I received an advanced copy of the book and audio version and truly enjoyed reading it. I would actually give this 4 1/2 stars if I could. I’ve followed Ashley on IG for a few years and have enjoyed watching her stories showing the daily life of their family. This book is an even more intimate look into their marriage and includes trials and triumphs. They offer a perspective that I think is valuable and nuggets of wisdom I would like to implement into my own life. I found myself skimming over the design tips but understand how important designing a life is to Ashley, and that the tips included were not just about styling a home.

Really enjoy the dynamics between these two. I love the family. The design elements. Just the raw honesty of them

Thank you Ashley and Dino for sharing such a great book with us. Your vulnerability and humor were refreshing and so needed in this day. You don’t just show all the good and filtered stuff you showed the hard parts too. The battles, the sadness, you were real and I that’s beautiful. The photos and other tips are great too. It’s like 2 books in one. A story about marriage and a home book with great tips. It also can be a beautiful coffee table book when you’re done reading. The audio book is also really good and read by ash and Dino!

I loved this book! It’s a mix of a memoir and design book and those are my favorite kind. I share similar values with Ashley and Dino so it was really helpful while reading their book. After reading the book I started following them on social media and that has been a nice bonus to the book content. They are so authentic and I am inspired by their journey and content.

I have followed Ashley and Dino Petrone for quite some time on instagram. I was excited to read the book and learn more about their story. I didn’t expect to learn more about myself in the process. I loved the way the book had both Ashley and Dino “speaking”. It was interesting to see their different views of situations and how they came together for their marriage and family. The decorating tips were a fun addition and made sense in their placement in the book. I have recommended the book to many. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to the authors, Tyndale Momentum, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I really liked this design book, but it is really much more than that.

I was lucky to get an early copy of the book and it came at the right time. After following Dino and Ashley since the early trailer days I didn't really expect to learn anything new or to be so impacted by a "design book." I stand corrected! This book came at a time when it was much needed. This book is far beyond a design your home book but truly a design your life book about intentionality in your marriage and family taking center stage. We could all benefit from Dino and Ashley advice and love in the world. For those who think they already follow Ashley on IG and know her story- trust me, she still has so much to speak to you.

This was such a sweet story about life and marriage and how to honor God with both! I have followed @arrowsandbow on Instagram for about a year and always loved Ashley and Dino for the design style they had but never knew anything about their life prior to me following Ashley’s page. This book dove into their personal story and had some design tips (which I LOVED) sprinkled throughout! I definitely enjoyed this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Tyndale House Publishers for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review!

Dino and Ashley share with us 100 percent of their lives. The good, the not so pretty and the life changing moments. Their witness to living simply and intentionally with a focus on Christ is what makes their marriage and their family stand out. Their book gives so many wonderful things to do to make your marriage and family closer and more enjoyable. I will be rereading this over and over! Ashley offers great decorating and interior design inspirations and tips throughout the book as well!

This is a difficult book for me to review for a few reasons. I feel like the book, and the authors were all over the place. From the writing style to the entire point of the book- part memoir, part design book, I often found myself annoyed and putting it down from the flip flopping to the confused message.
They kept stressing the importance of finding joy and contentment in the in between, but told the story of their life which clearly showed them jumping to the next big thing. I just felt such a disconnect from what they were preaching to what they were always doing. It’s so confusing. They were constantly contradicting themselves.
While the message and purpose of the book are muddled there WERE some great messages and passages -particularly from Dino about faith and marriage which might be worth the read alone.
I feel like this COULD have been a great book had they taken the design element out and really taken time to hone in on what their book was really saying vs what they WANTED it to say.
All in all I found it to be a take it or leave it kind of book.
3.5/5

This book is an unusual combination of a memoir/marriage advice/design guide but somehow it works. The authors each give their separate points of view about situations in their marriage as well as design advice in each chapter. There are beautiful photos of several of their houses as well candid life images. I read an advanced digital copy from the publisher via NetGalley, but I recommend purchasing the physical book because of the wonderful photos. This would be good for any lover of home design, especially married ones.

An amazing read! I couldn't put this book down, read every word in 1 sitting. Relatable, inspiring, raw and real pieces of their life bring you into their story, keep you there praying alongside them and cheering when God brings them to new high points in their adventure. I love that each chapter has a his & hers part, so nice to know what each was thinking and feeling as things were happening.
I've been following the Patrones for years on Instagram, this book gave a different perspective of things happening during that time. So inspiring to witness such a wholesome family rooted in their love for God and each other.

What was cool about this book is it is part memoir, part design book. I have followed Ashley's insta for a while and love them as a couple, so it was fun hearing more of their back story. They are very real about their process and I love that.

Loved this book from cover to end page! Loved having husband Dino and wife Ashley views in book.
Ashley is quite the Wonder Woman in all that she touches from home decor, the Joie Inn and now this Fabulous book.
Love following her journey full of JOY in everything she does.
Can't wait to see what Joyful thing she comes up with next!

I haven’t followed along with Ashley and Dino’s story so this book was such a treat! I admittedly liked the memoir portions far more than the interior design tips mixed in between. I think it would have been more impactful for them to write a separate memoir and a separate how-to design book but that’s just my opinion. I’ll be following along with them now!

I was not a follower of Ashley’s before this book, but I wasn’t surprised by how much I liked Designed to Last. Part memoir, part design book — two of my favorite things in one! I liked getting both Ashley’s and Dino’s perspectives about their marriage and life and faith. I loved the pictures! And I loved the design tips at the end of each chapter. This is a unique book that I would have liked to have had when I was newly married in our first home. Highly recommended!

This was a highly anticipated read for me, as I follow Ashley Petrone's account on Instagram. In many cases, when an influencer writes a book, I worry that they'll recycle old material, or stay closer to the surface of various topics rather than taking a deeper dive and examining the events that occurred. In this book, while Ashley and Dino did touch on the greatest hits (they rehabbed an old RV and made a luxurious tiny house out of it), they also were able to go more into detail of the events that occurred, the reasoning behind moving ahead on a project or waiting, and even their family planning and unexpected hardships.

Throughout the memoir, they included tips for designing, refreshing, and finding contentment. As a long-time account follower, I knew I was only getting a snippet of their lives, and even though we are given more insider knowledge in the book, we as readers or outsiders can never really know a person's whole life. That said, they did market this as a book about contentment and finding joy in where you are. I did not get that impression from their Instagram account nor from this book. This would be great if it was marketed more as finding the next great adventure or the next new thrill. I just didn't get the sense that they are seeking contentment when they frequently move and uproot their family. However, I love watching their many moves, rehabs and flips. I as a fan have no problem if that's their intent, but would like the message to reflect that more clearly as a reader.
