A good read although it did take me a while to get into the story line and gel with the characters which I was not all that keen on.

Overall I found it to be a fair paced thriller but for me personally it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat and wasn't a page turner.

Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Fast paced, thriller. quick, easy read. I recommend it if you’re a fan of thrillers.

I thought this book had good bones. It was an interesting story and it flowed on well. A little slow in paces and in others skipped along really well. Will give the authors other books a try though.

This is the best thriller than I’ve read in a while. I was engrossed in the story until the very end. It’s very simple set up that keeps getting increasingly complicated as the story progresses. I absolutely loved it.

This book is really a fast pace thriller and really a mystery as well. I highly enjoy the storytelling and getting to know the main character. I highly recommend this one if you’re looking for an out of the box exciting read.

This was a quick and easy read that I read in one sitting. It was tense, unpredictable and twisty. I found the storyline interesting and teh charcaters well developed and interesting. A good read.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I just couldn't get into this book. I didn't like the characters, I didn't feel it flowed well; seemed too choppy for me. The back story just wasn't that interesting, so it didn't make the present interesting. Very ok book.

The Eight Year Lie by J.M Hewitt

She ran from the truth. She will do whatever it takes to hide it.

Jessica returns home one day to find her husband, Patrick, dead. It’s unclear what caused his death and though the shock is huge, she cannot pretend it’s entirely unexpected. The police have questions, and Jessica knows that once they hear the answers her fate may well be sealed.

A very good read that keeps you entertained until the end. Jessica was a very interesting character to discover what bought her to be the woman she is today.
A good few twists and shocks to keep you guessing.

A good read.
Jessica returns home one day to find her husband, Patrick, dead. It’s unclear what caused his death and though the shock is huge, she cannot pretend it’s entirely unexpected. The police have questions, and Jessica knows that once they hear the answers her fate may well be sealed. Eight years ago, Jessica was living another life. She was a different person, and despite what people think, she has changed. Anyway, there was never any proof that she harmed anyone back then. Yet on the day she loses her husband, a ghost from the past reappears. Louise was her friend once, but that was then. Now, they are strangers. Except Louise seems very familiar – so familiar that it’s like peering into a mirror. Why would she go out of her way to look just like Jessica? Unless more than one person has been keeping deadly secrets…
Thanks to NetGalley and Canelo for giving me an advance copy.
