I can't wait for my students to see a story about a strong, confident, accomplished athlete that just happens to be female! After trying lots of hobbies, Bibi discovers she has both a love and a talent for tennis. But as she gets more serious about playing and accomplishes more, challenges creep in: pressure, fear, unkindness, and even injury. Her first instinct is to quit, but her mother encourages her to develop mindfulness to cope with her feelings and figure out what she really wants.

Bibi's journey is told in kid-friendly terms that will help them understand how she developed and why it helped her (and could help them!). Her fears and doubts are relatable for children and they will get invested in the outcome of her story. This would be a great read for elementary students and would be a fantastic addition to school and classroom libraries!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I thought Bianca did a great job of demonstrating it is okay to try many different activities and sports before you find the one that fits you just right. I also liked the fact that Bianca outlines how much she has missed out on while growing up in order to achieve her goals. I love that Bianca talks about mental health and the steps she has taken to improve her own mental health. Overall, a great book and I highly recommend.

Bibi's Got Game is the true story of tennis player Bianca Andreescu abbreviated into a picture book about finding your groove, challenging yourself, and using meditation as a coping mechanism. I liked the included simplified meditation guide for children.
