mood to read it. I may try again at a later point, DNF for now.

This was a DNF for me. I tried my best to get into the story, but ultimately, I wasn't invested in the characters or the storyline;

This was so fun! I loved the social media aspect, and would 100% follow The Dachshund Wears Prada for a fix of fun, juicy gossip. Underneath the fun was a story full of loss, grief, and strength that I couldn't put down. I cannot wait to read book 2. I would recommend this to fans of Lauren Layne or Christina Lauren.

I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

This was the first book I have read by Stefanie London and I wasn’t sure what to expect based on the cover. This book was absolutely adorable and as a dachshund obsessed owner they captured Camilla’s personality perfectly! I loved the back stories for both mani characters and the development between the two throughout the book.

Fun read without much substance. If you like dogs, fashion, and rom coms then this is an enjoyable read. It starts of really strong and fades as it goes, but is still an enjoyable read!

I was so incredibly anticipating this one, so it really hurts to say that it didn’t hit. The beginning started off SO strong, I was so ready to become insufferable with my recommendation, but then…

Somewhere after the halfway mark, I just couldn’t wait for this book to end. I might have even skimmed the last couple of hours of my audiobook. I just needed everyone to sit down and have a good therapy session.

Alas, I got through it and am still glad I was able to check this off the tbr!

As a dog lover with no pup of her own, I love to read stories about dogs. My favorite movie of all time is also The Devil Wears Prada, so this book truly spoke with me! I absolutely adored The Dachshund Wears Prada by @stefanielondon!

This adorable romcom features Isla, a down on her luck woman who works in Social Media. She runs into Theo, a wealthy man who just inherited his grandmother’s spoiled dachshund after she away. Camilla is a little terror with new people, but she takes to Isla right away after they meet in Central Park. Theo offers Isla a job as her caregiver; taking her for walks and grooming as well as to the pet psychic!

Isla needs this job desperately after she’s let go from her past job. Isla is responsible for her younger sister, Dani who dreams of becoming a ballerina. But ballet classes and general life is expensive so she’s doing everything she can to get back into social media and her dream job. She starts a fun anonymous Instagram account called the Dachshund wears Prada and uses the voice of Camilla- though we never see her. Theo is extremely sensitive to attention and loves his privacy. Isla thinks that what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him?

This book was a great break from some heavier books. I could see little Camilla sashaying down Madison Avenue on her way to a playdate. I loved the grumpy sunshine romance between Isla and Theo. I also especially loved the very close relationship between Isla and her sister Dani. The whole novel is a delight, for pet lovers and those without furry friends!

I just couldn’t stick with this one — sometimes enemies-to-lovers makes me more anxious than excited, and this did that. The evil little dog was perfection, though! A me problem, not a book problem.

I haven’t read a rom-com for a while and was in the mood for something light, humorous, and appealing. The Dachshund Wears Prada sounded like a perfect fit. But, unfortunately, and even though I’ve read several enjoyable rom-coms, The Dachshund Wears Prada has convinced me that most rom-coms are just not the books for me. Even when the authors are able to ramp up their writing like Ms London has done, the final product just isn’t something I find very appealing.

Like most books of this genre, The Dachshund Wears Prada was very predictable – both the plot and the characters - but that would be ok if the story had more humor, less repetition, and more believable dialogue. The best characters, in my opinion, were Dani, Isla’s younger sister, and Camilla, the dachshund in the title of the book. And even Dani was a bit over the top with her insecurities.

Moreover, the book seemed to drag unnecessarily. I would have found it much more enjoyable without the repetition and the re-thinking that finally prompted me to skim portions of the story. It’s a 2.5 but will bump to 3 stars.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing a copy of this book for review.

This is the perfect book for a warm late summer day, or holiday beach read. Quick, fun, with likeable well developed characters.
Isla is the mother figure for her younger sister Dani. She makes a living as an Instagram and social media consultant. She also happens to love dogs.
Theo not only distrusts social media, but does everything he can to stay out of the spotlight and away from cameras. He feels paparazzi and social media in general are responsible for his parents deaths, as they died in a similar fashion to Princess Diana. He does not like dogs.
When Theo's Grandmother dies leaving him her beloved dachshund, and Isla has a mishap of epic proportions soiling her rep as a consultant, they are inexplicably thrown together. An unlikely match if ever there was one.

I couldn't put this down until it was finished. I absolutely loved it! Highly recommended!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Witty, warm-hearted and so much fun, Stefanie London’s The Dachshund Wears Prada is the perfect summer read.

Social media consultant Isla Thompson knows better than anybody else that all it takes is one mistake to become Instagram poison. Still reeling from the moment her viral moment of shame had ruined a young starlet’s career and made her completely unemployable, Isla needs to get back in the game – fast! With her younger sister to take care of, Isla does not have the luxury to wait out this nightmare of epic proportions and with desperate times calling for desperate measures ends up taking the first job she can get: dog-sitting bad tempered high-maintenance pooch, Camilla. What could possibly go wrong?

After a week of looking after Camilla, Isla realizes that the pampered dog has got a lot in common with her owner, Theo Garrison. Reclusive Theo might appear grouchy and unfriendly, but he has a kind heart only special people are privy to. Theo has got no problem with being disliked – in fact he relishes the fact that most people prefer to give him a wide berth. Isla cannot help but be perplexed by this after a career spent rehabilitating other people’s reprehensive reputations. Yet, the more time Isla spends with Theo, it becomes clear that there’s more to him than meets the eye…

Theo is sweet, funny and caring and somebody Isla is finding herself increasingly drawn to. Isla knows that she should keep things strictly professional with Theo, but when falling in love with him proves inevitable, she wonders whether she will ever manage to breach the walls he had built around himself or whether the two of them are simply too different to ever have a future together.

Sex and the City meets Gilmore Girls in this enchanting romantic comedy readers will find simply irresistible. Stefanie London has written a heartfelt and hilarious romantic read about stepping out of your comfort zone, taking a chance on happiness and falling in love that is absolutely terrific. I adored Isla and Theo and I was cheering them on and keeping everything crossed that they will get the happy ending they deserve.

Sparkling, sassy and oh so stylish, Stefanie London’s The Dachshund Wears Prada is feel-good romantic comedy at its best!

The instant I saw the cover, and the title, of this book I knew I would need to read it! Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read it!

I have dachshunds, and I know what kind of mischief these little boogers can get into, they are such stubborn little beasties, but so very loveable. I was excited to see that this book featured a dachshund. This was a very enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, story.

What a fun story - humor, social media mishaps, an Anna Wintour type dachshund, two sisters struggling on their own, a hermit boss, a sexy romance that all make this a quick read. This was my first S.London story and I look forward to more from her.

The Dachshund Wears Prada by Stefanie London is a pithy rom com that doesn’t exactly break any new ground but is a thoroughly fun and enjoyable read. Although, I will say that the way Isla loses her initial job is described in spectacular fashion. I think people who follow stars on social media secretly hope to eventually see something like this. At least I would. The plot is exactly what you expect from a rom com. This one has something extra though. It has heart that many others are missing. As breezy as the story is, there are multiple relationships that are surprisingly deep. I loved the relationship between Isla and her younger sister Dani. Theo and Isla have a relationship that grows naturally. And then there is Camilla. The pooch of the title is a force to be reckoned with. A thoroughly enjoyable beach read.
