Abby Reynolds had an amazing life in NYC - perfect job and perfect fiancée. Why, then, does she find herself back in the small Irish town she grew up in, jobless and single? When she first arrives back, she sets her eyes on a handsome stranger, only to find out that he is her childhood friend and neighbour, Luke.

Everyone in Ireland thinks Abby is still to get married next year, including her sister and the gorgeous Luke. The Rebound follows Abby working out what step to take next and what the important things - and people - in life are.

I love books set in Ireland, and this was such a fun, heartwarming story! I loved Abby’s antics and reading about her growth. Definitely a good book if you are looking for escapism!

Thanks to @netgalley and @bookouture for the review copy.

I read this book a while ago, but was unable to review until now. The story was really creative and I had a fun time being able to read it. The characters were very cute and their relationship was very cute.

I loved Catherine Walshs first book One Night Only and I loved this even more. It was such an addictive read that I found hard it to put down. Very early on I was fully invested.
I loved the characters, especially Beth, I feel like everyone needs a Beth in their lives.
Abby is such a real character and I loved her relationships with her friends and family, as well as seeing her learn to love herself.
A wholesome, heartwarming and lighthearted story and one that I'd definitely recommend.

I am starting to realize that I absolutely love rom-coms, coming from someone who typically reads horror or thrillers, this was such a palette cleanser of a book! Pick this up, you will NOT be disappointed!!

Than you so much to the publisher and author for a review copy. I started reading this one so long ago, got to bout the 10% mark and put it down. Have tried to keep going a few times but unfortunately I just don't think this one is for me. I can see that it's well written, and would definitely recommend to certain friends but not for me.

This fell a little flat for me. I love when characters in romance novels go back to their hometowns for whatever reason and find love there, and I did really enjoy the main characters in this book, but for whatever reason, I didn't find myself hooked on their story, or really rooting for them at all. This was a quick read, but I can't really say there was anything remarkable about it.

This one didn’t do it for me. Not a lot was happening. And at 20 percent when it hadn’t got any further plot wise than at 5 percent I gave up.

I'm not a fan of the miscommunication trope, but I love when characters go from fast-paced city life to their rural homes. Classic slow-burn romance with the perfect cast of characters that you grow fond of through their shenanigans.

Abby Reynolds returns to Clonard, Ireland with her tail between her legs. After years in New York she’s back, unemployed and recently unengaged. Dumped. She shows up on her sister’s doorstep unannounced and grits her teeth at being back in this small town, staying with a sister she hates. She runs into a hottie, who ends up being her old childhood neighbor. He’s grown up and hot. Sparks fly but she hasn’t quite told everyone the real story of why she’s back home.
The Rebound didn’t do it for me. It was a lot of unnecessary characters and drama and not enough romcom. It was a lot of fits and starts. It took a long time to really go anywhere.

This book ended up being a DNF. Rating is based solely on the content I did read. I ultimately found the pacing and development of the story and/or characters not engaging enough to continue on and finish the complete book.

I really love myself a cute romance every once in a while, while reading angsty stuff. And I think that this book contains every bit of the cute romance I was looking for. Really irresistible, love the characters.

I really enjoyed this book, it kept me turning the page to find out just what would happen with Abby.

The characters were relatable especially Abby the main one. I felt like I was reading about my friend and was rooting for her through the story. The family background and relationships were also relatable. It also helped to connect to these people too.

There were times when the story kept me guessing about what might happen and I liked that. I also liked that it turned out how I wanted it to.

I haven't read anything by Catherine before but I loved this story. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for her other stories to read!

3.5 Stars. When Abby is dumped and loses her job, she moves back to her hometown to live with her sister who now lives in their childhood home in Ireland. The town is aware of Abby’s circumstances but lets her tell them otherwise. One of the people she is reconnected with is Luke, who grew up next door, and the pair fall in love.

This was a quick and easy read. I do think that it is more of a women’s fiction with a romantic sub-plot than a true romance as the focus is very much on Abby’s journey and not on the relationship. I also found Abby’s complicated relationship with her sister to be more compelling than her relationship with Luke. I am a bit confused by the marketing around the book calling it a “hilarious, romantic comedy” because it wasn’t in the least bit funny. I think if I had picked this up thinking it would be a deeply romantic and funny book I would have been highly disappointed, but I had read reviews so I knew where to set my expectations.

I’m such a sucker for a good rom-com! Loved this one and the childhood friend, enemies to lovers trope. It was super fun and easy to read. Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a light read.

Personally, I couldn't finish this book so I don't feel like I am the best to give a review. It was a stop and go read and I got about 25% into it before I called it quits - the characters didn't really appeal to me and I couldn't connect, so I just didn't finish it. I gave the book about a week before I called it.

I can’t believe I waited so long on this one.

This was so cute!
Irish vibes- check
Boy next door romance- check
A quirky village with all your favorite people- triple check.

Abby Reynolds has become a New Yorker after leaving her Irish town for a more exciting life- until she loses it all in a blink: job, fiancé, and all of her money. Forced to go back to Ireland, Abby encounters a handsome stranger who she shares history with.

They say that the best way to get over something is to get under someone so that is what Abby sets off to do. It may just be a little more difficult than she thinks.

Very cute and simmering romance- I would definitely check out future releases by Catherine Walsh.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!
