Great story! Poor Isla makes 1 mistake and is out of a job. She runs into Theo and he offers her a job. Theo just lost the last of his family and all he has left is his grandmother’s dog, Camilla. All the dog walkers failed at taming this devil dog and he hired Isla out of desperation.
They form a friendship of sorts and become attracted to one another, but their pasts prevent them from doing anything about it.
This story had the boss-employee thing going, the recluse and type A personalities going for it.
The book was written in a 3rd person perspective which did a great job showing both character’s POV. I loved the ups and downs and Isla breaking Theo’s walls. I knew how it was going to go down, but was a little surprised by how it resolved. I received an arc from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed this book. The h worked hard to support her young sister. Through no fault of her own, the h becomes a pariah in the social media world. She meets the H and starts to build a relationship with him through his deceased grandmother’s pampered dog.

The Dachshund Wears Prada is a fun contemporary romance written with humor and hope. I enjoyed reading this novel and loved all of the wonderful characters including Isla, Theo, and Camilla, the Dachshund. In this story, Isla, Theo, and Camilla the Dachshund all changed for the better, because of love. The storyline was meaningful with an ending filled with hope. I highly recommend reading this heartwarming romance.

It's never too late to change. It's never too late to be happy.

Theo Garrison was quite content having a reputation for being wealthy, anti-social and living his life like a hermit crab. He had no clue that his solitary life was about to explode. He never expected he would be a babysitter to a pretentious, overbearing stubby legged Dachshund named Camilla, seriously?

Isla's life also changed dramatically when she made a mistake, albeit an EPIC one. She lost her job and was about to lose her mind. She had responsibilities, her younger sister Dani who depended on her for just about everything. Isla needed a job yesterday. She finds of all things looking after a dog. But no ordinary pooch. This puppy extraordinaire was none other than Theo Garrisons'. Theo who was sexy as sin. She had heard that he was sullen, snappy and testy, did she mention he was sexy?

As Isla got to know Theo, she saw snippets that he was hiding his true feelings deep down. She saw in him a vulnerable caring side he kept concealed. Stefanie London has once again written an endearing, enchanting story peppered with humor and playfulness that will fill your heart with joy.

A great read.

Isla works in social media, until one mistake casts her out of the industry. As guardian for her younger sister, she needs a job so reluctantly agrees to be a dog sitter for Camilla, the dog just inherited by Theo.
She and Theo are growing closer, but as Isla starts to venture back in to the world of social media it could ruin everything.

I liked how it is told from both of their points of view. Hoping that best friend Scout gets her own book next.

This was a fun romance. I loved the romance between Theo(a total grump) and Isla(a happy, upbeat girl). Theo thought he was enjoying being by himself and letting no one into his life he didn’t realize what he was missing until Isla showed up. Even though he hired her to walk Camilla, his grandmother’s beloved dachshund, and basically leave him alone that just wasn’t in Isla’s nature. Watching Theo slowly open up to Isla was wonderful and it also made Isla want something more than just being guardian of her younger sister. And I must admit that Camilla is a fabulous, mischievous, holy terror of a dog and I loved it.
I loved Theo and Isla together because you could tell they just worked and brought out happiness in each other, something Theo definitely needed in his life.

This book has everything I love about romance. Theo and Isla's difficult pasts are fully developed and build a wonderful foundation for exploring their relationship. Their growth throughout the story is perfectly paced and their chemistry was off the charts. I found myself saying 'just one more chapter' repeatedly as I read well into the night!

Stefanie London has an incredible way of bringing four legged characters to life and this may just be her best one yet. Camilla the dachshund stole every one of her scenes with her haughty attitude and antics. I ADORE her and as she made me smile and laugh every time she appeared on the page.

I was also totally invested in secondary characters Dani and Scout, who added to the story without taking away time from our main couple. I'm hoping Scout will get her own book. I can't wait to read more books in the Paws in the City series.

I love the cover and the premise but I DNF @ 25% because I couldn’t get into the story.

Clearly there’s something wrong with me because everyone else loved it!

Enjoyable and sweet romcom. I love dogs, romantic comedies and New York City so this was right up my alley. It’s a fun book that I think fans of the genre will enjoy.

Theodore “Theo” Garrison is New York royalty, the orphaned son of an actress and a CEO of a major book chain. He is known to the public as the Hermit of Fifth Avenue. Theo inherits his grandmother’s ill-tempered, high-maintenance dachshund. When another dog sitter quits on him, he scrambles to find a replacement for Camilla. Isla seems to be the answer to all his canine problems. However, the beautiful yet caring woman threatens to disrupt his quiet, solitary life. Can Theo trust Isla? Or will she too use him as others did in the past.
Isla Thompson works as a social media consultant, until a mistake blacklists her. She hopes to eventually come back once the backlash wanes. However, she needs a job quickly to help support not only herself but her fourteen-year-old sister. Isla runs into an incognito Theo Garrison, who offers her a job as his dachshund’s dog sitter. The pooch proves to be a moody mess, just like her reclusive owner, and Isla refuses to give up on either of them. Can Isla win both Theo and Camilla’s trust? Will she make her social media comeback? And at what cost?
Theo tugged on my heartstrings. He may have been born into a wealthy and privileged family; however, his life had not been easy. Theo’s rudeness and closed-off disposition are his defense mechanism. I understand Theo’s dislike and distrust towards the press. They are partly responsible for his parents’ death, and they exploited him at his weakest when he was a young boy. What I love the most about Theo is how he recognized a fellow kindred spirit in Isla. He knows that she has been ridiculed by the press like he had. However, Isla did not allow that to corrupt her kindness towards others.
Isla is such a beautiful soul. She has endured many difficulties with her humanity and kindness intact. I admire Isla’s selflessness. She voluntarily steps forward to raise her half-sister when their mother abandoned them. Isla willingly sacrificed her happiness to support her sister’s dreams for the future. What I like the most about Isla is her compassionate nature. She recognized that both Camilla and Theo behaved rudely, only to protect themselves. She genuinely wanted to help them let go of their hurt and trauma to truly live.
THE DACHSHUND WEARS PRADA is book one in Stefanie London’s canine-oriented contemporary series, PAWS IN THE CITY. It is my first time reading this author’s works. Other than the brief TWILIGHT references, it did not disappoint. I admit that the title is what drew me to this book. I am a proud dachshund mother, so I love reading any story with this dog breed.
THE DACHSHUND WEARS PRADA is a cute and uplifting tale of two souls letting go of their past wounds to find love and acceptance. I hope Scout gets a happily-ever-after. I cannot wait for the next installment!

Can I just say, we need more doxie books in this world. that being said, this book was average. The author wrote it well, they just didn't wow me with the plot. I have to be honest, if I wasn't a dachshund lover, I would probably only rate this as 3 stars, as I feel like Isla and Theo could have been developed more. The plot is nothing new, which means the author has to do something amazing to really stand out from the other rich recluse romcoms. however the book is ok, its good way to pass time, however after reading this book has no lasting impact, and I'll probably forget I read it in a bout 2 weeks.

Isla is a social media guru, until one small mistake brings her career crashing down. Now she finds herself as a pseudo-mom to her sister Dani, and a dog sitter to one of New York’s most reclusive (and most eligible) bachelors.

Theo, after suffering tragic events as a child, was burned by the media. He hates the public eye, and keeps himself hidden away from people and tucked into his work. He’s built walls around his heart to never again be hurt by people leaving him or trying use his family name.

While caring for his rambunctious, and often devious, dachshund, Isla starts a secret Instagram account called “The Dachshund Wears Prada” where she shares the ridiculous lives of 5th Avenue’s most prestigious pets. The account is a wild success and Isla starts to dream of her next business move. But just as Isla begins to chip away at the walls around Theo’s heart, sharing his personal world with thousands of people has the opposite effect.

This book was so cute! I loved the contrast of the characters. Where Theo is dark and stormy, Isla is sunshine and light. I liked watching their walls come down and see them find both themselves and each other. I also really enjoyed how fun it was to read - doggie day spas, blowouts, and weekly playdates. I couldn’t get enough! It's the first in a series and I already can't wait to read the next one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for allowing me to read a free ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.

The Dachshund Wears Prada is a fun look into the lives of the rich and famous animals among us. Pet psychics and playgroups and constant grooming appointments are just the beginning of what these dogs go through on a daily basis. Fascinating. The romance between the two main characters was a bit predictable (single girl working for single, rich reclusive but handsome guy?) and the drama that ensued was more than obvious (social media expert and someone who avoids the media at all costs? I don't have to include a spoiler alert to let you know where that is headed).

Still, the characters were enjoyment and the pets were so outrageous that I would certainly recommend this book to any dog-lover out there!

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Isla Thompson social media career came to a screeching halt after a small scandal – now she’s found herself without a job and blacklisted, with rent to pay and a younger sibling to care for. Desperate times… A chance encounter leads Isla to take on a short term gig as a dog sitter for a wealthy, reclusive New Yorker who’s recently inherited dachshund has gone through a number of the city’s best sitters and is desperate for a good fit.

On the surface, it would seem that Theo and Isla have little in common. He’s a wealthy, reclusive, workaholic who shuns the spotlight and media. She’s a social media, go getter, and pseudo-mom struggling to pay the bills and give her sister a good life. However, from their first meeting – there is an undeniable something between them…

I loved this book – it had so many things that I love to see in a romance: a dachshund, Beauty and The Beast vibes, Sunshine Grump Trope, found family / families all look different, a sassy dachshund, a brooding hero, a go-getter heroine…and did I mention an adorable, mischievous and sassy dachshund? 🤗🐾💕

The book was so charming and cute, it was a fun, fast and light read for me (despite hitting on some heavier topics – I love a book with heart). Camilla the dachshund obviously stole the show – I was obsessed with her from page 1. Her spunky character and the lifestyle she was leading was so fun. I loved the idea of the social media account – I would 100% follow.

However, I also really enjoyed the other main characters – Theo and Isla – I was rooting for the two of them and loved seeing their personal growth journeys and how they grew together. Theo made a great leading man – the beastly persona, with hidden depths. Brooding and grieving – and secretly looking for what we all are: love and companionship? Yep, here for it. I loved Isla’s independence, attitude, and determination to keep going and set a great experience for her little sister. Speaking of, Isla’s relationship with her little sister Dani was incredibly sweet and relatable, gave me all the feels.

This was my first, but definitely not my last read from Stefanie London. I had such high hopes going in when I saw the cover / title and I am happy to say that this book was a fast and easy favorite. I’ve pre-ordered a copy for my physical book collection and can’t wait to see that gorgeous cover up close!
