This is such a good read! Very heartwarming. Daisy goes through so much and her faith is tested. What a blessing Todd is. Such a good man. Daisy is so blessed to have him in her life. Lillian (Daisy’s sister) is a very spoiled, unforgiving, entitled young woman. Brandon, Lillian’s boyfriend that is a pilot in the Army Air Force is a real piece of work. Daisy is played by Brandon in is anger at Lillian for pressuring him into marriage that he is not ready for. Unfortunately, Daisy has to bare the burden of their night of mistake. This is a very good Christian read of mistakes and forgiveness. Loved this book.

I liked this 2 timeline story.
Brianna has a college assignment to interview someone about a past time. She decided to interview her great-Grandma Daisy who was about 20 during WW2. She learns a lot about life, young love, and faith.

I liked Daisy. Yes, mistakes were made but she ended up dealing with her choices in a mature way, I thought. I loved Todd a lot. The way he marries Daisy to keep her from shame and they eventually fall in love, aw! He was just a day man in the way he cared for her son.

I like that she was able to help her great- granddaughter through the faith they both had. The faith talk tends to be really heavy in the last half of this book so if that's not your thing, this may not be the book for you. I did tend to skip over that talk.

I'll Be Seeing You is a split-timeline tale of generational secrets told by a great-grandmother who grew up in the World War II era.

Brianna Hastings' life is incredibly boring, until the day she meets Greg. Movie-star handsome, independent, and into church-y things; what more could a girl ask for? Well, great-grandma Daisy has a few thoughts about men who look good on the outside, but just might be rotten to the core.. A college history assignment leaves Brianna spending countless hours with her great-grandmother, listening to the stories of long ago mistakes, heartbreak, and forgiveness.

Back in the early 1940's, Daisy has fallen desperately in love. The only problem? He doesn't even seem to notice she exists--and he's dating her sister. A spontaneous mistake completely changes Daisy's life forever, and leaves her trapped in a web of lies in a feeble attempt to protect the ones she loves the most. But lies can't stay hidden forever, and one day the truth will come out.

I'll Be Seeing You is a beautiful, yet heart-wrenching tale of regret and forgiveness. The love of God is woven intricately throughout the pages, keeping salvation and grace at the centre. Both timelines were amazing, but I was especially drawn to the historical storyline. My heart ached for Daisy and her family as they faced the pain unwise decisions cost them. Todd was a fantastic hero, and such a wonderful example of God's grace throughout the book. I also enjoyed seeing Brianna's character grow and mature through the lessons she learned, both through her great-grandma and through difficult life lessons.

If you enjoy dual timelines with a deep faith and beautiful romance, you won't want to miss I'll Be Seeing You. This one gets an easy 5/5 stars!

This is a full-length split-time (WWII and contemporary) romance novel with strong themes of God’s grace through out. About a granddaughter, Brianna and her great grandmother, Daisy. Many times the younger do not want to heed the advice of their elders. This is such a story. One about secrets, lies and forgiveness. A Christian tale without being preachy. Also making sure about the one you think God has prepared for you. Hatcher has created great characters with great scenes......I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. I am pleased to leave a review.

This is my first book by Robin Lee Hatcher, and it was very good. The story was engaging. There were so many different aspects concerning mistakes made and the aftereffects. There were quite a few mature themes in this book, but everything was spoken of to an appropriate extent. Nothing was described explicitly.

Furthermore, the love which wound up being expressed through the length of the story was inspiring and beautiful. A well-written story! Glad to have read it and will look at more of Robin Lee Hatcher’s books in the future.

I absolutely adored this book! The author develops the characters so much that the reader in totally invested in them. I cared so much about them and wanted to know how each of their lives turned out! It follows a great-grandmother and her great-granddaughter's stories so it's a dual timeline as the great-granddaughter is doing a college paper about her ggma. She learns things that will impact her own life and in turn, will surprise her. The ggma's story is from the WWII era and has several characters but it shows how a lie effects so many people for so many years. The story also talks about how the war changes people. I enjoyed all of it. Yes, some of the characters were petty and selfish but a lot of people were that way so it was true to life! I truly couldn't put this book down and read it for two days straight until I finished it. I still didn't want it to be done! I will miss those characters!

Wonderful story that goes between the early 1940's and the current time.
Beginning at the tender age of 14, Daisy is attracted to her older sister's boyfriend and believes herself to be in love with him. He has joined the military after graduation from high school and aspires to be a bomber pilot. Dreamy, right? Until war broke out. Everyone is scared and uncertain about the future. On one fateful night, the unthinkable happens and leaves Daisy in a predicament.
Flash to present time and Daisy's great granddaughter is chatting with her about the war for a college history assignment. Daisy realizes her great granddaughter has a lot in common with her older sister back when they were young girls.
Brianna, also is faced with a decision. Will she do the right thing, or give in to temptation?
A faith filled story of how choices will affect the rest of our lives, as well as those of others.
Highly recommend this read!

Robin Lee Hatcher writes some of the best dual time stories! This one was a beaut! I really enjoyed the storyline and characters in this one, the two storylines complimented each other nicely and made for a wonderful read. My only minor complaint would be I would have liked to know more of how one character's life turned out from the 1940's storyline but other than that this story was truly lovely. Definitely recommended!

This is a wonderful book! It's well written and hooks you on the first page. Once you start reading it you don't want to put it down. It's a dual timeline story that flows seamlessly and it's one of those books that you hate to see end, but you just have to know what happens next. Love it and highly recommend it.

Soul satisfying:
This book was heartbreaking, tender and emotional yet it was also filled with hope and timeless truths. The message of the incredible grace that God bestows upon us was uplifting and it was wonderful being reminded how He restores and heals those who turn to Him in true repentance.
There were dual timelines and although one of which was set during WWII, it wasn't your typical war story and rather highlighted what life was like for common people back in the USA during that time. I grew to become very fond of Daisy and young Brianna too. It was interesting how although separated by 80 years in age and living in different eras, they still faced similar challenges and had some difficult lessons to learn.

It has been too long since I read a book by Robin Lee Hatcher. As always, Ms. Hatcher took me on a beautiful journey with some wonderful characters. The use of dual timeline to tell this story just made it better as it is one of my favorite styles of storytelling.

Brianna Hastings is assigned a project by her history professor. She chooses to interview her grandmother who lived through WWII.

In 1940s Idaho, Daisy and her sister both have eyes for the bomber pilot they have known for a long time. When he chooses her sister, Daisy tries her best to move on. During one night, one sister's actions will have permanent consequences and will drive the two sister's apart.

I loved everything about this story. The dual timeline, how as Brianna learned about her grandmother, she was learning similar lessons of her own. How Daisy took a difficult situation and made the best out of it. In the long term, she found love in the last place she expected to and that part of the story along with the redemption is such a beautiful thing. It is an aspect of Ms. Hatcher's novels I will never get tired of. Her faith-filled message and characters who struggle with their faith and later have faith that is strengthened is why I read her books.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. All views are simply my honest opinion.

I’ll Be Seeing You starts off very slow and uneventful but if you stick with it, it continues to become this powerfully beautiful story about forgiveness, grace and true love! I just love reading dual timelines, being able to read two different stories and watching how they slowly weave together into one. At first I I thought the multiple POVs was a bit too much but as the story progressed I came to appreciate being able to know what each character was thinking and feeling. I think quiet characters are soooo underrated in Christian fiction! Loud confident characters certainly add more drama to a story but I prefer watching the quiet unconfident ones blossom and grow. I think Todd may be my new favourite male MC! The older I get the more I appreciate strong steady characters in books and I just loved his acceptance and unconditional love of Daisy. I’m a sucker for marriage of convenience and just so enjoy watching a relationship grow from strangers to friendship to love.

I really enjoy dual timeline stories. I love history and enjoy sitting back feeling like I'm listening to my grandparents tell me a story. There was so much going on in this book with Daisy, Brandon, Todd and Brianna. There were moments it felt like nothing would go right and other moments when it was perfect. This book touched on a lot of sensitive topics, but it was handled well. I really enjoyed it.

Brianna Hastings’s life seems dull and full of disappointment until a handsome young man visits her church. She’s instantly smitten by the charming Greg, who leads an exciting, independent life—the kind of life she longs for. But when a college history assignment forces Brianna to interview her great-grandmother about life during World War II, she can’t believe it when Daisy presses her with questions about Greg’s character. “What sort of man is he? Who is he at his core?”

What could her great-grandmother possibly know about love at first sight?

The questions take both women back to Boise, Idaho, in the early 1940s, when war emphasized how fragile life could be. Daisy and her older sister pine for the same handsome bomber pilot—until one night of terrible judgment reveals their true characters and drives them apart. Trying to protect the people she loves the most, Daisy condemns herself to live a lie.

In the years that follow, as Daisy grapples with the consequences, she receives unexpected grace from a man she’s known her whole life but never looked at twice. Could what she learned about love save Brianna from heartache three generations later?

My review: I had a little trouble getting into this book. It was actually two stories in one. Daisy's and her great granddaughters stories. I don't mind books that go back and forth in time. It just seemed to drag. I've read other books by Ms. Hatcher and thoroughly enjoyed them. Brianna seems to be a really shallow person until the end of the book. Daisy had to learn some very tough life lessons the hard way also. Maybe I saw the book as a repeat of each others life. I found myself skimming parts of the book just to finish it.

I was given this book by Thomas Nelson Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I am quickly becoming a fan of WWII era books. The dual timeline in this story was nicely tied together. Daisy always lived in her sister's shadow. A decision one night changed Daisy's life and the relationship with her sister forever. In current day, Daisy uses her wisdom from that experience to gently steer her great-granddaughter in the right direction. This story shows God's love and forgiveness and how the one that struggles with forgiveness is ourselves. This was my first time reading a novel by this author and have enjoyed her storytelling and writing style. I'll definitely read more books by Robin Lee Hatcher.

In I’ll Be Seeing You, Robin Lee Hatcher has created a dual-time novel that pulled me through its pages. Each story is complete and engaging. Put them together and this is a book that I couldn’t put down with its themes of family and love. I highly recommend it!

What sort of man is he? Who is he at his core?

Those are the questions Daisy asks her great-granddaughter Briana Hastings when she is smitten by the new guy in town. The very same questions Daisy herself wrestled with amidst the upheaval and heartaches of World War II. Will her words of warning be enough to protect Briana from the same mistakes Daisy made? Or is history destined to repeat itself?
Told in split-time, I’ll Be Seeing You is a sweet and tender look at what is truly needed to create a life-long, lasting romance.

#BookRevew: I'LL BE SEEING YOU by Robin Lee Hatcher

“She couldn’t change her past. It was done. But she could trust God while reaching for her future, a future that God in His mercy had provided for her.”

I have always enjoyed this author’s work but I think this one is a favorite. She weaved a faith-filled heartbreaking story but not preachy. It was a little hard to read at times due to the characters’ choices, but inspirational and thought provoking.

Daisy and Brianna’s stories got me hooked from page one. I wasn’t pleased with Brianna at first. Her school project led her to spend more time with her great-grandmother. While she listened to her stories, Brianna realized the more important things in life. She learned more about her family history as well as key values to live by.

Daisy experienced the Great Depression, WWII, scarcity of food and then dealt with the consequences of her mistake. All it took was one mistake. A mistake that led to dishonesty. I liked Todd. His support was a blessing. Daisy’s life was distressing at times. Over time, she had to learn to let go of the past and live life the way God wanted her to live. To forgive and be forgiven. To be honest to the people who cared for her. It was quite a soul searching journey with the Kinnear family and I loved it.

If you like dual timeline stories with family drama and God’s grace, this one’s for you. I am grateful for the message.

One mistake changed Daisy's life. Will it destroy her and her family, or can she learn to acknowledge the past, accept forgiveness, build a new life and one day help others through her story? Brianna never wanted to study history, but she slowly begins to enjoy the project that has her learning about her great-grandmother's experiences growing up during the war. Meanwhile, though, her personal life is suddenly rendered exciting by the presence of a new young man at church who seems interested in her. If only her great-grandmother wouldn't insist on asking unanswerable questions about his character! But as she hears more of Daisy's story, she gradually starts to learn about the things that are important in life.

I always enjoy this author's writing, but I think this has to be my favourite to date. The author expertly and apparently effortlessly weaves together two different times and several different points of view so that each complements the rest. The result is far more than just the sum of its parts. Seeing Daisy as a character both past and present was amazing - I particularly enjoyed her story, but I also loved the way that she was able to help Brianna grow based on her own past experiences. All in all, it's a heart-warming story with characters that felt real and an inspiring and thought-provoking message. Highly recommended.

I’ll Be Seeing You by Robin Lee Hatcher has Brianna Hastings doing a research project for her college history class. She must interview the oldest member of her family who happens to be her ninety-eight-year-old grandmother, Daisy. Daisy tells her granddaughter about living through World War II in Boise, Idaho. She has valuable good life lessons to share with Brianna. GeeGee hopes that Brianna is ready to hear them. I thought I’ll Be Seeing You was well-written with realistic, relatable characters. The story is told from multiple points-of-view. It is also goes from the present to the beginning of World War II (the bombing of Pearl Harbor). I had a little trouble in the beginning adjusting to the back-and-forth, but I soon adjusted. We get to see how one mistake changes a person’s life and others. We see how a lie impacts not only the person who told it but to those around them. With God’s help, we can be forgiven so we can move forward. I like how the author incorporated faith into the story. It was well-done and not preachy. My favorite Christian line is, “When she’d confessed her sin, He’d forgiven her. There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Jesus Christ.” I loved the references to movies from that time period (The Song of Bernadette, Holiday Inn, and Mrs. Miniver). I’ll Be Seeing You deals with realistic situations and problems. We see how the characters overcome them with God’s help. I enjoyed watching the characters grow as people and in faith. I did feel that the book was a little too long. There were points that were repeated a few too many times. A couple of changes would have made I’ll Be Seeing You an even better story. I’ll Be Seeing You is a touching tale that will hold your interest until the very last page. I like that we get to see how one bad choice was turned to good. I’ll Be Seeing You is a story about family, faith, forgiveness, history, salvation, love, and God’s grace.
