On the surface, it might seem like the residents of Brighton Hills, an exclusive gated community, live On a Quiet Street, but look again, and there is a strong undercurrent of tension.

Several months ago, Paige’s son died in a hit-and-run, and the police have yet to find a suspect. In her grief, Paige has pushed away her husband and begun spying on her neighbours, desperate to find the person responsible for her son’s death.

Meanwhile, Cora is sure her husband is having an affair, even though he adamantly denies it. Cora elicits Paige’s sleuthing skills to try to catch her husband in the act.

Then there is the reclusive Georgia, who remains a mystery to everyone in the community.

This domestic suspense (dramedy?) is evenly paced and alternates perspectives between Paige, Cora, and Georgia.

On the first page, the narrator states that the people in this exclusive community are too beige and plastic to be that interesting, but that something is brewing beneath the polished surface. While reading this domestic suspense, I really tried to keep this in mind because the characters did not give a great first impression. Then the first reveal came along, and it completely changed everything and had me reframing everything up to that point.

These women have all the gall, wealth, and privilege that allows them to do what they want with sometimes ludicrous results. Yet, I was still rooting for each of them.

Except for one glaring issue, it was a refreshing change reading about these women’s friendship and the lengths they would go to in order to support each other.

Thank you to Graydon House for providing me with an arc via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

So I feel like this book is a bit of a hidden gem because I haven’t heard anything about it and it comes out on the 17th, people!! Mark your calendars because this is a good one!!

As always, I went in blind and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But things got super interesting very quickly and then I became so invested! There’s a dual POV (which I always love) but I was equally interested in reading all 3 viewpoints (which doesn’t usually happen).

The three main characters are Paige, Cora, and Georgia. They all have their own crazy stuff going on, but even though I loved reading about all of them, my favourite story was Georgia’s - I have a feeling you’ll agree with me if you read this one! But even so, all three of these women are awesome in their own way. Paige is a total badass, Cora is tired of being the people pleaser, and Georgia has survived more than a person should ever experience.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC! I have posted this review on Goodreads and on my Bookstagram account (@janinesbookcorner).

So, I basically did a live twitter rant of my dog stupid level drooling love of this book. Let me see if I can get it all down here.

First of all SOMEONE, ANYONE has to turn this sucker into a movie. If Nine Perfect Strangers can make it to Hulu than FFS get this on there because OMG. Melissa Mccarthy needs to bring Cora to life. And Sandra Bullock needs to bring Paige to life. And I'm not sure who would play Georgia but I'm sure they'd figure it out.

I will stan these ladies, and Grant for the rest of my life. These were three dimensional and layered characters that felt real and whole and fully developed PEOPLE.

This book has everything. It has the pshchogical. It has the thriller. So it nailed the assignment. Than it went for extra credit. It has so much dark snarky humor I laughed out loud (you were meant to laugh out loud). It had heart and at times I laughed through tears. This story broke my heart, mended it and than I broke for these families all over again.

The character growth over time. Well for fucks sake I might as well have been reading a fantasy series. The growth and change over time for these characters (well some... tee hee) was just beautifully crafted.

Also, people know I hate when APTs are marketed as such when they are really just literary fiction or family dramas. Don't take the above as that- Trust and believe I would not have liked JUST THAT. This is a true APT. But it weaves in just enough of the above to really grand slam this sucker.

Audiobook note- This might be the first Psychological Thriller I listen to a second time, even. Part of that reason? IMOGEN CHURCH IS A GODDESS OF NARRATION AND DESERVES ALL THE THINGS EVER. I LOVE HER.

WOW! On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass is an amazing ride, right from the first page. The well-developed storyline is engaging and the characters are fantastic. I look forward to reading more from this author.

So this author has a new fan!! This book kept me hooked from start to finish.

A murderer within a psychopath abusing his second wife - a "serial cheater" and a mom who just can't live with the past. It definitely has it all.

There were so many twists and turns - I wasn't sure it was really over! A truly great who dun it with some very likeable, believable characters.

This book was full of twists snd turns from the very beginning, I was so excited to see where it was going with each new chapter. It was almost impossible to guess where each new twist where was going to lead the plot and what the trio of leading ladies were going to get themselves into next. Because these were some really intense main characters who each had a lot going on both personally and between them, which kept the book moving at a good clip so I was never bored.

The central mystery itself, the murder of Paige's son Caleb and what's been going on in the neighborhood was pretty good and I did not figure it out. It's quite a story and worth waiting for as the ladies figure it out. It takes some digging, but as you'll see, there's really not anything that gets by them

Speaking of the main ladies, I liked each of them, though each was deeply flawed in their own way. Like, deeply flawed. But each had some redeeming quality that made you want them to crawl out of the hole they found themselves in and find the light again. This is as much a novel about solving the mysteries in their lives as a book about finding themselves and the balance in those things was perfect. I loved that.

Overall, I really liked this book. It was a great book overall, a spot on domestic thriller.

This is the third domestic suspense novel I've read by Glass and I continue to be impressed by her ability to craft a magnificent, twisty story.

It's a quiet street in an Oregon coastal neighborhood. Except for the fact that a year ago, Paige lost her son in a hit and run accident on their street and she is still mired deep in grief, so much so that her husband has moved out, even though he continues to come over and help around the house. Another neighbor, Cora, suspects that her husband is cheating, but she can't seem to catch him doing so. Georgia is the mother of a young baby, a transplant from England and married to a judge. The other women find her to be stand-offish, and they have heard that she has issues that make it difficult for her to leave the house.

What transpires between these women is surprising and twists abound as their stories come to light. We hear the perspectives of all three women, and this helps the reader to know some of the things they are holding private until they feel safe enough to reveal them to the others. I really appreciated getting some insider knowledge because it makes the story move quickly rather than getting stuck in secret-keeping mode.

There is some gaslighting (a lot of it actually), but for this story it does work because it just solidifies the horrible behavior of many of the characters. It's pretty straightforward (at least to the reader) what is happening, and the women don't stand for it any longer than they have to.

Another thing that surprised me about this book was the humor that was laced throughout. The women come up with schemes to catch those doing awful things and although at times I was rolling my eyes at their bumbling detective work, it served to balance out the other more serious moments.

This book has solidified Glass in my mind as an auto-buy author for twisty domestic suspense.

Brighton Hills is a seemingly perfect HOA community on the Oregon Coast. With expensive houses and giant backyards, it definitely doesn't look like the site of a violent hit and run. Paige is obsessed with finding out who killed her son with their car and left him to die.  Her neighbor and best friend, Cora, has done her best to be comforting, but with her suspicions that her husband Finn is cheating on her, Cora's attention has been fleeting. Paige offers to find proof that Finn is cheating to show Cora just who her friend really is. In the process, they begin to find out more about their seemingly reclusive neighbor, Georgia, and her secrets.

Seraphina Nova Glass has written one of the most unique and interesting thrillers I've read so far this year, and I read a great deal of thrillers. As readers begin to unravel Georgia's story they may find themselves gasping for breath. I found myself wincing and verbally saying things like "you're in serious danger" while reading this book. Paige, Georgia, and Cora, all feel like real women and the reader finds themselves rooting for them and holding their breath until the very last page.

On A Quiet Street is available from Harlequin Trade Publishing May 17th.

I love a psychological thriller that keeps you engaged with twists and turns all the way to the end. This one is a page turner for sure - Cora, Paige, and Georgia all live in the same "quiet street". Paige recently lost her son tragically and won't stop until she finds who is responsible for his death. Cora is always suspecting of her husband. And Georgia is always home and never seems to be interested in getting together with their neighbors. Even though they seem to live regular lives, they will end up sharing an unexpected bond after finding out what they were looking for. I like that the book keeps surprising you, even after you think it is already too close to the end.

This is my first novel by @seraphinanovaglass and she just created herself an auto buy spot on my list. You guys-this book is freaking GOOD. I couldn’t read it fast enough. Its juicy, drama, suspense and thrills all wrapped up in one with a sprinkle of feminism and some bad ass ladies.

It is so full of deceit and lies that you will have no clue who is telling the truth, what is going to happen and how everything ties together which means a sign of great writing to me. Her writing is relatable, truthful and pretty damn realistic. Right from the first page I knew I would love it (Paige and the water hose) It just goes to show you truly don’t know your neighbors. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I will say this-if you are fans of Big Little Lies you will love this!

Thank you so much Netgalley for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

First for me from this author but wow it definitely won't be the last. This one packed a punch. Such fantastic characters and storyline to go along with it. I'm kind of sad that I've finished reading it.
Ended with a bang of course but I want more.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

No one really knows for sure what’s going on in their neighbor’s homes, do they? In Brighton Hills live a group of upper middle class families. Families that have tragedy in their lives just like everyone else, just in comfier surroundings. This neighborhood that borders the Oregon coast harbors dark secrets.

There’s Georgia, a beautiful, young mom to Avery. Married to the prominent judge Lucas Kinney. Her neighbors wonder why she’s so aloof. Her husband shared a story that she is prone to severe panic attacks, and only feels comfortable in her own home.

Cora doesn’t buy it. Cora lives across the street and believes she can help Georgia come out of her self-imposed prison. It’s just one more thing for Cora to do, along with chauffeuring her teenage daughter Mia, running charity events, volunteering at the school. Anything to keep her mind off the possibility of her husband Finn cheating again.

Down the road is Paige. Tragically, Paige lost her son Caleb to a senseless hit and run about a year ago. Paige is obsessed with finding out who could have killed her 22 year old. She is certain that a neighbor did it. Her husband Grant no longer lives at home, but in the apartment above his restaurant. Paige simply can’t move on. Her days are spent spying on the neighborhood.

Pretty soon these women’s lives are going to collide in a way none of them thought was possible. Hiding behind those lovely front yards and perfect facades are skeletons none of them thought existed.

While the novel begins with the tragic death of Caleb, the rest of the novel starts slowly. So slowly you have no idea the ride you’re in for. Seraphina Nova Glass carefully unwraps one layer at a time. Layer after layer until the truth is revealed at the end. I was shocked and fixated on finding out what was going to happen. It’s a page-turner that kept me up past my bedtime. Looking forward to reading her previous novel now.

This one wasn't for me... I read Someone's Listening and really enjoyed it. I found it a quick and engaging read that grabbed me from the beginning and held on tight. This one, however, felt like a bit of a hodgepodge to me... It seemed like a lot was bubbling in the background but not a lot was happening and the characters were exceptionally unlikable. I get that this was sort of the point, but I could not find myself caring about the characters or their situations enough to keep reading...

There are a handful of readers who seem to have had a similar experience, although most seem to really enjoy it. Perhaps this is just a case of one too many domestic thrillers but I just couldn't seem to find my way into this one...

I read and enjoyed a prior book by this author, but I struggled with this one. It was hard to keep the characters straight. It felt like the author was trying to do too much with multiple, confusing storylines. I found myself going back to check on things I'd already read to try and keep the points together. It may have been better to have focused on just a couple of perspectives. As a result, things really lagged for me. The ending was satisfying, but it was a bit frustrating to get there.

This is one of my favorite books this year. I have loved all of her books - she is so relatable and I just love her writing style. She has become one of my favorite authors.

This is another book that you shouldn’t know too much about going in. Don’t read a bunch of reviews.

It’s about some neighbors in a beautiful, luxury community on the Oregon coast. Beyond the perfect exterior is secrets, lies and drama…

"The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide...

Who wouldn't want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It's the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely...

Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating - she just needs to catch him in the act. That's where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run last year, and she's drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things like spying on the locals, searching for proof that her son's death was no accident...and agreeing to Cora's plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely every day. But what could such a lovely young mother possibly be hiding?

When you really start to look beyond the airy open floor plans and marble counters, Brighton Hills is filled with secrets. Some big, some little, some deadly. And one by one, they're about to be revealed..."

You KNOW you need to know the secrets of Brighton Hills!
