I enjoyed this middle grade mystery story with all of the characters within. The main characters were Hayley and her two friends.

Hayley and her two friends are actors in the TV show called "Sadie Solves it". They are firming at Silver Screen studio and one of the people that are helping tells Hayley and her friends that the  studio is haunted. Hayley and her friends try to find the ghost or the person that is making things stop them from filming the show. Because the show must finished.

This was a fun story to read. It had action, adventure,  and suspense throughout. It had a few giggles and laughs within. It was fun trying to solve the mystery within. This was the first story of three in the series.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

I really enjoyed this book and was excited to read it, especially as a teacher of middle-grade students. I thought it was a fun mystery for this generation's students. It is an excellent "Nancy Drew" style story that is an easy read that kids who like mystery-style books will enjoy. I was excited to share this book with my students and bought a book to add to our classroom library.

A wonderful middle school mystery series. A modern day Nancy Drew story set in Hollywood. The story was very interesting and keeps readers reading. I highly recommend this book to young readers and mystery lovers

I know a ton of kids who love the Hayley mysteries and despite the late review it is one of my faves this year.

Hayley LeBlanc and her two best friends Aubrey and Cody are the stars of Sadie Solves It, a TV show about an amateur sleuth that has recently been renewed for a second season. For season two, production has moved from a remote soundstage in the LA Valley to a stage at Silver Screen Studios in the heart of Hollywood and the team is excited, but for Hayley and her friends, it all feels a bit like the first day at a new school. There are new team members on set, everything feels unfamiliar, and the crew seems to be taking things a bit more seriously than last year.

But as soon as production begins, weird events start happening on set. A heavy light falls from the ceiling right where Hayley should have been standing, an electrical fire breaks out delaying production, and someone is nearly crushed by falling crates. Meanwhile, people keep whispering about the ghost who supposedly haunts the very stage they are working on and rumors begin to spread that the ghost wants their show to fail. With the future of Sadie Solves It now in jeopardy, and Cody at risk of being moved back to Texas if the show fails, Hayley decides that she needs to solve the mystery just like her on-screen persona would. But what is really behind the haunting, and can Hayley stop it before her show is canceled for good?

The Hayley Mysteries: The Haunted Studio is the first in a new middle-grade series from 13-year-old YouTuber and actress Hayley LeBlanc with two more books—The Missing Jewels and The Secret on Set—due for publication before the end of the year. Whether or not this book was actually written by Hayley herself is debatable and writing a series with yourself as the star is perhaps a little weird, but given her 1.5million YouTube subscribers, presumably, there’s a strong market for this series.

Personally, I found the book itself rather lacking. The plot feels like something out of Scooby Doo but lacks the comedy elements that make Scooby a success (sadly there are no towering sandwiches to be found). The characters are relatively diverse—Aubrey is Black and Cody has two moms—but one-dimensional to the point where I could barely recall anything about them after finishing the book, and the writing feels quite simplistic, closer to a chapter book than a full-on middle-grade novel.

Fans of Hayley LeBlanc will no doubt be clamoring for this one, but I can’t see it appealing much outside of that existing sphere.

How cool is this book series! I love the intertwining of Hollywood and mystery. My school library will definitely be adding this series to our collection for our growing readers. It has a mass appeal, so I anticipate it being checked out frequently.

This is a cute book and it should do well with the middle grade readers. As an adult, it does not have much substance and I did not end up finishing the book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for offering me an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was adorable. Full stop. Hayley was a great MC and Amelia’s dramatics made me giggle. I think this is a perfect middle grade read for kids and teens that love a good mystery! It’s perfect, especially, for the upcoming spooky season! I mean, who doesn’t love a good haunted films set?? This was a great start to the series and I can’t wait to see more Leblanc.

I loved this MG mystery book. This was super fun, enjoyable, and a quick read. This is about Hayley, who is cast as the lead in a Nancy Drew-type kids TV show, and how weird things start happening around the studio, so she gets a chance to become a real-life sleuth to figure out what's going on. Hayley and her friends get to work on solving a haunting of the studio set.
I read this all in one sitting and was left wanting more. It was super light-hearted and so much fun. Such an entertaining and fantastic Middle Grade read. I can't wait to read more of this series. If you love Nancy Drew/amateur kid sleuths, middle-grade mysteries, and light-hearted and heartwarming stories, then check this one out.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids/Sourcebooks Young Readers for letting me read and review this cute and fabulous book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hayley is starring in a TV show about a girl detective. Her two best friends on the show are her two best friends in real life, Cody and Aubrey. Her little sister on the show, Amelia, is a diva in real life. Very dramatic; for example, she "faints" every time she forgets her lines. Their show moves to a new sound stage for their second season and one of the first things the trio learns is that there is a a ghost supposed to be haunting the set. Amelia quickly picks up the story and helps spreading rumors. Hayley has experienced some weird phenomena on the set herself. She doesn't want her show to end so she sets out to figure out what's going on.
This was a fun start to a new mystery series.

This looks like a very fun read for the 9-12 age category. Unfortunately I was unable to download this to any of my devices so will have to wait for access to a physical or library copy before adding my review.

This book was a cute, easy, and fast-paced read that I really needed at the moment! It's a really great and fun summer read. I fnished this around 5 days ago, on a plane, and really enjoyed it! 🎬 It's under 200 pages, so it's perfect to read in one sitting. The characters were adorable and fun-loving; you can't help but root for them from the second you meet them. Mystery-sloving Hayley, her adorable cat Salmon, adventurous Aubrey, funny Cody, and gossipy Amelia are all so well written. Their friendships and relationships with each other were also really cute and meaningful 💝 They all have wonderful personalities, and quickly became my comfort characters! They weren't cringy at all! The mystery element of this book was executed beautifully. I loved how the mystery was solved. The twists and turns definetly kept me on my toes, making me guess who was the "ghost". I adored the theatre/movie part of the book, too. I learned quite a bit about different theater and movie terms. The plot was very well-woven together. I love how it all came together in the end. I admit, at first, I was skeptical of reading this book; I'm not big on reading books written by celebrities. But Hayley's writing style was really fun and enjoyable to read! I'm so happy that this series is bieng continued: I can't wait to keep reading about Hayley and her friends and how they continue to solve more mysteries! All I could say is that this a very well written book, and it's definetly worth a read, especially if you're into mystery or middle grade.

𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭: In the first book of a middle-grade mystery series by @hayley.leblanc, we follow 13-year-old Hayley who is preparing to film the second season of a Nancy Drew-like kids show in which she plays the lead.

But strange things begin happening at the studios. Lights flicker and fall from the ceiling, cold air appears from nowhere, and accidents happening with no clear cause. And rumours of a ghost haunting the studio spark imaginations to run wild.

It’s up to Hayley and her two best friends to solve the mystery, just like their TV counterparts, before there show is cancelled!

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: I enjoyed this books a lot and managed to read it within 24 hours. A relatively short read that I would recommend for kids that love a good mystery, for kids that love ghost stories, and even for kids who want an insight into Hollywood. There was something super endearing about the characters and friendships in this book that makes me think the author really drew from her own experiences with acting. I look forward to seeing what happens in the upcoming sequel too.

Oh shucks this book was hilarious!

This is my first book set on a movie set with stars of a teenage sleuth series think nancy Drew but in 2022. I would recommend that you go in blind to this book and of course always have pizza lying around. This book is so good and engrossing and will ensure that you keep flipping. The story is well written and perfect for fans of Scooby Doo. I recommend.

Huge thanks to the publisher for my complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Kids for the ARC in exchange for the honest review.

When Hayely LeBlanc is cast as the lead of a new mystery TV show, she's surprised to find strange things happening as production ramps up. Is the studio haunted as the stories say? Will Hayley and her friends be able to solve the mystery before the show is shut down?

I found this a quick, fun and interesting story. The illustrations were amazing and really brought to life the characters and key scenes. I liked Hayley's character, how her curiosity was brought in, the relationship she had with her friends, and the urgency and fear from such a young character to solve this mystery before her big break is taken away from her. That being said, I did think the plot could have been fleshed out more to create a greater suspense with Hayley investigating the hauntings/mystery, perhaps having Hayley contend with more surprises and more incidents. But I do accept that that it would appeal to its intended audience.

Three stars!
