This book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley. The author weaves a story of mystery and intrigue...families living on the same "quiet" street...what happens behind closed doors? What is really going on with the woman who can't leave her home? With the couple with the distrusting wife and perhaps cheating husband...what about the couple, separated, who lost their son...???? Too many questions for one sitting...enjoy this book for an afternoon and an evening...cuddle up under a warm afghan and try to figure out the puzzle...

This is the perfect thriller! I spent an entire rainy day reading it and really enjoyed the book. In a perfect community…the unthinkable happens while the characters grapple! The setting just adds to the allure of the book. Highly recommend

Oh my freaking goodness this book blew my mind on every freaking page! I was a little nervous going in because a friend told me how much she loved it and I thought there was no way it would live up to the hype but it was even BETTER!!! I loved the alternating chapters between the three main characters. I loved hating on some characters and cheering on others. The writing was so great and the character development is absolutely superb!
I had a million theories and they were ALL WRONG and I’m so here for it! There were little bombs dropped throughout the entire book and it made it the best domestic thriller I’ve ever read!

Oooooh, this book was so hard to put down. It's wild how so many lives are affected by the accident (murder?) that occurs in the opening pages. Every single thing about this book was so well thought out, so meticulously planned and written.... it reminded me that human nature is complex, and we weave webs we don't even know we are weaving as we fall into the webs of others- it was probably the best book I've read in months. I cannot wait to share this one and recommend it to others.

Told in alternating points of view from the women in the neighborhood, the book opens with what police call a hit-and-run of a young man named Caleb. His mother is obsessed with her loss and is determined to solve the case. There is the usual cheating, but the most riveting storyline belongs to Georgia, who is being controlled by her domineering, abusive husband, a respected judge.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. A domestic drama that kept me reading but lacked originality to set it apart from other books in the genre. The characters were well-developed, and the secrets in the neighborhood were intense, but it all felt a little too familiar.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the early read.

On a Quiet Street started out strong, wandered/lagged a bit in the middle, then ended on an implausible yet satisfying note. The characters were hard to keep straight at times, and there are a lot of plot lines to follow. It would make a good book club read, though- there is a lot to discuss!
