I thought this story had an interesting presence, almost Mary Poppins eske. But I just couldn't read this story. There was a lot of descriptions for the different cats and I was honestly confused as to whether this book was for children for adults.

3☆ An Endearing Story with plenty of Quirky Characters.

This is my first book I have read in this new children's adventure series. I would recommend that you read previous books as although there is introductions to Miss Petitfour and her array of loveable quirky cats I do think it would help to read previous storylines.

I had mixed emotions reading this book although I enjoyed reading this book it didn't hold my attention.
I definitely think it's more aimed at middle grade readers as there is a fair amount of complex wording and word play,  that younger readers would not necessarily relate too.

For me there was far too much word play and teachings of vocabulary rather than concentrating on the actual story.
It felt like the book was trying to educate more than being a fun fiction adventure which I what I perceived the story to be.
I became a tad put off by the teachings and think children may also lose interest.
For example teaching children about rhyming words in the middle of a paragraph it felt a little irrelevant and long winded, and in doing so lost site of the storyline, I had to go back a few sentences to read what was happening.

That said it was an Endearing story, with quirky fun characters, some adorable cats with quirky personalities children will love, some beautiful illustrations which was a nice added touch. It just wasn't for me I'm afraid. This book really has amazing potential I just feel it needs to be a little more focused on the story telling.

I did not read the first book of Miss Petitfour’s adventures so did not know what to expect. I must admit I was disappointed at first as the story seemed to be going nowhere. But then I realized that the “adventure” part was not really the point. Rather it seems to be a book featuring much play on words and explanations of idioms. It does so by weaving them into the adventures of Miss Pettifour and her sixteen cats. The adventures were farfetched and crazy. The explanations were fun and enjoyable and overall the book held my interest. Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for given me an electronic advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher for granting me access to this book. When I saw cats I knew my girls would love me reading it, and I wasn’t wrong. They loved the funny names and all that Miss Peritfour got into with her cats. The only downside was, as my five year old stated, it was a bit wordy and long in some sentences(literally a mouthful). Other than that, it was colorful and whimsical!

I found the premise very intriguing and a fun idea that originally reminded me of Mary Poppins, always a favorite in my book, but ultimately I was disappointed and left feeling very confused due to the immense amount of digressions and ramblings.

This book was darling!!!

I would have read it for the illustrations and the cats alone, but the stories were very hugge and comforting.

I will be buying it so that we own it for our bookshelf!

I have to say that I was disappointed in this book because the adventures weren't all that adventurous. I attempted to read one of the adventures to a middle school child, who quickly grew bored with the story and preferred to just talk because "this book is boring."
I have to say that I agree. The redeeming quality of this book is in the teaching of vocabulary words. However, it would be better tempered with adventures that are a bit more exciting. I think that a smart 2nd grader might enjoy these stories more than a middle school child.

Delightful read.
Thank you, Penguin Random House Canada, for providing me an advance reading copy.
I would want to have a physical copy of this book when it comes out.

I am a cat mom these days and I can relate to Miss Petitfour so much!

The play of words, introducing new words, all in the vein of happiness vibes because our Miss is a true believer in chasing after happiness!

The writing is so much fun to read with lots of activities going on for each chapter. The illustrations are just a treat to the eyes. It feels like Thanksgiving!

Have this one in your collection. Every read will be worth it.

A collection of stories about Miss Petitfour and her 16 cats: I love the delightful illustrations. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves cats and quirky stories. The author did an excellent job, including whimsical characters and vocabulary lessons. I also love the narration, especially how some of the words rhyme. I enjoyed this book and gave it four stars.

Thank you to Penguin Random House for giving me an honest review of this book.

I am in love with this adorable book. It reminds me of so many of the delightful stories I read when I was young (fifty-plus years ago.) As I typically review young adult and middle-grade books, this book was a refreshing return to my youth and I found myself reading the entire book in one sitting. The citizens of the nearby little hamlet, all with their charmingly silly names and perfect-for-them occupations, made me smile,( though some of their hyphenated surnames were a bit too long for my level of patience, and I skipped over the middle and went straight for the final name.) As well, the vision of sweet Miss Petitfour traveling through the air by way of a tablecloth sail, accompanied by a trail of cats, appealed to me in every way. It almost made me wish my children were small again so we could read these stories together. I am a high school librarian, and as such, cannot purchase this book for our collection, but I will be ordering it for my grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour continues the whimsical adventures of Miss Petitfour and her sixteen cats, travels that take them from the kitchen, to the clouds, and back down to earth. The poetic prose is full of wordplay, puns, and some sophisticated vocabulary. The book is undeniably sweet, but just the right flavor for fans of Mary Poppins or Pippi Longstocking.

This is my first time reading about Miss Petitfour, and this book was very cute; I especially liked the drawings which made the text more fun and enjoyable to read. Also, I liked how the author decided to define words in the text, and I also liked the adventure Miss Petitfour (and her cats!) is on. Amazing.

I am so pleased I was able to get an ARC of this title from NetGalley and the publisher. I had never read a Miss Petitfour book and worried I would miss some things about the plot; that fear was unfounded. There are mentions of the previous stories but the stories are not “spoiled” for those of us who haven’t read them. The narration feels like a big hug. The author’s style reminds me a great deal of Lemony Snicket as they cleverly use and define new words. This book is highly recommended for people that enjoy writing or wordplay and clever, sweet, funny adventures.

This book is so cute! I loved the detail in the storytelling and illustrations. As a cat lover. I was a fan of all Miss Petitfour’s cats and their personalities. The characters are all fun and whimsical. A very enjoyable read.

Very endearing art.
Stories are short and sweet. A great pick for cat lovers of all ages, for manic pixie dream people of all ages, for aspiring or current crazy cat people of all ages.
I mostly recommend this to middle readers and parents that don’t mind reading slightly longer stories to their kids.
